  • Today I dive into a topic that I think a lot of fellow creatives can relate to: Dealing with negativity online and valuing yourself as an artist. I briefly touched on this subject on my instagram story, and I got so many wonderful responses that I thought I’d share my thoughts here on youtube.

    Wonderful video! Thank you sharing yourself. Most people probably won’t understand this, but an artist has a right to price their work at whatever amount they want. Kudos to you!

    I'll never understand people who attack small businesses for a $200 product when there is actual time and/or material that makes the product that valuable yet purchase Gucci and Tiffany products without issue. Not saying luxury items are bad to buy I just don't understand the double standard. Plus if you think something is too much you can simply not buy it.
    Your work is beautiful, don't let rude/ignorant comments get you down!

      It's a double standard for sure. I think we've generally accepted that luxury brands like you mentioned are expensive, so we don't question it. But when some people see an individual selling products for the same prices they see it as greedy or overpriced, not knowing what goes into it behind the scenes. I hope that sharing my work and my process helps people gain some insight into these things 😊 Thanks for your kind words ❤️

    Your pricing is reasonable and it could be even much higher. I also do ceramics and know that materials, utilities, and rent are expensive...and shipping. But everyone wants free shipping.

    i noticed you have a shimpo to whisper. i ordered one it came broken, i got another and it won’t start. is there any way you could reach out to me to see if we can figure out what’s wrong with mine???

      Oh that's a tough one! I'd recommend contacting either the company you ordered from, or Shimpo directly. I've never had any issues with my wheel so I don't know much about troubleshooting. Hope you can get it to work!
