He does speak to us. Many decades ago, our family was having financial problems. To the point I was a mental wreck. I felt that I needed to pray. I went to the central bathroom in our apartment and shut the doors and turned off the light. I started praying about all the financial worries I was under.
This gentle voice interrupted me and said "Give thanks". The voice caught me by surprise. I started thanking God for the trees, the sun, the earth...all sorts of things. The same voice interrupted me again, saying "No. Give thanks for what you have."
I obeyed. I gave thanks for my wife, my son, my job, our car, apartment, health etc. A different voice interrupted me this time. So very silent yet fully understandable. I could feel the powerful love in that voice. "All this I have given you. Not one thing will I take away."
I wept. I will never forget that in my life. Thank you God.

My war room is in my chair in the living room between 1230 am and 4 am. It is a great time to pray.
It sounds like you use an unusual time to transform an otherwise ordinary chair into God's throne room.
My prayer time. Worship time. alone time with The Father does not begin or end on the net! Never has. "Fortification" begins and end outside of the perview of the enemy! Lesson learned as a child. I Thank you LORD!

If you feel life has been unfair to you. Sometimes you need to let go of some things such as toxic friends, draining relationships and focus on God then your dreams, vision and goals.

Amen! I totally agree with you on that. I recently had to remove a toxic friend out of my life because she would mock my faith and try to criticize and bring be down in many ways. I prayed about it and I had to do what was right for me. I tried to share the love that Jesus has for her, but she refused. I continue to pray for her soul. It's a battle that we face and sometimes the enemy can use people to destroy your walk with God. I felt a little sad to let go, but I know it was the right thing to do. Blessings to everyone! 🙏😊
@@fran413 I had a friend of 50 years who became toxic in our adult years. She was the same, not wanting to believe in God but rather "an energy". This friend dealt in the occult, Jehovah's witnesses and is now attending Quaker meetings whilst being an editor of an occult magazine. I've prayed for her . From my view point we are no longer friends which is sad after such a long friendship
God has removed so many people so called friends, family and even those who claim to be Christian's yet they don't believe in old testament only the new testament. But my closest enemy toxicity is my Spouse of over 30 yrs who is very abusive, an a narcissist says, he he hates me for being a Christian. Please pray agreement with me that ABBA Father removes this thorn from my side already, for I know his grace is sufficient and by his Stripes I am healed, in Christ Jesus Name, Amen. 😭

As a teenager I would pray on my knees for 2 hours every morning and before bed, I used to love to pray on a tiny little island by the Puget Sound, with the breeze coming from every direction,some of my favorite Prayer/Bible study times was at 5:00 AM at White Castle, loved it,hated to leave, couldn't wait for the next day to see what God had to show me in his word.
I'm truly grateful for the ministry of Dr. Stanley. His life touched my life. May he rest in peace with our Heavenly Father.

If you have been struggling to pray to God, this is probably one of the most relevant messages to help you to pray. Take a small step at a time, ultimately you would achieve the will of God for your needs in praying to Him. God knows your heart. Stay steadfast and never ease in praying.
YM Yap , been praying to God for a long time, for peace, healing & forgiveness (received very little forgiveness in life). Experienced how fast Christians forgot me (no real support). I’m low-income & can’t drive. Cried many times & believe God doesn’t listen (only ignores).
As a believer, we need perseverance and endurance by faith to overcome the storms in our life. God promises us that he will not leave us and fore sake us in bad time and in good times. God is our shelter and refute. We must continue to trust and believe God is our ultimate healer and vindicator. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Be still and patient as you continue to pray for your needs. God will deliver you in his time.

@Cathy, I did my best for God. Evangelized on the streets. Prayed & prayed & prayed. I did NOT ask God for billions of dollars. I’m hanging on by a thread. Don’t think the Lord wants me happy (only lonely & miserable)...Don’t hammer a person about sin quickly; you don’t know them nor their situation. That’s why people leave the Faith, due to being judged hard by other Christians (like you), instead of helping or being a friend to those in need.
@Paula, same ole guilt trip lecture from another Christian...No hugs from Christians like you. Only talk about sin. That’s all I heard since I was a kid (“sin”, “hell”, “the devil”, etc). No compassion nor authentic caring heart for those who hurt & struggle. Christians beating other Christians down (sad but true).

I can understand the need for a room or atleast a space to pray. There were many times throughout my life that i had no privacy at all and stole alone moments when those who shared the room with me goes to the bathroom that i quickly went but with much relief get on to pray like i want to-meeting God-me as I am and Him. That's what this is about, no doubt we can pray unceasingly throughout the day, but for that special moment when you just want to bask in His presence, or pour your heart out.. worship Him, sing to Him..i want that quiet and alone time without witness.
I am thankful to hear your words, " pray without ceasing". As a young person, I realized I was praying, talking to God, on my bus to school. I had been worrying that I did not pray enough...
And I asked the Lord...
"He stopped me and said, 'What are you doing now?'. I was praying. I find myself talking to the Lord when I am driving and worshipping and singing while doing the dishes... much love to you in Jesus Christ! Amen.

If you can't have a physical prayer room you can make it in your heart.So where ever you go it's always with you.If you can't physically kneel down you can do it in any position as long as you bow down to God in your heart with a humble heart which will be shown in your character,a humble gentle character.So pray,pray and pray .I do pray even when I do jogging for physical fitness and I end up with spiritually and physically fit to face any situation in life of course I know with the grace,mercy and blessings of our Lord Jesus Christ!Also offer all good things you do to God as a prayer in addition to time alone with God of course.Life will be a continuous joyful gift of God in that way.Praise be to God!,..Great sermon! My oldest son life was taken out of jealousy in 200& then in 2/22 my son who LwY stated be was my baby and my other son sS the youngest die after a ex girlfriend caused him to vo in cardiac arrest. The fight for life wasn't on my side. I only could sleep with Dr Charles Stanley videos and people praying for me. God bless him to be a true man of God Almighty. I loved your sermon. Myself, im living in a domestic violent environment. Sharing a room. I can't afford to move. I work, have 3 children and for no ones fault, my parents and older brothers can't help, they all died. I pray through noise, yells and criticism. Hearing the sermon made sense. If I pray, its in front of others. I don't want to stop praying. I pray everywhere, especially for a home to pray, study in. Dr. Stanley just pray for me. God Bless

If you are having trouble with lust as I am please go into your room than close your door on your knees. Than ask God to help you and be still. Finally, stay calm and be silence until the lust goes away.
If it comes back repeat the process and if you failed its ok because God will forgive you and want you to try again.

The Bible tells us to rebuke the devil and he will flee. Rebuke that spirit of lust out loud in the name of Jesus. It is a continual thing because he is after us all the time. But rebuke him and he WILL flee.

This message has acquired a new meaning. I am Presbyterian but I recently drove into a Catholic Church last Friday early morning to pray. I got so much peace after that. My heart was bursting at the seams with burdens when I went in but came out lighter. 🙏🙏. Talking about a place to pray reminds me of the song " Moses take your shoes off, you are on Holy ground"
I remember when I love with my cousin, she made my life so difficult since I was after completing my 8th grade after I dropped out of school due to early pregnancy ..at 15 I had my girl, I couldn't find a place to pray in that home and I never felt safe without prayers, I do come back from school and go straight to the toilet to meet with God, I would pray morning before going to school and when back home, I saw God fighting for me throughout my journey.
God told me Charles Stanley is a general in his army. He has a very intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. He loves to be in Gods presence. He is truly a blessing.
I love the message, because it's the truth, we should have a prayer room. I had one for many years, God provided it for me. All these things that Dr. Stanley stated, I experience and do. We are in a war, this is the place where we learn how to fight and get equipped.
Amen! At home I have my prayer closet but at my in-laws I really don't have one except in the bathroom. I've been staying there for a week and have a week to go. Good sermon I needed to hear this message for real. With the way things are going these days you need to know how to deal with your enemies God's way and not using your own plans and strength. Vengeance is mine says the Lord and he will deal with your enemies God's way. I enjoy listening to pastor Stanley because he tells it like it is as if, he's your grandpa. Awesome WORD. It is so relevant for today. Nearly five years ago while in the hospital. I was about to transition out. I shared with my supervisors at the job I was working at in the hospital, when I get out of the hospital into an apartment of my own I wanted two bedrooms because one I was going to make into a prayer room. A place where I can go uninterrupted to pray and worship GOD. Thank YOU GOD for affirming my desires to have a closer, intimate relationship with YOU. Thank you Mr Stanley Sr for serving God and giving me a good example of how to serve God and how i really need to go about serving the father. I burn with passion to honor God in a fear I can't explain but its of love and respect and God blessed me and open my eyes. Thank you Sr for helping God help me. Pray that the lord keeps opening my eyes and removes my evil spirits i have lingering from past sin. I can't explain what's happening to me but i want it and im giving God my all to honor and serve him.
