Dude, as an Astros fan, I'm really looking forward to this conversation. Love your Covid Day to Day series that's a blast. And before I get pelted on by comments and down votes (not that it matters really), what the astros did is egregious and tarnishes the game of baseball. What manfred did (which was really a slap in the wrist) is also despicable. I am not even enjoying watching them play anymore.
Question for you Trevor. Do you think other teams are also cheating in the same capacity as the Astros?
My whole gripe with this is that we live in an insane world in an insane year, and I at least was hoping some good ol baseball will cheer me up but alas it ain't.

They won’t and that’s why baseball is dying. Trouts been the best baseball player in the MLB for like 5 years now, and if he walked into a store where I’m from (st Louis) no body would even know who he is. And our city is a huge baseball town. Now if it was Brady or lebron, it would be completely opposite. And we don’t even have basketball or football pro teams. It’s just disappointing as a baseball fan. It’s almost like there is no passion when half these guys go out to play. They are there to collect a check and move on. No care for the next generation of players, the fans, the city.. that’s why the attendance is so low.
Blues fan especially in florida where I live like there is a lot of good baseball players down here and a lot of good pro players from here like degrom but no one even watches baseball here I don’t think like in my school I’m pretty sure barely anyone watches baseball

What you want him to do sit at a table and gossip like a little girl and tell stories? Let him do what he does best and play baseball.
I dont think they should HAVE to market themselves like this because they’re entitled to live their lives how they want to. If they want to just focus on baseball and family that’s cool. I do think that MLB it’s self has to take cues from those players, like Bauer and Clev, and work with guys like Jimmy and Fuzzy to market their players in a way that makes them seem relatable and shows their humanity. Being a Braves fan, the “Behind the Braves” show they did that Jimmy mentioned was so cool because it gave guys a chance to be honest about the team and their personal situation. The MLB would fare a lot better with younger generations if they did things like that. Also get the blackouts out of here.

I think what sucks the most is that through their cheating, they decreased the value of some players by raising their ERA or affecting in how they play. Does that make sense?

What's hypocritical is that those trash talkers of Bauer and Clevinger didn't call out the Red Sox cheating, which is pretty obvious why they didn't. They didn't wanted to mess with a marquee team and talk bad about to them.
Clevinger is such a great personality, but I’ve never known a single thing about him besides like stats. The only other personalities I know outside of the team I root for is bc of Jomboy’s breakdowns (ex: Soto. What a weirdly entertaining dude) Love that you have this platform. This is so good for baseball.

It would be great. With all the story of all the grind and thrive of all the players. And as they said the work of underground role as back up catcher/bulben and everything as the other sport have done in the last year

Jerome Miville yeah except for the fact that NFL teams play 16 games with 1-2 off days per week and MLB plays 162 with 1-2 off days per month. The amount of footage to sort through would be ridiculous

The Jomboy video that turned me onto his content was one where he showed close-ups of.. I believe Posey's pitch calls, and he showed close-ups of the catcher signals and touched on the Pitcher-Catcher discussion/relationship. I had never seen anything like that. Keep it up boys, and same to you all.

The may be the first time I've actually enjoyed content involving Fuzzy (and that's coming from a fellow Indians fan). I actually enjoyed seeing him expressing himself as he is, and not merely the YT persona he puts on in his vids.
I can not wait for the rest of this season. This was a great episode. You really need to rework what time you drop the videos though. This released as the Reds were facing the Indians with Clevinger on the mound.

100% agree with the point that fans want to see the behind the scenes of baseball and being able to see the different personalities of players. Nobody like the cookie-cutter aspect the MLB tries to portray.

That's the type of statement that endears real fans. I'd rather see someone who made it to the MLB talk about what they feel than see Blank Face #40 or Cog-in-the-Machine #25 discuss the team effort and honor.
As a third-year college professor, I'm still at this point in my career where the moment I mention anything wrong with the institution in terms of unequal conditions (even if it's about others and not myself), I risk backlash and career termination. There's nothing *wrong* with wanting to see improvements and individuality; There's a lot wrong with telling someone, "You make X amount of dollars, you don't deserve to speak about this issue."

What a great open conversation...I'm a Marlin's fan and have been I'm 32 so my whole life underdogs and now we are doing great. Cervelli in the clubhouse is a big deal and what opinions do you have about the Marlins. The media is trying to make us look like it's all out fault for missed games etc. I'd love to know how you feel we well as the others feel from what you hear around the league. Jomboy is a home grown grassroots baseball movement in the biggest market in the game. Him talking about his first interaction with Cashman sums up the view the MLB and the Organizations have had towards the New Media. They acknowledge it with a cold distance and know they have to embrace it to grow the game but are slow to do so.
