Yuri went from damsel in distress in AOF 1, to kicker of ass, and taker of names in AOF 2, and even joined a female fighting group in KOF. She's totally awesome!
She took a big, BIG hit after that, however. A nearly useless hanger-on in AOF3, an erratic daddy's girl in the later KOFs, and in SVC Chaos she's freaking _regressed in age_ (and maturity). The saddest SNK character decay I've ever seen, and that includes Athena.

Yuri was never a strong character to begin with. Even though she became playable in AOF2, it is stated in her profile that her level is that of a novice and only taught by Takuma for self-defense. Gameplay wise, she's really fun to use. I have easier time with her than Mai or King.
I just love how she put Geese in his place! Her father and brother didn't have the same courage when fighting him.But even on defeat that damn bastard manages to look badass! What an epic game!
Only 16 likes. That's not right. This deserves a million likes. This game was much better and far superior to street fighter 2 of the same era. In Japan this game was bigger than anything from Capcom as was and still is SNKs following. Zooming sprites, better animation, the special move meter and gameplay with awesome sound. My favourite game. I liked Street fighter 2 as well, but this was much better. In the UK me and my friends played this everyday at our local chippy. I wished they made a decent port for this to the main stream consoles. I couldn't afford a neo geo. Capcom vs SNK was the only game that came close to the feel of the genres of that era in my oppinion. I got a Dreamcast last week just for the SNK fighters and some capcom games. With a scanline vga box on a LCD, the Dreamcast looks awesome playing 2d fighting games, but still no Art of Fighting 2. AOF3 wasn't as good as AOF1 and 2.

Characters like Dhalsim, M. Bison, Vega and Blanka were a breath of fresh air and the more simple nature of Street Fighter is one of its strengths. Although AoF 3 had less characters (and saddened that neither Takuma/Mr. Karate, Yuri or King were playable), attacks connecting after one another felt smooth as butter. I could actually pull a Haou Shoukou Ken without much trouble. Though the one thing AoF 2 has that the rest don't is Takuma. My ultimate main in most SNK fighting games, especially KoF XIII.
