@TechTalkTV it's evident after mid 00's smartphone boom that they will always incentivise profit margins henceforth, not justifiable features that are a generational leap. That sort of growth ethos is unsustainable and outdated in a saturated market. Besides, the fact of the matter is they will never see sales again from that era. They stopped trying a while ago. If they actually cared, they wouldn't release annually and/ or would work on implementing features they withhold so they can't drip feed them the next year and hype it with silly marketing budgets; surely, a product should speak for itself, right? It's wasteful and scummy. It's not just hardware now with software features that could work and be implemented being withheld for the sake of incentivising a cop out (I.e. marginal difference with a new model). The new AI craze is the latest excuse to be even lazier in hardware changes - and everyone knows hardware should be 50% of the equation, not pulling double duty for a lack of hardware. That is when a phone operates best, balancing those two principles without undermining innovation. Instead, all we get is software - that definitely does work on older hardware being hyped as the new thing - which is all the more confusing why they bothered since one UI 6.1 retains the majority of features on s23 ultra that the s24 ultra has. It's an utterly moronic and brain-dead move if they want to truly convince people there's any semblance of reason for people to upgrade.

Regardless, no phone is ever going to give any reason to convince anyone to upgrade who has an ounce of sense. If there was any reason to upgrade, they wouldn't be as minimal as they are - by design, I may add. Ststistics of phone plans going up to 3 years go to show a tonne of people have the same stance. It's all a con hinging on fringe consumers who have FOMO. Needless to say, it's psychological and manipulative marketing bordering on anti-consuner tactics by making last year's model seem intentionally worse by withholding or making the software a gradually terrible experience. I mean, it's barely anything major after 3 generations of phones these days if the design philosophy alone is anything to go by.
I certainly like the screen of my wife's S23 Ultra more than my new S24 Ultra. It has punchier colors and over all look despite the new updates made for the S24 Ultra which increased its display quality.
Currently typing this on my Galaxy Note10+. It's holding up remarkably well after NEARLY HALF A DECADE OH MY GOD, but the S25 Ultra will probably be my next phone. Can't wait to hear new details and eventually get my hands on the phone.
@@chi2251 on my note? Absolute dogshit nowadays. I get 2-4h of screen on time on a full charge WITH battery saving on and not doing anything crazily demanding. It drains super quickly with the screen off, i remember one time I listened to music during a 2h drive, using the phone maybe 15 min of that time (i was the passenger dw), so bluetooth and mobile data were on but the screen was off and the phone went from 80% to 40%. That's a big reason as to why I'll be switching. I already changed the battery once as well, some 2.5 years ago I think.

Hi Sal. Good video on what's expected for the upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra. Overall, based on what was mentioned the Galaxy S25 Ultra will definitely shine really bright for this upcoming year 2025. Due to the fact that the RAM for it will be thinner and lighter, that'll make space for other components like what was mentioned in the video. With that being said, I hope we'll all see the return of the micro sd card being used for it. Historically, memory expansion was one key feature previous Samsung phones had over the competition. With that capability, phone users had high levels of flexibility for storage. I also hope they'll bring back memory expansion because besides 1 TB micro sd cards being available, 2 TB cards are available as well. It'll be great for a Samsung phone to utilize a 2 TB micro sd card. A screen size increase for the S25 series sounds good. If one model for the S25 series gets a screen size increase, that means the other two models the + and Ultra models will get screen size increases as well. As for the S25 Ultra. That increase is definitely needed. The S21 Ultra, S22 Ultra, last year's S23 Ultra and this year's S24 Ultra unfortunately all have the same screen size at 6.8 inches. Historically, Samsung never did that by having four consecutive years of the same screen size. There was always an incremental screen size increase annually. Based on levels of advancement from few years ago to where they are now, Samsung can easily give the screen size increase for the S25 Ultra to 7.0 inches or 7.1 inches. They can achieve this by increasing the height of the phone by 1mm or 2mm. Also, 7.0 inches or 7.1 inches can easily be achieved by eliminating completely both the top and bottom bezels on the phone. If they all of those, 7.0 or 7.1 inches for the screen can be done. If it gets done, Samsung would not be the first smartphone manufacturer to have 7.0 inches available on a standard screen layout on a phone, but they would be the first to do that in comparison to Apple and Google.

Sal, thanks for the info regarding the faster RAM and storage speed. But hopefully Samsung will equip the S25 series with USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 speeds. Right now the S24's USB-C speed is only half of the iPhone 15 Pro series. If they can at least match the current iPhone's USB speed, we can do a lot more with external devices, especially with they new Oryon cores (it'll basically be as powerful as a mid-range laptop in some respects).
Internals means very little to most people....we need a new design, new colours and yes an sd card slot if, as you say, they'll have room for more components. And 6.9 is way too big and I love big phones but there's a limit. The compact phone is going the way of the dodo which will leave many people with no option at all. Phone geeks like me are the minority. Most don't know and don't care.
I am starting to be of an opinion that Samsung among others manufacturers are doing the users or their customers a disservice. A new model every two years at a minimum would be a lot more exciting. I am totally happy with the S24U and I am no longer interested in the next two or three models.

But will you enjoy it, when you realize the cost..? I don't mean the cost in money, i mean the cost in storage size.. because UFS is still use the outdated SATA technology with individual 600MB/s transfer limit (SATA3), to increase the transfer speed they need to double the amount of drives in the RAID.. and that also double the power consumption and the minimal file size too.. even the UFS 3 had 5 drives, UFS 4 increased that to 10 drives, now it should be 20 drives in the RAID.. so with 4kb cluster size, that 4kb must be locked on all the 20 drives just to keep the sync between them, so the minimum file size is 80kb.. just check your system how many small files you have (ini files etc), but even the end of the file also can waste a tons of space (like a 85kb sized file will take 2x80kb alias 160kb to store, instead of 22x4kb alias 88kb.. just search on web how many cries about why the Genshin Impact use way more size on Android like on iPhone - about 1 year ago was a topic where they cried why the Android version use 22GB when the iOS version only use 18GB storage.. and that will be even worst with this..)
Give us a phone which does not overheat and as a result have to dim the screen automatically. That is ridiculous. This happens even with the S24 Ultra. I know this is necessary but I hate to see the screen dim every time the phone is doing some over processing. And no, I don't have Adaptive Brightness ON. It is not that! It happened with all my past Samsung S20 series including my wife's whenever the phones are going through some high processing applications. For me, that it is annoying.
No news on regular S25? Not going to get it but it's a shame the S24 got zero memory upgrades. It'll be even more of a shame if Samsung does not upgrade the S25 either. Hopefully a design refresh comes underway too

No reason for anyone from even the S22U to upgrade, unless S25U brings some key improvements. - faster charging. Imo, should have at least 60W charging, but 80+ ideally, given the Chinese competition. - larger, higher quality image sensors. 1 inch sensors for main camera like Xiaomi 14U, and larger sensor for the 3x telephoto and ultrawide, at least 1/2.55" sensor
I don't care about faster storage. I want expandable storage. I already had to leave the S-line cause I'm not giving up my 1tb micro sd card until I no longer have a choice. I'm already down to the Samsung A line because of it. This is my line in the sand.
First they should fix the green line issues on their flagship phone. I used to have Samsung S21 ultra, but then it started showing green lines. I love Samsung but I can't buy it in future if they've this type of issue.

With Samsung rolling out a new modem that supports satellite connectivity, there's a good chance the S24 Ultra will come with that feature.

I don't mean the cost in money, i mean the cost in storage size.. because UFS is still use the outdated SATA technology with individual 600MB/s transfer limit (SATA3), to increase the transfer speed they need to double the amount of drives in the RAID.. and that also double the power consumption and the minimal file size too.. even the UFS 3 had 5 drives, UFS 4 increased that to 10 drives, now it should be 20 drives in the RAID.. so with 4kb cluster size, that 4kb must be locked on all the 20 drives just to keep the sync between them, so the minimum file size is 80kb.. just check your system how many small files you have (ini files etc), but even the end of the file also can waste a tons of space (like a 85kb sized file will take 2x80kb alias 160kb to store, instead of 22x4kb alias 88kb.. just search on web how many cries about why the Genshin Impact use way more size on Android like on iPhone - about 1 year ago was a topic where they cried why the Android version use 22GB when the iOS version only use 18GB storage.. and that will be even worst with this..)
They should work on slimming the phone.
Give us a phone which does not overheat and as a result have to dim the screen automatically. That is ridiculous. This happens even with the S24 Ultra.
I know this is necessary but I hate to see the screen dim every time the phone is doing some over processing.
And no, I don't have Adaptive Brightness ON. It is not that! It happened with all my past Samsung S20 series including my wife's whenever the phones are going through some high processing applications.
For me, that it is annoying.
UFS 4.0 launched on 2023 phones (and some Chinese models that launched Nov/Dec 2022) so going by this the S25 probably won't get 4-lane UFS 😭

No news on regular S25? Not going to get it but it's a shame the S24 got zero memory upgrades. It'll be even more of a shame if Samsung does not upgrade the S25 either. Hopefully a design refresh comes underway too

No reason for anyone from even the S22U to upgrade, unless S25U brings some key improvements.
- faster charging. Imo, should have at least 60W charging, but 80+ ideally, given the Chinese competition.
- larger, higher quality image sensors. 1 inch sensors for main camera like Xiaomi 14U, and larger sensor for the 3x telephoto and ultrawide, at least 1/2.55" sensor

First they should fix the green line issues on their flagship phone. I used to have Samsung S21 ultra, but then it started showing green lines. I love Samsung but I can't buy it in future if they've this type of issue.
S25 increasing in size is a mistake. It's already huge, unless they make it a clambshell. Also they need to add a microphone and maybe a selfie cam to the s-pen and get rid of the hole punch.
