I feel you. When I first saw Kim Jung Gi draw, I was so fascinated and mind blown by how it was done.
I began drawing even when I didn’t wanna draw, and kept doing it thinking about Kim Jung Gi. He made me never wanna give in, and never wanna give up.
Slowly through frustration, all the work became a habit, and slowly art became a part of my lifestyle. I cannot go a single day without art, and I cannot thank Kim Jung Gi enough, not just for his knowledge, but his remarkable dedication.
Having him gone now hurts. But I’m happy I was born in the right time to see such a master. Rest In Peace the goat, Kim Jung Gi.

Completely feel the same way. My chest physically hurts. He taught me the way of the clean line and so many other things. Inspired so many, introduced his work to people wishing to get better. Touched the lives of so many. Heart and thoughts go to his friends and family. The world has lost a sparkle. Saddest event to happen all year. ❤
Others unknown to him, will never comprehend the loss of such a beautiful mind and person.

I've struggled with perfectionism and a fear of failure when it comes to drawing. But with his passing I've decided I'm not going to let failure stop me anymore. Life is too short to worry about a few bad drawings. Even Kim jung gi made mistakes and he didn't let that stop him from drawing. He's an inspiration to me and I'm going fill up a ton of sketchbooks. He truly was an inspiration. His style was absolutely amazing, his creativity, everything. RIP Kim Jung Gi.

I'm still utterly shattered over his sudden passing. I always had a habit to watch his live drawings, hear him talk so humbly despite having such great talents whenever I felt down with art.
Now I'm crying so much and cannot believe that he's gone. I just want everything to be a prank and that he is still alive. Now that whenever I go on my social media, I see his drawings and just cannot stop crying. But now if he were still alive, I know he would say to young artists like me to continue drawing and keep going. I should never give up.
    It's so sad and tragic..

He literally worked until he dropped... I admire this man more than any historic slave owner or warmonger with the tag, Great...
To me, great artists are truly great, because they inspire lesser artists to work, work, work... even when they are exhausted, when they'd rather do anything but draw and paint.

@@alanlawrence2954 For big murals, he mentioned in an interview saying he did have to make some drafts and plan for the idea. Before he passed away, he was also performing at PSG match. We were seeing him drawing so effortless but he calculated a lot of things in his mind. Some friends of mine also thought he looked older than his age. Maybe he overworked himself too much and didn't take care of his health well so it led to such a tragic situation.

I may not have known him personally nor meet him but just seeing videos of him everywhere specially here on youtube, just gave me a gist/grasp on what kind of person he is. Learning Kim Jung Gi died yesterday really tore me up inside. He died so young, but managed to spend more hours drawing than many of us have been alive, and produced a mountain of unbelievably beautiful art. I'll greatly miss waking up and watching the superani livestreams, with him answering everyones questions, smiling, and cracking jokes. Art will never be the same without him. But I think now I understand what it means to wake up everyday and start drawing, even if I don't feel like it, and even if it's hard. Rest in peace Kim Jung Gi.

The man is a living computer of art. Entire worlds inside this man’s heart and soul. Suzanne Valadon said art was a monster that consumed people. If that is so it is, in the hands of those truly gripped by it, a beautiful monster. Nobody has earned the right to rest more than Gi, I don’t think there is another contemporary artist who gave us so much without a shred of pretension or posturing, but with sheer, breathtaking, baffling virtuosity. The first time lapse I ever saw of Gi’s was the village killing the dragon. I guess the village always wins, but why so soon? Thank you, for all of it, beautiful monster.

Stunned... the kind of innate, completely organic talent that only comes once in a lifetime... there was something incredibly profound in the way he grasped reality, perspective and depth, like very few ever have. There must have been a genetic advantage in his body or mind that allowed him such adept skill at visualization, perhaps something akin to how autistic children are extremely adept at certain tasks, or activities, like math, or music or a deep understanding of a specific subject matter. Because, the way he simply drew at will, and at ease, as if the lines flowed literally out of this fingers, without any hesitation.. like a waterfall that falls along the crevices and finds its way to the seas... that's how his line flowed.. unimpeded, clear, confident... finding and filling the space around just like the water fills the earth about. The most intricate figures and scenes. With pen and ink no less. No erasers needed. Keep drawing that flowing line in the afterlife Kim...

I don't think I will look at Kim's legacy ever the same, he was taken away from us too young, when I realised that my father is the same age, and is in prime health it became even more obvious to me.

정말 안타깝습니다. 그가 이 세상에 없다는게 아직도 믿겨지지 않습니다.

Such a horrible loss to the world for him to suddenly pass so early. It deeply pains me to think about it. He was such a huge inspiration to me always.. ugh. I was completely shattered when I heard of his sudden death. Thank you for posting this. I am so sad that I never took the time or spent the money to go meet him, when I still could. 🖤

Much love. I'm one more career artist heavily inspired by this man. His passion and fearless art gave me strength to be able to express myself fully too. I will continue to find inspiration in his work and spirit. RIP

Took me this long to articulate the way I feel about this icon. Only one thing comes to mind: as artists, we cannot hold back until tomorrow, or wait or believe we have until tomorrow to get the piece of our heart, soul, and mind into the world to lift up and inspire others to press on. We must be unafraid and simply create, in whatever medium, discipline wherever we are. The circle cannot be complete if creatives remain silent. Thank you Kim Jung Gi for your example of fearlessness.
