- In today’s video, we welcome Jerry back to the channel. Jerry is with Jerrys Custom Vans in New Jersey. He is a custom van fabricator specializing in the Ram, promaster chassis, his newest creation features a unique bed design which I believe to be genius and the best I ah e seen in a while.
The van is equipped with lithium, batteries, solar panels, rooftop, air conditioning, and a heating system.

I was surprised when he showed it to me. I really didn’t think it was gonna fold like that.
It is brilliant , but I guess it is to small for most people. I don't see any cut outs .
Now that's a nice van conversion! Did you see that shower?! That bed configuration is spectacular, too! It goes from a queen size bed to a comfortable sofa in a second. Wow!

We had a similar bed in our Ivory Coach conversion van. Really good use of space in this one. Nice place to lounge and read during the day!

The shine on that paint job, wow! So, if the bed pushes up into a couch, does that mean there is split in the mattress/foam? I would be worried about not having total support on that mattress where the mattress folds. Otherwise, I really like this design, truly, one of the best.
Someone called it a futon bed and I would agree. My ex had a futon and that was the best bed I've ever slept on. I'd go with a futon mattress for the long haul!

I noticed the awning crank, wish rv manufacturers would allow customers to forgo the electric awning. We have a manual awning and it's not a big deal to crank it out and I don't have to worry about connectivity issues or motor failures.
Yes, I understand that. I wish there was a way for an awning to be full of power and easily done manual so the customer has the choice of doing it either way.
I think the whole design is the best yet. I love the shower placed right behind the driver's seat, placing the 2 kitchen counters directly across from each other. I've not seen that slide out fridge before, and I like it. The sofa/bed is great and makes maximum use of the space. The storage is awesome. The interior is beautiful. The only thing that wouldn't work for me is the induction stovetop, only because my cookware doesn't work on it, but I'm sure that's a small, easy fix. I love the exterior color. It's the shade above my Dodge Challenger color. The awning is a practical addition. My next goal is to win the lottery. Lol Thanks for the tour.

That is one of the best builds I've seen. And it is so smartly designed. It's clean/simple in appearance, but packs in a lot of features. But what I REALLY appreciate is that Jerry puts all of the little control panels in places where they are accessible but not just slapped up in a sloppy way like you see in most vans. Gorgeous work!
The bed is a really cool, unique design. I'm a big fan of the kitchen layout as well. Lots of counterspace and storage.Great build.

I'm so interested in how you did the bed. I've been wracking my brain to figure this out for months. Did you use existing hardware, or a custom track that the couch rides up to get into couch position? Heavy duty drawer slides? I want to do a lengthwise bed, that the head rises up to get into lounge position

Wow you were right! The bed makes easy conversion actually doable daily.
I have always like the color choices Jerry makes. And the layout with all the details are great.

That upright position does look comfortable.
It can be made with any angle you want. It locks in there because of the size of the seats.

I agree with you Patrick he has some unique features and the bed is the best one. I had a similar fold up bed/couch in a Ford extended van, I loved it. His build stands out compared to some of the others.

It’s very nice but I still love the happy Jack bed that comes down in seconds at night leaving you a full lounge all day and more workspace etc for whatever. The happy Jack bed is complete up and away.
I understand how that is appealing however he wanted a back space that one didn’t have to duck down and wanted to maximize on the amount of storage over the bed.
We're looking at happiJack for our build but the one item I've been struggling with is the maxx-air fan. We want one by the cab and one over the bed in the rear. If using the fan while cooking or showering, it's awkward as you'd have to partially lower the bed to get correct cross-vent. Jerry's bed design solves for that specific issue and also provides the multi-function dinette/bed space in rear, and also- it seems you don't have to pack away the sheets and pillows! Win, win, win. Am now rethinking the bed...

Jerry is an awesome guy. He builds two of these vans a year he puts all his heart, blood sweat and tears into titties.
It’s a beautiful design, hoe er the stove being so close to the bed a partition would be ideal. It would prevent spillage or splatter to dirty the bed

Cooool bed design. I wonder how the folding bed affects comfort of the mattress?
He sold this one back in November and new owner is very happy with it. Different people would have different comfort level so it’s hard to tell how the next customer will like it.
The ceiling stain looks half assed, like it was only surfaced coated after being installed. Looking closely at the grooves between planks in the video you can see unstained streaks. For whatever this guy charges I would expect that to be done right. Pause at 4:19 to really see it above his head.
Thank you for the feedback. I’m not the builder. I’m not sure what process he used but overall the van was very aesthetically pleasing and well built, and the new owner is very pleased with their purchase.
Everything’s looks like nice quality. The bed design is nice but looks like the mattress has to be pretty thin to fold like that. I’m more a fan of a thicker mattress.

Patrick and Jerry I like the bed turned into a sofa lounge. I have been looking at many major and smaller van building companies with their Class B vans.
Would like to know if you guys or anyone knows if a sofa bed in a Pleasure Way or Winnebago can be purchased. Or could something like it be built?
My thoughts are, can a Pleasure Way van be reproduce in a longer van and with my own tweeking.
I am sure someone can replicate it. Most RV company's only sell replacement parts not parts to build your own.

Nice build but don't like that bed functionality. Seemed tricky to move it and lock it then you have to push the table back in to get out of the seat.
Fair enough. It’s a good design he could always improve it as time goes, but I think it’s done well.

What about sitting on the toilet while you shower?
