Okay so back when dubstep sounded like this. We had old school Excision, Skrillex, Datsik, Knife Party, etc. Why have I not heard of Eptic before and how come this shit still fuckin slaps damn near 10 years later?? lol
He came from nowhere, but was in touch since his first days with some others artists (mostly belgian). I remember him at chronos records (there was some artists more known), and then he come to NSD but was underrated for years. I believe he got some recognition after 2015, cuz before even if he released such a unbelieveable EPs, he was on mouth for small group of people as one of the best. Now it changed a lot and he is so popular in a dubstep scene

Eptic was pretty well known on the European continent (UK, Belgium, Netherlands, etc.). I knew Eptic before I knew Excision or Datsik. It took a while before he started playing in the USA.

there still is dubstep, it’s just that most artists have moved on from this phase (Skrillex, Knife Party, Borgore), or those that stayed, such as Eptic or Zomboy, refined their sounds but lost popularity in the mainstream field. Dubstep still exists, those artists still exist. Skream, Burial, Skrillex, Eptic, Kill the Noise, Excision, and the ones that followed all shaped it for the better, but a genre can’t stay in its formation years forever.
We have to move on.
