  • This video discusses the relationship between Agent Pools, Build Agents, and the Build Server, as well as how to create a self-hosted build agent.
    A self-hosted agent is one that you set up and maintain on your own to run jobs. In Azure Pipelines, you can employ self-hosted agents. Self-hosted agents allow you more flexibility in terms of installing dependencies for your builds and deployments.

    Thanks for video. It will be good to inform about what should be installed on a machine with build Agent (self-hosted agent) in case it's a new empty windows server. I met this problem. Looks like it requires .net framework 4.7+ for agent itself and.... .net core 3.1+ SDK (not a runtime!) and maybe other SDK for build processes.
