7:16 I actually thought the same thing when I first watched this a year ago. Turns out they filmed this on empty land in the middle of nowhere, built an entire set made to look *exactly* like the Shibuya intersection, then surrounded the set with blue screens so they could use CGI to extend the physical streets they created, and add extra buildings to make it look more like the real deal. They have BTS footage of the show all over CZcams if you wanna see for yourself

I'm so glad this show is getting the recognition that it deserves. Squid game is a good show but very predictable for me. However, this show is more complex, the games are waaay more interesting and the mystery is more intriguing imo.
Squid Game focused a lot on the characterizations. We felt for almost every character in some way, shape or form. Alice in Borderland gets to go a little further by not being grounded in reality and so they can build up the suspense and mystery, but I admit I didn't really care much for a lot of the characters when compared to Squid Game. Kinda felt like an anime, I don't like the main cast but they got some cool side characters.
This show was far more predictable. From the light bulb, to the bus, to the wolf game, to the end with the murderer. Shit was easy.

@@Rakerong The characters develop more in the manga, the unrealistic aspect gets answered in a way, and there is a message in the end.
If you want to read the manga I suggest reading it with nothing can be explained ost (vocal and instrumental) and soundscape of ardor OST from Bleach or some other mysteious tracks.
I honestly prefer this over Squid Game (even though I recognize that Squid Game is superior in a lot of ways), purely because of the mystery and fantasy element.

@@sleprao It's two totally different vibes for me. I like this show a lot but the characters I felt more for in Squid Game. That show opened up all sorts of emotions in me. Alice in Borderlands was more focused on the entertainment factor and fun and suspense.

I think you would like sweet home then. It's not death game esc but it does have similar character beats and likable characters like squid game and Alice.

@@zachb5433 For me (imo) I would say that AIB is more emotional, mainly because Squid Game both in terms of episodes and in terms of the show itself all happens a bit too fast. And ultimately you know there can only be one winner, so you dont really get too attached, despite how good the characters are. With AIB there's no telling what f-ing direction it would lead in to, what characters will or wont die, and what characters will truly make it to the end of the show. So (again imo) you are more emotionally invested because of the unpredictability of it all.

at the beginning of the ep, you can see the books of 3d geometry relating to cars like bmw and audi. it definitely proved to be advantageous for arisu in this game.

I'm not a big manga reader, but the manga for this is *insanely* good. Emotional, gripping, thought-provoking-and for me the execution of some of the side-games made a deeper impact by not featuring the main characters, but side characters instead. The Netflix show is great too, but the manga is a significantly richer experience, you'd be doing yourself an injustice to miss out on.

Loved the twist at the very end of the manga. Didn't really feel it at first, but when I let it sit for a few days and thought about the manga as a whole beginning to end, it really got my feels. Let's hope this live action doesn't disappoint.
