I divorced and fought for custody of my daughter in court. It cost me every penny but I won. My daughter was 4 at the time. My ex-wife never paid me a dime in child support! The courts and the child support agency would not enforce my ex to pay! If that had been me refusing to pay - I'd be in jail! The system sucks! but at least I had my daughter living with me. She's 28 now. I have the memories, I'm luckier than most men/fathers.

Respect my man. My daughter lived with me throughout elementary school on a verbal agreement with her mother. In 5th grade her mom came to visit and decided with no notice that she was taking our girl. Legally I could do nothing as she was the custodial parent. Nearly 20 grand later, I obtained full custody of my daughter when she was 12. She’s almost 16 now so we have a few years ahead of us still. I wholeheartedly agree, you can’t put a price on the time and memories you get to make with them.

Ex wife took everything I worked for starting at 18 years old and I had to start over again at 37 with horrible credit, no retirement, no savings, etc. And she got all that even though she cheated and I kept the kids! No woman is worth that and I'm happy to be single still 12 years later. Women are proud to bring nothing to the table. I'm a good dad and was very happy to raise my kids as a single dad but women just want me to raise their kids. Um ... No. And they are proud to not be able to cook, clean, do laundry, etc. - all the things I do. It's just being a functional adult and they are proud to not be functional adults! Yep. After 17 years my wife wanted a divorce seemingly out of nowhere. Literally up to that day it was I love you, hugs, kisses, etc.
I left her a little love letter before I went to work like I had literally thousands of times before and that day it just came out of nowhere.
Days after I moved out she even wrote me a letter telling me how great of a husband and provider I was and that I was a perfect father and that she would always love me, but it was time for her to move on.
Well it turns out she had been having affair since she had gotten layed off and I was working extra. Her other guy asked her to marry him.
Well he was younger, he was a gym rat, tanned, pretty boy that literally shaved his entire body daily.
That marriage lasted her 2 years. Now she is a fat pill popping broken bodied woman.
Oh. And I just gave her the land the house and virtually everything else besides my truck, camping gear, guns, tools, and dog.
The house, garage and land, new house by the way, had tons of equity and after I had refinanced the mortgage was only $1400. Her and her new husband lost it all in 1year.
We are still cordial to each other and I have even done a bunch of work on her current place because I love my kids and my daughter is 17 and lives with her, but she makes my skin crawl.
I just cannot trust women because of the dishonesty and manipulation that is possible. Why don't people just break it off clean before going through all of the hurtful dishonest b.s. that wrecks the other person.

You do not have the right to steal someone's trust and hope for a new future from them."
There are good men and women out there, unfortunately there are more self-centered & imature ones out there. But I feel ya, and I feel for you.
I had a friend who would knowingly use men for certian things and didn't care the men she manipulated were good men. So I disassociated myself from that friendship as it did not reflect my values, it was so wrong what she was doing without caring that she hurt another human being (her boyfriend) and then just dumped him after she got what she wanted (vacations, money, etc). He was the real deal, a good guy, who was genuinely loving. The type of guy I was looking for and wanted a life-long partnership with. Im no longer friends with that girl because I believe like you...nobody has the right to break another human that way. She knew she wasn't going to stay with him but used him & broke his heart by levaing him for a younger guy who was terrible & immature. Yep, they belong together as karma came back to bite her... the younger guy left her shortly after and she was a mess. She got what she deserved. Those rotten eggs ruin it for the rest of us, but karma is a B, just count on that.
Hope your life is better now.

Yes it is so true. My ex did that very thing but she was never able to prove it because it NEVER HAPPENED. She even tried to manufacture evidence by taking the kids to a therapist shortly before our marriage ended and then refusing to spank the children and asking me to do it. That way, they would tell the therapist i was 'hitting' them in session. Thankfully the good Lord protected me and made me feel VERY uncomfortable with that situation and i told her that i would not discipline the kids for something I did not witness when she is their mother and should be doing it. She got Very angry at me because i was not following her plan to jinn up abuse charges against me. Now, I trust no woman to ever marry again. I worked like a dog to provide a home so she could stay at home with the kids. She never respected me or what i sacrificed being away from the kids so she could be with them.

Quit choosing shallow women just because they look good on your arm and suit your current agenda! Guys get on women for this same problem. If everyone can hold themselves back in relationships until the other person has proven WITHOUT A DOUBT that they are worthy of your time and efforts, THEN grant them full access to you. Otherwise, quit airing out your problems to the masses and muddying the societal narrative. The issue isn’t Men vs Women. How many times do we have to be reminded that there are idiots in both sexes? We have hurt each other EQUALLY. Both sides have betrayed EACH OTHER. So fix it and treat each other fairly or at least try not to be the fool that allows themselves to be used.

we ‘choose’ shallow women because they’re the only options. Men go for 90% of women while women go for the top 10% of men. There’s so little options now, being unhealthy is a dealbreaker for me and most others, and 70% of men and women are obese or overweight. That leaves 30%, and if we assume 15% are attracted to you, that’ll leave 7.5% that you’re also attracted to. 90% of them will be incompatible and that leaves 0.75%. It’s bleak.

And then after a date that went amazingly well, she sent me a random a** message saying "sorry I just don't feel the chemistry. I wish you all the best. She was a awesome cook, but never cleaned or did the dishes, she only did the laundry once in a while.
She was great in bed & never told me no, but (thinking about it) I don't think she ever told anyone else no either.
She cheated, lied, wrote bad checks so had to canceled her account, she forged my name on the next four checks. While I was away on business she forged my name for the title on my truck & my car, stole a thousand dollars from our daughter's savings & denied everything, she bought some guy a new boat propeller then he dumped her.
I left sent her divorce papers twice & finally called her to convince her to sign them.

So I ran out of there.
I went home & wrote a poem about seeing her, two days later, out of boredom I went bowling, then I noticed that same woman was serving drinks to the bowlers, suddenly I could feel the pain in her life (it made me angry) & out loud I said; "I'll save her!" (I thought I was going nuts) I ran back to my bowling score for a dose of reality.
Next thing I knew my feet started walking me up the steps through a crowd of people, still looking at my feet I saw a pair of pink & white sneekers, I looked up & it was her.

My ex told me to get out, I blew it off the first time, 2nd time was a wake up call. I was 44/46 at the time, he was older.
2.5 years after separation I was $60K+ in debt, pushed for divorce, made an offer, ended up in court and I got way more than offered. 🤷🏼‍♀️
The “break down” was WAAAAY before this point. Lots of dynamics. One issue I hope rises above the breakdown.
We are not taught how to “do” a budget.
Everyone needs to understand the cost to “live”. Housing payment (rent/mortgage), car payment , insurance (house/car/health), food (groceries/eating out/bar tabs), non-food (detergent/toilet or paper towels/toothpaste/deodorant/etc), car fuel (fossil/elec), taxes (real estate/personal property/other), clothing/house decor, travel/vacay, I’m sure I’ve missed a category that should be in this list.
It cost at least $60K to survive with NO vacation…with NO dependent children (I have 3 adult kids), it’s been a struggle. Education should include budgeting in my opinion. School systems are no longer teaching it, parents need to wake up. My 2c commentary/opinion 🤷🏼‍♀️whatever…

Been with my wife for 9 years, with last 4 being rocky. Watched as we slowly drew apart. No matter how much I tried, I was always wrong, never did enough, never provided enough and just felt like she had made up her mind her life was miserable because of me. We have 4 kids and she left in march with them. Pulled them out of schools and completely ghosted me. I had to hire a pi to find them and to legal nofications to her. Had 3 temporary hearings that brought nothing. For 3 months, she didn't even let me speak to the kids. It was her dad that eventually let me start having phone calls with my kids. It's took 221 one days for me to even be able to hold my kids for a day. Still no court orders in place, I have had to be the one to prove my living condition, my work, my pay, my character. But her, nothing. Not once did judge ask her to. Even thought I knew they were living on the floor over there for months, judge didn't do anything about that. My wife doesnt even take care of my kids, just drops them off on her parents and goes lives her best life. She bad mouths me infront the kids and doesn't let them call me saying I don't want them to. I was soo happy to clear that up with them when I finally got to hold them. Now I just have to hold out for a few more weeks to finally get to custody court where I can finally have a chance of getting my kids back. This pain isn't worth repeating with another down the road. Will see how it plays out in 3 weeks.

Every little thing was an inconvenience to her, to the point where her only chore was laundry and she would half ass it. Watching the kids while I cooked supper pissed her off because it meant she’d have to get off her phone, which she was glued to 90% of the time.
Every little thing would piss her off, she’d yell at the dog, me, our kids, and it was always someone else’s fault.
Still, I stood by her because I was loyal and put family first, until she suddenly left having used months of childcare benefit (that would go directly in her account) to afford her own apartment.
Now it’s just me and my kids, and it’s like a weight has lifted. Suddenly everything is easier, and the house is much more calm and relaxed, and I’m no longer having to clean up after her.

Been a year now and haven't tried much to date since. I was kicked when I was down and that one hurt more than anyone could know.

@@leahwhiteley5164 Being simply a wallet or an ATM is how men are viewed by a lot of women. Men don't just want to be wallets, it's what we get relegated to in relationships and by society. 93% of all alimony payments are made by men to women. Women get the kids about 83% of the time, which means dad is paying child support. About 80% of divorces are initiated by women. No man wants to simply be a wallet.

Friends going through ugly, expensive divorces, especially with kids, discouraged me from settling down until I was almost 41. I met my smart and beautiful wife at a fitness center, dated for a year, and lived together for around a year before we married 25 years ago.
