I 100% agree with the garbage back door and standing dunks, but outside of that, this is my favorite 2k gameplay wise in years. Every card will not play the same and has a different feel. Having the cards have more moving mid range opportunities with some different layup packages is refreshing and much better than that garbage the last few years where leaning 3s ruled the game and every card could do it. Can’t have guys like Kobe and lebron just running around shooting moving 3s like Steph. Have to play to their style and be more crafty for sure and it’s more rewarding imo.

Damn...you expressed literally every single frustration i have with this game bro. I think more middys and floaters is the answer for offballers. 3 hunting is trash this year. Also, eurosteps work good too against offballers if you can kick it to corner for an open 3. Idk
Glad to hear some ranting and thoughts on the game 😂. The gameplay can drive ya crazy. Also this Kobe card is absurdly overpriced. When I tried him in mamba moments I knew they wrecked my favourite card. You said it yourself all the sigs in this game suck for iso so no card is fun or worth it anymore for how mid he is. Usually Kobe’s size up was the funnest in the game.
I love offballers, i assign 3pt plays for my Center, I have a few plays that the C defender has to get through 2 screens to get to his guy who will be wide open for 3... Its like pick your posion, you offball with your Center and leave his man open or come out to guard him to leave the rim open... I win 95% vs Offballers..... another method is assign Cut to the Rim with your Center, the offballer will meet him to the paint and lead pass to the mid or 3 for a open shot as the offballer will be late to contest... I created a scheme just for offballers, I love playing them

I agree with you bro the way this game is played online with everyone playing offball makes the game so frustrating to play against i never remember it being this bad because if you played offball defense previously the cpu could not contest shots idk why the devs changed things there always talking about creating a skill gap but in my opinion there done the opposite. So now in order to be successful you have to start playing offball defense and off ball defense has now become the Metta

The other problem I find when I on
Ball, x switch and rotate…I getKILLED on the boards even with Bron , Giannis and Kareem as my front court. So frustrating to play good defense, time your contests just to give up the offensive rebound and/or get the rebound and get immediately stripped.

When someone used to off ball in prior 2k’s those were the only games I was guaranteed to win now if you don’t off ball you don’t have a chance .. I can’t play like that
100% agree off ball gameplay is jus not good but u could use play like the 13 n 14 Miami heat play book is great to run plays with and try a bit a freelance 5 out gives a great chance of getting a 3 off from drive and kick especially if u want to use that kobie carde jus have access to a dive maybe dunk or lay if not u have a kick is really great for off ball people jus for help fyi

Off balling is a legit defensive strategy. You won't be successful at higher levels if you only play on ball defense. It needs to be a mix, which means you have to be very good at both. Once you're good at both, you can bait people off ball and get steals pretty much every possession with the guy you're controlling off ball if you're doing it right.
If it doesn't look skillful it's probably because you're not good enough to even trigger your opponents to try and bait you. You haven't seen it played well yet because they don't need to play it well against you.
I'm assuming you have a problem with people camping off of Centers who can't shoot. Well, 2k implemented a solution to that years ago with back cuts using either triangle on playstation or Y on X box.

2k: "This is the season of giving, as in, giving us your money." Anyone who remotely tries to justify getting kobe is a moron. And keep in mind. Yes you get a bunch of good cards along the way. But this is 250 dollars for a pink diamond. So at this rate what are galaxy opals and dark matters gonna look like just playerwise and lock in wise. Lets say that dark matters do end up being a million mt a piece. (Cause at this rate its definitely possible) And you buy a full dark matter team of 13 players. Thats almost 2,000 dollars. That's a stupid amount of money but i know plently of people will do it. Its amazing how greedy and disgustingly predatory this company is. Its unbelievable that this is even legal.
Everything you said is on point but the price of cards will drop as higher gems are released. PD’s should be very cheap once dark matters release.
