Iain Murray Rose (6 January 1939 - 15 April 2012) was an Australian swimmer, actor, sports commentator and marketing executive. He was a six-time Olympic medalist (four gold, one silver, one bronze), and at one time held the world records in the 400-metre, 800-metre, and 1500-metre freestyle (long course).

Interesting observation of Groucho that the 10K has never been won. Probably should have been a wakeup call to show controllers that they should have changed something in the show to make 10k potential closer to reality.

Wow, I didn't know that. My Mom and I used to listen to his radio show [Breakfast Club?] all the time.
I just looked it up on ImdB. Sure enough, he fired Julius LaRosa as you said because LaRosa had found himself an agent. Godfrey was known for discovering young talent and LaRosa was a recent find. Godfrey wanted people to be loyal to him.
When your name is Murray Rose, you are either a good-looking, blond athlete OR an old Jew from the Grand Concourse in the old Bronx.

Murray Rose talks about his healthy diet, which is vegetarian or maybe even vegan; no processed foods (I didn't think the 1950's had processed foods yet), no alcohol, etc. Wow, he was ahead of his time. Unfortunately, he died in 2012 at only 73 years young due to leukaemia. So, he did his part in staying healthy, but there's really nothing you can do to prevent leukemia. It's cancer of your blood cells caused by a rise in the number of white blood cells in your body.
A moderate amount of alcohol is typically better than no alcohol at all, as it seems to help rid the body of toxins.
We don't know if his habits changed.

@@KidMillions It is not just the alcohol that harms your body. For a lot of people it is what they do after imbibing on alcohol including smoking, eating unhealthy food, staying up late, losing sleep etc etc.
