- Join me in the adventure that was SacAnime 2021! I tabled in the Indy Zone for the very first time, had the best con I've ever sold at, and talk about some things I learned to improve for the next show!

Friends!! I'm so excited to bring you my very first Artist Alley Vlog, and my experience back at a convention for the first time in almost two years! I was at SacAnime in the Indy Zone this year, and Ryan & I had such a blast.
If you're unfamiliar, Indy Zone is a section of the Artist Alley where you can only sell original artwork (meaning no fan art allowed!). This was my first time selling in this capacity, and I was blown away by the support. This was my best show I've ever sold at, by double!
We saw reports that over 10k people attended the show over the 3-day holiday weekend, and that is just so exciting to me! I think this was the first big convention in Northern California since early 2020, so we really lucked out there~
After each show, Ryan and I always like to discuss what parts of my display fell short for the customer experience, and what we can do to better that for the next one. Our next show is right after SacAnime, so we had to think fast and make some adjustments! I also discuss theft and what I've done to prevent it moving forward.
I hope you enjoy this vlog, it was quite a lot of fun to make! Did I see you at the show? Leave me a comment!

Oh man that’s an amazing idea with the Christmas storage box! I am sorry to hear that someone stole something! It’s really heartbreaking that people could do that to small business…
The christmas box has really come in handy!! I can't fit as much inventory as I'd usually like, but it has made the entire experience so much better~
Wow! Looks like you had a successful Con! Congratulations! Sorry to hear about your items being robbed. The theft-proof solutions you guys came up with are so smart! I might have to steal some of your display ideas! Lol! No pun intended! 😂 Keep up the great work!
Thank you!! ^^ The solutions I came up with have been tried and true so far, so please feel free to use them on your own display!!
That’s is amazing that you could walk away from that con and know everything that was sold was YOUR art! That has to be a great feeling and you should be so proud of that! I hope to get to that point as well!
It's really quite a rush to do so well selling only your own designs!! And even though I've introduced some fanart back into my inventory, the original stuff still does a lot better QwQ
I'm so glad I had the chance to see your booth! One of my friends recommended your stuff to me. I also wanted to state that I'm sorry for the frustrating experience that happened to you during SacAnime. A few fellow artists have also told me about times when they've had stuff stolen from their booths and how they had to adapt from it. Unfortunately it can be a frustrating trial and error experience when it comes to displays, but the way you've shown how you approach it seems like some great ideas without sacrificing your booth's design/opportunity for customer interaction. I hope over time, future events are a lot less painful and more fun for you!
I'm so glad you got to come by too!! Will you be at Sac Winter in January? I'll be back in the Indy Zone again~ And yeah theft always ruins the mood! Luckily the hot glue trick has worked wonders, and I haven't had to worry about sticky fingers since!
The Pokemon backpack is so cute!!
One of Ryan’s favorites! 😂
I am so glad to hear that the con went well for you! And I really appreciate you sitting down at the end of the vlog to talk about your experience as well, it was really helpful for me. I have done a couple of art fairs/festivals, but I'd love to do some cons around my area in the future. So hearing your experience and what you've learned is very insightful for a novice like me. I will say that my partner and I also like to do what you and Ryan do after events though - it's really nice to have a very supportive person to offer their own suggestions and insights as well. I call my partner my "emotional support human" and I honestly couldn't do in-person events without him. So I'm glad you seem to have someone like that as well!
Sorry to hear about the thefts though. I will never understand people like that. Especially another vendor doing it. 0.o Sigh... Your solutions were perfect though. I particularly loved the clear stickers/moss display. It's beautiful! I'm excited to see your next artist alley vlog for your next event as well! :D
Thank you!! Yeah, I truly couldn't do any of this without Ryan! We were chatting recently on how it would go if I had two events in the same weekend and had to find someone to proxy sell for me, and I just don't know the answer to that because I would need him with me!
I hope you're able to table at some cons soon! It's such a different experience from art fairs!!
I'm glad you did well at the con! Your booth definitely stood out very well amongst all the darker-colored ones around you! The way you theft-proof your items is genius as well!
Thank you!!! The pink is always a good choice for standing out~
Congrats on your success, & sorry that you got stolen from! Thank you for sharing your tips~
Thank you so much! And it’s okay, it was an important lesson learned!
Looks like you had so much fun! And I'm glad you changed your mind and went to winter SacAnime!
I’m so glad too, I had a blast getting to know you guys! 🥺💖
Im glad that things went well for the most part, and each time is a learning experience as well ^^
You have my support as well!
I hope to sell at a convention this year as well being one of my goals!
Im so sad i was going to go to sac anime but I didnt have a place to stay in sacramento cus it was too expensive. I was so exited to try and say hi at your stand!
I'm so bummed we missed you! I'll get to see you soon though, I'm sure!
Where can I find a Ryan? They sound very helpful 😂
I was lucky enough to find mine ~20 years ago in jr high! 😂 I hope you can find one soon!
I was with it until you said, "no more pizza". That's why we can't work together.
LOL to be fair, I only said that because we had very greasy pizza for dinner one night up there, and it wrecked me the next morning XD
