    Is Toyota dumb or stupid?? Now it's doing what Dodge and other American car manufacturers have done: bring back a legendary name to a present day lame car. The 1987 Corolla FX sure about 108 or 110 horsepower BUT it weighed 2, 141 pounds and had manual transmission
    The 2025 Corolla FX yes has 169 horsepower BUT it weighs 3, 060 pounds and IT HAS A CVT !!!!! Uuughh
    What a WASTE!!!

      I completely agree! I believe the usage of the "FX" badge was nostalgic only, as using the full "FX16" would warrant a different type of car - something like a RWD manual transmission hatchback.
      In the Toyota portfolio, they have a GR Yaris outside the US which could be thought of by some as the successor to the FX16, albeit, AWD
      In regards to the weight and horsepower, I think if it was at least tuned to 180hp, fitted with bigger brakes, dropped to 2700-2800 pounds and was given a manual, it would have been a fantastic decision. Surely it wouldn't be a competitor to the Type R or Integra Type S (if they applied this packing to the current Corolla Hatchback, but, it would cost significantly cheaper, get over 40mpg, be naturally aspirated, be light and nimble, and (most likely) offer probably 80-85% of the performance for about 60-70% the price. It'd be way too much to ask for a RWD or AWD sporty Corolla/Corolla hatchback (not including the current AWD hybrid) but PLEASE, lose the CVT. ALL OF THEM, from ALL Car companies.
      If not a butter smooth, snappy manual, then at least fitting a tried and true 6-7-8-9-10 speed transmission in any of these cars (from all car companies) would be far better (in my honest opinion)
      Once again, that you SO much for watching & commenting - I truly appreciate it
