Re-padding the front seat in my 1959 Chevrolet plus installing seatbelts Part 3

- Finally, I got the job finished! The 59 Bel Air now has seatbelts. The new foam padding in the front seat makes a huge difference in comfort.
Health Update; I saw the doctor, as you will see in my video. It was great news.
Now back to about the old Chevy. I had to repair a small part of the floor pan on the passenger side over the seat mounting brace. (I yap about it in the video, video files were compromised. I ended up having to put a new memory card in the camera). For the most part, the floor pans are the original ones and fairly solid, considering they are 65 years old. There is no way I am going to replace the floor pans, so if they need small repairs, I do it.

Congrats on your PSA.
This is great guidance for putting belts in our 1960 Catalina. Thanks!
It's a bit of work, but I think worth it.

I have 61 Fairlane that needs back seat belts and I have an appointment scheduled to refoam the front seat. You may have encouraged me to do it myself.
Also I had my prostate removed a year and a half ago, and my PSA has been
I miss spoke, mine was remover two years two months ago. I feel really good now. It was also good knowing I won't be facing more radiation this summer.
Gladd your doing great Howard!
Brendan
Thank you
Great news not the health report, Howard. And it’s always interesting to see you tackling the various projects that come your way. Cheers!
Thank you
The belts look so good. The front belts look so clean. I wish I had the retractable belts in my car. As you know my belts are installed opposite so the female buckle is closest to the door. That way the buckle won't ever get caught in the door. But when you go to put them on its a reverse motion to clasp them together. You certainly hid the belts nicely in the back of the front seat. I have to admit so much nicer then the way mine look. Anyway, I was glad that you were able to take advantage of the belts I gave you, even if was just parts of them. Oh and congratulations on your psa test. I'm very happy for you my friend!
Thank you. I installed the belts like most were installed.... I went to a car lot and did some looking and measuring. The salesman was happy to open vehicles for me to do some measuring. Most vehicles were the same distance, so I set mine up the same way.
Happy to hear your PSA numbers are low. Beautiful work on the seats and seat belts.
Thank you
Great to hear Howard!
Thank you
Awesome video Howard! Your upholstery skills are amazing! Nice job on the belts too.
BTW - I have one of those 59 stools too! In the trunk!
And, I’m very happy to hear about the PSA levels! Good to see you’ve overcome that issue!
It feels good to have seatbelts.
Those stools just go hand and hand in a 59 Chevy, thats for sure. Someone gave it to me the year the 59 Chevy was on all the Dream Cruise merch.
I feel really good too. Been doing a lot of put off work around the house, due to feeling better.
Burlap. Very. Neat. Looking. Watch. On. My. Tv. Subscribed on my. Phone. Thanks
The next thing to do are airbags
LOL, yeah.... pack one in that horn ring!
@@OldCarAlleyif you spray silicone it’ll help to slide the whole airbag assembly into the horn button.😅
@@georgesand4629 LOL.... I'll give it a try!
