WOMEN IN THE SNEAKER INDUSTRY

Despite the growing number of females within the sneaker community, there is still a lack of inclusivity and representation for us female sneakerheads. There seems to be a mentality of “shrink it and pink it” when it comes to creating women’s sneakers and women’s exclusive releases. The sneaker industry has long been seen as a male-dominated industry, so what more can be done?
We chat with The Sole Womens team to discuss a number of issues when it comes to representation within the sneaker scene. From our favourite female creators and sneakerheads campaigning for change to the brands who are really making a difference with their efforts.
As the industry can be so intimidating for women looking to start their careers, we also talk to the team about how they got their start in the industry, and if they have any advice for young women looking to break into the industry.
