- A Liebherr Mobile Crane, type LTC 1045-3.1 during a really interesting operation in the historic town of Carcassonne (Unesco world heritage) in 2013.
This compact crane is a special crane for applications in restricted surroundings, and is particularly compact and manoeuvrable - two very important facts during the oepration in Carcassonne, France. The LTC 1045-3.1 allows crane operation to be carried out without hindrance in restricted areas.

The people commenting got it all wrong. It is amazing that Liebherr saw the need for a crane to lift on and off the hvac units. A smart design for a crane.

C’est une très bonne machine avec laquelle je travail régulièrement depuis presque 1 an.
Son seul défaut c’est d’avoir une petite cabine et donc pas trop de place pour amener un sac ou une glacière quand on part pour la journée..
Ormi sa c’est une excellente grue mobile et la cabine qui peut se lever jusqu’à 8m de haut c’est un bon avantage sur certain chantier pour voir ce qu’il se passe 👍🏻🏗

Come on Liebherr. You're a well renowned crane company and yet in on of your own videos the wrong lifting tackle is used. Bigger shackles required 🤦🏻♂️

@@PatricioGarcia1973 I don't do recovery or anything like that and I can tell you that that the breaking point would be that shackle because of how small it is; the hook didn't even go through. (too much stress)
Your right, those shackles are too small for those hooks but the load they just picked was not really much of a load

I bet they did full computer modeling of that roadway including the set up location to ensure that the crane would fit and the road would support the weight of the crane before they showed up. You have to be an idiot to show up with that crane and hope it will fit. This was a well planned deployment.

It is a cool concept and good crane for the most parts. But, it has its problems and design flaws. First, there is a lot of sensor errors, and it has way downgraded lifting chart for its size. Then the cabin is way way too small and has no room at all for storing things, and working in a small room like this for extended time is not good, Liebherr could easily make it a lot longer and wider. Then it is the removable box, it is clever idea and is useful in tight situations, but if you need to lift the boom to utilise this feature then you need to put the crane in crane mode and then the undercarriage is locked and you lose all traction. And as a all terrain crane you should have and you need to have traction when driving in crane mode, and especially if you are on a gravel or uneven surface, that's just common sense and matter of a practicality. Also when driving in crane mode then this crane needs a slover driving speed and a smoother uptake. I have been working inside in a tight space and i had to move the crane (LTC 1045-3.1) just few meters and it just goes way to fast to properly control the maneuvering in the tight space. But the working aspect of this crane is a dream. It is very smooth operator, It's the ergonomics and the human interface that Liebherr could adjust and improve. Jolly Good show...
