      Yeah, a massive one of 20 wrestlers. Trouble is, they had two match options. You could have a single, or a single in a cage and that was it. What idiot made that decision whilst simultaneously having the Nasty Boys, Money Inc and The Headshrinkers in the game, I don't know. I also thought it was idiotic not having Perfect and Yokozuna's finishers not having a pin mechanic incorporated into them. That was a feature of WWF arcade games as far back as Wrestlefest in 1990, so there was no excuse for it not being here. Or a submission mechanic for the sharpshooter.

      The game gear version of raw had those rules in the one fall matches. Bret's sharpshooter finished the opponent when no life energy was in the bar. Yokozuna's banzai drop had a count while he was still on his opponents chest and the guy could still kick out.

  • @thebasketballhistorian3291

    Such a huge roster but only 1-on-1 matches available.
    I so wanted this game as a kid (I only had the SNES games), but now playing it as an adult, it really hasn't aged well. The matches are just button mashers. And all the wrestlers are exactly the same with the same moves except for finishers.
    WWF Raw did give them different moves and characteristics.

      This was released in late 1993.
      Warrior had been gone for over a year (He was fired in October 1992 along with the British Bulldog) and Hogan left the company in August of '93

    In Royal Rumble (another game), I remember you could hit many opponents at once with Luger's running forearm.

    Man Sculptured Software were lazy as F#CK when developing WWF games. Rage in the Cage, Wrestlemania, Royal Rumble, Raw, Steel Cage Challenge, Superstars 2 were the same game just different roster of character's for most of them.

    When I was in the Army me and a bunch of buddies had a virtual WWF. We had our wrestlers we would control go for titles, etc. I used to troll my friends hard when I had the belt, I would let them totally dominate me in the match and then I would get myself counted out on purpose. I would do it every time till they demanded a cage match lol.

  • @vahnsose

    By this time Shawn Michael was using the Super Kick, why didn't they just program it in?

    • @dalethechipmunk3873
      @dalethechipmunk3873 Před 3 lety +1

      Because in the early 90s Shawn Michael did the teardrop suplex as the finisher! But on the late 90s that's when the Sweet Chin Music was born!

    • @vahnsose
      @vahnsose Před 3 lety +1

      @@dalethechipmunk3873 right but this game was produced in 93. By that time, he was using the Super Kick as his finisher. There was a story about why he changed it from the tear drop suplex but I'm foggy on the details. Doesn't make sense since he changed it long before the game was released. Guess because this is pretty much the full edition of WWF Royal Rumble with the rosters of both the snes/genesis ports.
