I am an United fan and rivalry aside I always say Foden is the best talent. Imo Foden is level on par with Rooney. Saka is at great form but I have seen multiple games when he goes missing but not called out like Rashford is called out for missing.
My honest ranking would be
1. Foden
2. Grealish/Saka(both has pro and cons)
3. Rashford
4. Rice

@@theach84 Probably the best range of pass in Europe with either foot and under pressure in tight spaces, powerful dribbler and a good defender in the block - the only defensive weakness he actually has is defending 1 on 1 with his back to goal and he's not great in the air. I think Foden’s role and what he has given to City over the last 5-6 seasons is so undermined. The 2 years City didn’t have a striker, he filled in and played that flase 9 role better than Jesus played up top. He has delivered in big games like against United last season getting a hat trick, and multiple games in the UCL.

Fair play to Flex for keeping it real with Foden having at 1st. Had Saka not disappeared at the end of the last couple of seasons and made it count when his team needed him the most, I’d have him in 1st, but he didn’t and every time Foden has been allowed to play, especially in big games like the CL knockout stages or v LFC or MU etc he’s always delivered. Last season having a foot injury just before and then worse after he WC along with appendicitis cut his season down a lot but when he did play, he scored as many goals as Saka yet played about 1/3 the time. That said, Saka 2 by a country mile over the others

@@rextuller3498 You mean the only shot on target Arsenal had vs City at Emirates in the suspicious penalty given that Saka converted right? Nothing from open play in both games City slapped Arsenal. Saka was a ghost in all 3 games. So that doesn’t help your argument.
The LFC goals at the Emirates (beginning of season) that was offside but VAR “didn’t have a camera to check the angle” but a goal is a goal, so that fair. Then made the penalty (fair enough). So good there. But at the end of the season when it mattered most what happened? He disappeared at LFC and skied the pen which likely would’ve had Arsenal win the game.
Also, my main point was that he is a ghost in the business end of the season. World class players rise to the occasion, he disappears. As for the big games, world class players are consistent scorers in a lot of big games, not just a few peppered over the season but not including the last 10 games or so. The goals he got against MU were early in season and then again in Jan when everyone was saying Arsenal had won the league and there was no pressure. I’m the pressure games (last 10 of season) and a number of big games, he’s not there.
He could change it this season with the CL and I hope he does. Until then, he’s not world class yet

Foden’s got back to back and Saka was given it this year as a sympathy trophy with no value as he didn’t deserve at all. Haaland did and the world knows it. If Saka had any character, he’d have rejected that trophy bc he knows based on merit, like every one else, he doesn’t deserve it when compared to Haaland’s body of work. The difference with Foden and Saka is, Saka just had an average start to the season. But he’ll be starting every match going forward. Lack of competition. If he was at City, he’d probably have been dropped. So it will be very difficult for Foden to get a run in the team as Saka. I remember Foden cooking on the RW last season before his injury. From what we’ve seen so far, my list is;
1-Saka
2- Foden
3- Rice
4- Rashford
5- Grealish
Maddison is a baller and a better leader with the ball than anyone on the list (except Rice)

He is just like Matt Le Tissier in the fact that if he were German, Spanish, Brazillian, Agrentinian, we would be talking about him as one of the best attacking right backs in the history of the league at only aged 24. But because he is English, because Southgate doesnt fancy him, because the media focuses on his mistakes (of which you'll literally find similar reviewing any wingback on any team in detail by the way). because of that he is always downplayed. It is hilarious because honestly.
When you talk about world class current English players for their respective positions. You have Kane, TAA, Arguably Rice (more because of a lack of world class CDMs out there at the moment than him being a world class player normally) Then Bellingham is throwing his way into that with his RM performances.
That is it! those are the only players where if you are building a team of the world and working with a shortlist of 5 players per position, they are on that list.
TAA is an incredible footballer but we have better players in the position he plays in at club level
