If a guy was strong enough to open a door or window on a plane in flight, then he would be strong enough to kill all the passengers, survive the crash, and kill half the population of a major city.
Nobody, and I mean nobody, is strong enough to open a door or window while the craft is in flight. The air pressure inside the cabin keeps them sealed in place. This is not wishful thinking. This is engineering at its finest. God bless those engineers.
Think about it. If someone could open a door or window, then why don't the airlines put locks on the door handles? They don't have to lock the doors. The air pressure effectively locks the doors and (escape hatch windows) in place.

This is yet another example of why I feel two officers should be on every flight. Once in the air you are on your own and things can go bad fast. They need a seat and cuffs to be able to place and restrain unruly passengers. Security shouldn't just be priority before and after a flight.

@@krischambers9021 as costly as a single flight is the airline could easily afford two gaurds per flight. The airline owners live in billion dollar homes and can't pay two gaurds to attend each flight, that make sense to you? The amount of money that owners pocket each year is staggering and shows the majority kid the cost doesn't go to needs of an airline as it should to make both passengers and planes safe. They pay guards to be at each airport yet can't give safety a moments thought for both employees and passengers once in the air? That my friend is the most dangerous time of the entire flight . it didn't start and end once the plane takes off and people act up accordingly because they know the staff on that plane aren't equipped to handle a violent situation and isn't dealt with until that plane lands. Prevention is the key and should be first and foremost in any airlines minds. They spend billions just paying cleaning and random costs. It could easily be done.

I think Airline companies should keep a record of passengers who behave like that in an airplaine.
Record their name, age, their past history of violence and being arrested...etc..
So that next time the same passenger tries to board an aircraft the airliner can refuse service because there is no guarantee the deranged passenger won't wreak havoc again.
Just because of some unruly passenger a flight is diverted.. Unbelievable. Refuse service to that passenger.

In the late 1980s I got on a flight in Los Angeles which also had an odd guy who was talking loudly at the gate to random people. Once on the plane, he loudly announced he was going to the bathroom before take-off. We started taxiing and then stopped and returned to the gate because, as the head flight attendant announced, this guy was having a panic attack and they decided to let him off rather than have him go through this at 30,000 feet. Then we had to wait 45 minutes for his luggage to be found and removed. All this occurred after I'd already missed two previous flights due to delays...quite a day of air travel for me.
