A true classic never goes out of style, if this was only a bit longer lasting, but it's pure Italian fresh and clean, got the Modern Dandy too.

The trick is to take that damn plastic reservoir tip off the bottle before you spray it. Man that design for that plastic tip has to be the absolute worst in fragrance. But I think it adds to the charm of that bottle. Bought that thing because I was very genuinely looking for something a dad in a suit would wear in 1957. That's it. Pine, cedar, lemon, and a nice deep tarry smoke to it. Gotta be the cedar. Layering with the body wash I get great performance out of it. Man that bottle of shower gel is hilarious. The cap is huge, the nozzle to let the gel out is as wide as a damn nickel. That dark ass green color. I LOVE how dated this stuff is. It's stuck in the 50's-60's and I hope it never changes. Much love for this one.

Ordered this off Amazon and just received it yesterday. I was surprised to find they've updated it to a regular cap and traditional sprayer, while still keeping the look of the glass bottle. Maybe they saw your video and listened! I like the scent but it is not strong enough for me. I get mostly a dark woods kind of smell and not that much pine. But could also be me. I recently learned that Flonase and Vick's spray can cause loss of smell, so I've stopped using them. Maybe what smells weak to me smells strong to others. Anyhow, I always enjoy your videos! 👃🏻🌲🌲

I use the aftershave and it is great for summer. Especially in the office, at work, teaching a university class, etc.
Face feel is pretty good. It does have some conditioners and humecants in it that are not present in the EDT. The sprayer design is not perfect and it is something you will have to put up with.

K, are you familiar with the reformulation? I bought it from Fragrance Net in 2021. It has a normal atomizer (the pine cone lid comes off). The scent has been toned down and smoothed out (less harsh, more palatable to today's noses). I don't mind it but the older version, like what you have here, has more kick.

LOVE the Pino Sylvestre! Always have.
But it of course seems much weaker than it did 30 or so years ago... I suppose everything that we knew as "quality" back then, is much less than it once was.
As a side note, and sort of a rant to get the thought off of my chest, I want to say that, in my personal opinion, too many fragrances that modern day reviewers consider "bombs" or "beast mode", are really weak kid stuff to the noses of us older codgers.
Back in the Eighties and earlier, even most "drugstore" frags were real ball kickers... And if you bought something like Aramis or Kouros, or anything "expensive", you could rest assured that it'd last AT LEAST twelve hours on the skin... Definitely NOT the case, these days.
And it's also funny how do many reviewers claim something to be "a smoke bomb" or a "dead up campfire", or "exactly like a walk in the woods", etc.
Years ago, if ya brought say Piver Quir de Russie... It WAS Russian Leather.
The original Polo WAS a walk in the woods.
Bowling Green WAS a day out on a great lawn.
I'm pretty certain that because of reformulation, the fragrances have been weakened... But it's probably not ONLY because the companies are purposely cheapening up... I'm convinced that the younger people who are reformulating those classic fragrances really don't KNOW what those things smell like, because who spends a few days at a time in the woods anymore, right?
Remember.... We're talking about a generation or two that was raised to think they were "dirty" if they didn't shower three times a day.
If someone has stripped off every last molecule of "Dirt" like that, I'm sure that distilled water would stink to High Heaven to them.
Years ago, I used to regularly buy a fragrance that was exactly that of "church incense", more specially BYZANTINE CHURCH incense.
Of course, it's nowhere to be found anymore... But I couldn't tell you how many bottles of alleged "incense bombs" I've wasted money on, because it was touted as smelling EXACTLY like "being in church"... Then it dawned on me.... Not many people actually attend church anymore, so how in the hell are they gonna know what it smells like?
Another one I used to buy was EXACTLY the scent of a real campfire, with real Birch notes and a slight sweetness... again, EXACTLY like a campfire.
To date, I must have been through twenty "exactly like a campfire" frags... None of which smell anything like the real thing.
    And so it goes.
Hey... You have excellent taste. Your reviews are top notch.
    I really do appreciate ya!
    Cheers!

Excellent spring/summer/fall fragrance, I always remove the plastic cap before spraying it so that I don’t spill it and waste it then I put it back just because it looks cool, I’ve wore it a few times to the hospital where I work and they have liked it and even asked me what I’m wearing because it smells clean, those guys who don’t like this one is because they’re pussies who like to wear bubble gum fragrances for kids like Invictus, sorry not sorry🤷🏻‍♀️

This still has a bit of traction in Australia. It's a cheapie but I've noticed some millennials wearing it in an ironic way. There's also a couple of Australian comics of Italian origin that did a half joking ad which I think was on instagram. I like it although it is a bit too one dimensional for me. I use it as a cheaper thing to splash on when I've shaved but I'm just hanging around the house. It's also a decent air freshener when you just want to freshen up the room :) I know that's probably sacrilege for some.
