That's a great paint job! The chipping and rust effects are very realistic. It would be nice to see it in action on your wargames table. Thanks for two great videos.
Moving parts like pistons (or tread links/road wheels etc) won't show any rust, especially in the conditions you describe. The muffler/exhaust definitely would show the rust though. Nice looking model, I'll have to get one for my Germans!
John Barb I prefer Vallejo overall and I do use their paints primarily. For this one, though, I also used several Army Painter paints to get the colors I wanted. I also used some of the Citadel effects range for some of the rusting.
I think the vehicle design is kinda silly. These things are not going to be on the front line like a tank would and it just seems a point drain for a howitzer to have such heavy armor. Anyway, nice paint and keep it WEIRD!
