Even I am speechless. I did not know, there used to be unconventional instruments. When I listen to these old RD numbers I often wonder where did he produce magical sounds? Hats off to Panchamda and of course people like Homi who had the capabilities of producing what RD wanted.

इस होमी दादा के प्रोग्राम ने तो हमारी रात की नींद और दिन का चैन ही चुरा लिया है । काश अगर यह प्रोग्राम 12 घंटे का होता तो कितना अच्छा होता पर पर इस प्रोग्राम ने सिर्फ प्यासे को सिर्फ शबनम ही पिलाई है।

This is the quality of a real artist who was a human - Pancham, that even though he is no more but scores earn a living only because of his good work done then. Ofcourse he was a born talent.

What a genius but very simple and down to earth person. Jai ho Homi Mullan dada. SD and R D Burman were genius of genius as their team was compromised of all very genius musicians.
RD Burman had all the collections of musicians from all over the India who could not speak proper Hindi (even RD Burman)- of his team of musicians only few (two or three) could speak in Hindi.
But he was able to give top level Hindi songs !
This is what India is.
Unity in diversity! But today India is been divided on the basis of religion, language, caste and creed! RD and most of his team members were never comfortable with Hindi, yet were able to make beautiful Hindi song-this is INDIA! RD's song is INDIA not any politician's vomit!
What an unassuming and humble man! What he performed as a percussionist in RD Burman's eternal composition "Gulabi Aankhen jo maine dekhi--------" was a masterclass.
