I think the front of the owl mode body could use an upgrade kit, but this figure looks great. Agreed they should do a Studio Series version.

This is a great little figure. You can tell the designers are having fun with all-new characters.
I really wish the designers had switched the eyes. The robot mode should have had the narrow eyes and the beast mode should have had the big round eyes. It just looks weird the other way around. Also, since Nightshade’s altmode was scanned from an owl statue, does that count them as a gargoyle?
Now that's a first I have never heard someone say something about a gargoyle transformer

I think the original Monsterbots, one of those was based on a Gargoyle as well.
With the new rock-based toyline (Armour-izers), maybe we'll get a proper stone-textured Gargoyle, that'd be neat

I'm super happy they get a figure and with such high praise from you of all creators! Usually beastformers are plagued with issues but you sang praise definitely picking them up for myself

i don't give a hoot for the character, but the action figure looks great.
I had to look for a video because i didn't understand what to do with their legs after everything else was transfromed.
It took me a while to get the owl mode's legs out because i was afraid to push too hard, the same issue i had with Twitch's chest.

Love this character. Their robot mode looks like a golden age superhero and they transform into a cool Art Deco owl.

You have the owl mis-transformed. The robot mode arms have tabs that go into slots on the sides of the robot mode legs.
This figure is really awesome. The engineering immediately impressed me after holding it for the first time.
I just wish that Earthspark figures' scales aren't allover the place, because I'm a scale-nut. Would be nice to see Twitch in Core class size.

Earthspark deluxe line saves its best for last. The others are either Cyberverse remold/recolor (OP, Grimlock, Shockwave), out of scale (Twitch) or just inferior (megs vs warrior megs). Surprisingly warrior class has some really good ones like Jawbreaker, Thrash and Megatron. I wonder if they will make SS ones in a few years..but maybe when they run out of video game and even Cyberverse characters.

I like the concept, but that is barely a transformation. Way too many gaps, and a cluster of hinges doth not a chest make.

Where does his owl wings go in robot mode? Because the onscreen character model has what looks like P-80 shooting star wings that pop out of his back (with an appropriate jet noise to boot when flying in robot mode)

Considering how their transformation from owl to robot and vise versa is basically impossible in real life for a toy, I have to say the designers did an amazing job with Nightshade

Balt keeping the Cool Uncle vibe by respecting the character's identity was so nice, love watching your vids because of the vibe. I also think that their eyes are a bit scary which is weird since They had a very normal look as a protoform

I think for a nightshade figure, the green and silver suits them very well. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad there’s representation in Transformers EarthSpark, it’s just that I wish the torso piece for Dr. Mandroid came with a different figure, like thrash. But, I hope we get a deluxe figure for him in EarthSpark season two.

Even without the controversary-which was entirely forced upon Transformers fans by agenda pushers-that transformation is too simple to be interesting. While he does have a nice, shiny paint job and a rather underutilized owl mode, I am skipping him and all other Earthspark figures.

I don't care that they gave Nightshade Pro-nouns (they're not born of cybertron but are earth-based terran-bots so at least there's some degree of thought behind it).

What I found problematic is how they introduced it in the show.
Prime stumbling as to what pronouns to call Nightshade was dumb, clumsy & awkward.

Felt like it was shoe-horned into the script as it made zero sense as to why Prime would start addressing a fellow bot using pro-nouns?

Typically, these shows would use the bot's name at every given opportunity (instead of pronouns) since they're glorified toy-commercials & want kids to memorise their names so they know which ones to nag their parents for.

Reason they added the they/them pronouns was part of Hasbro's, 'Diversity, Equity & Inclusion' & their 'ESG' (Environmental, Social & Governance) policy goals.
It's very corporate (with arbitrary targets eg, 50% female representation, racial representation, etc..), with a political push to promote ''LGBTQIA2S+'' (though they don't seem to push that agenda in SIngapore which only legalised male homosexuality in 2022).

Not sure if they get promotional grants or tax rebates for pushing these politisized & divisive agendas?
