Not a big O’Leary fan, but he’s right about a lot of stuff here, especially Branson.
No one complained about Branson when he funded the Remain campaign or bought NHS services?
kal77uk that doesn’t justify anything
Agreed
O.Leary is a jerk. Like the rest of Ireland they can beg the EU for subsidy.
I would not trust Mick O’Leary on anything.
Can we take a moment to appreciate his cheetah background
Or even his cheater background 😁

It’s spot on !

Talk about calling a spade a spade 😂😂😂 best interview iv seen during this covid 19 yet...bit on branson sitting on his island as a tax exile was a favourite 😂😂

He seems to generally always talks sense.
He mostly talks sense

@@apexduplex7351 O'Leary is probably one of the best and adept CEO's in the World hence his long tenure at the helm of a highly profitable airline! Shareholders and bond holders clearly are backing my sentiments otherwise he would have gone years ago! However, one only is as good as your last set of financials!
Not generally an O'leary fan but everything said in that clip appeared spot on.
Have to agree
And while he can be an asshat, he pays personal taxes in ireland rather than running off to a tax haven. Ireland may be a corporate tax haven but not an individual one and O'Leary is frequently the largest tax payer in the state.
Not generally a fan of common sense so.
The four dislikes are from Richard Branson and family

True Branson pay yourself I will not fly Virgin again
branson should get virgin money to give him a loan !
Genius - that made me smile, very witty, love it

Branson does not own all the equity of V Money, just like V Media. Owns a few percentage points, of each and gets license fees for use of his brand.
Suzanne Bellamy According to the press, he is not getting any monies. So very pleased, as he has been a tax exile, for fourteen years.
Suzanne Bellamy bloody hell no lol, I own virgin money shares.haha ... Branson is a complete sycophant...but he is a globalist.
Richard Branson should be ashamed of himself. He can sell his island and bail himself out !!!
Charlie Brefo That would be a bad investment. Why invest your money when government handing it out? Business people don’t throw good money after bad.
This is the thing he doesn't want to forego his riches, he wants to maintain all.. What a greedy little man.
@@Luvliv89 Say that again !! Gorden Ramsey and Victoria Beckham should also be really ashamed !!!! They are all rich enough to bail themselves out !!
Charlie Brefo, Richard does not need to sell his island, he has enough money anyway
Who says it's possible for him to sell it in current circumstances? Who says anyone would buy it? British ppl will lose out on a quality airline and be left with low quality ones
Branson charges people £60.000 per night to stay on his Island. This income is tax free . He needs to do the decent thing and pay his staff out of his own pocket.
Mr. O’Leary hit the nail on the head with regards to Lufthansa and Virgin.
This man at least is not out to fleece the taxpayer! And he talks a good measure of common sense, these days.
no he os just fleecing his customers by not paying refunds
Good man Michael. Who needs diplomacy in this day and age??!!!

Robert Allardice yes of course. He’s a resident, he must pay tax.

So do I. The kettle's in a different room and they sound better from there.
Ha brilliant....straight talking Irish man 🇮🇪
The only Irish I’ve ever heard talk straight.
Ryanair are in fact one of the easiest and simplest airlines to get a refund from in normal circumstances (as long as your flight was cancelled or the airline was at fault). I'm sure they're doing their best.
Not my experience. And not what statistics say. This climate change denier wants free adverts here again
@@MrPhelimdoran People like to complain about Ryanair; however, they offer many the opportunity to travel who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford it. Nothing wrong with free advertising; means your flights are cheaper! They've improved significantly on the refund front over the past decade or so and have a very clear refund policy. Coronavirus has hit all airlines equally when it comes to refunds and extended waiting times. MOL likes to occasionally down play climate change but at least he does it using facts. I'm not saying that we shouldn't look after the environment (we absolutely should) but there are many more industries that put out a much higher volume of green house gas emissions whilst gaining less reward. Aviation is one of the most efficient industries out there and trust me, if airlines could have more efficient planes and pay a lower price for fuel, they would. Just wanted to bring up these few points.
Very good with refunds Ryanair, also the flights are a bargain.
Talking out your arse, not too hard to realise your not the only person in the world
@@ChidiLifts I have recently been refused refunds by Eithad and Condor both large carriers. In early January I was provided a refund by Ryanair in 10 minutes on live chat, the money entered my account in 8days.
Watching this, I'm actually considering telling Ryanair to not worry about my refund, the can keep it for O'Leary telling it like it is!
Fully agree with the guy Branson is a leach.
JL H At least Branson is putting up some collateral to guarantee the loans. That is probably why this guy is pissed off. Branson isopening a can of worms that this guy is not prepared to do.
@@claudemaassen2963 Actually, Branson was denied a bailout request by the government due to the fact that he had little to no reasoning on why he deserves it, so he then went up and put his island in the caribbean as collateral. Why didn't he do that at first, he's got a hotel in Africa, he can put that up for collateral, he's got enough money!
Claude Maassen and Branson is a billionaire, who essentially owns the company.
O’Leary is a wealthy man,but not in the same league as Branson.
Also O’Leary doesn’t own the company,only the CEO,owning roughly 4% of shares .

Michael O’Leary speaks the truth and sense. The man is honourable . We need more people like him on business.
Yes we do, I was very surprised by his answers but I do respect him just a tad more for an honest interview
It has been pointed out to me that it doesn't just affect Branson, it affects his employees, well, here's the solution, Branson uses a portion of his fast fortune to pay the wages of those people for the remainder of the year, he would still be a multi billionaire with more money than everyone I know put together at the end of it, maybe he could offload that island he owns to help, I mean, were going through a bit of a time, needs must and all that like the rest of us, simple really.
Also, let's mention Virgin Health, and Branson's fits about that.
Except he can do what he wants with his money if he doesn't get any assistance

people will still fly ryanair when all of this is over because people still like cheap flights and people forget things easily
Enough said fly ryan air. Taxes stay local..
I agree 100% with him, but still not flying Ryanair again. Once was enough
The last time I flew Ryanair, I ended up dropping a bag om two women's heads, sitting in the wrong aisle and then had to take someone else's window seat (that they paid extra for) because she couldn't get past the elderly man to my right. All in one flight. Think I'll just fly aer lingus next time
From what I've ready, 'never' is enough.
Ryanair still has a strong balance sheet so he's eyeing up competitors in the same way as Lufthansa are. Difference is O'Leary isn't looking for a state handout to do it.
Maybe Branson should get a loan from Virgin money.
Love love this man. Flying with Ryanair for over 15 years up to 6-7 times a year. Was happy out to take a credit note for flights missed as tbh once there back in the air I will be booking. As for Micheal o leary is a straight talking Irish man doesn't mix his words. Carry on M.
Man this is the first sensible person ive heard on the news for a while

Not working class. Came from relative privilege.

He is very good. Speaks the truth.
Love the sky without both of them diving into it
after all this enjoy staying in this country more.it makes sense.
That's the main reason we are seeing less air pollution.

It's the first thing that got me....Michael is the KiNg of trolling
This is the same man who would sack his mother if he could save 10p.. Ryan air trying to promote themselves by pointing out virgin greed doesn't make Ryan air a fair company
He’s not asking for a public bailout like the others. I think that’s fair. Ryanair work off a cheap flights and low customer service model, it works.
He got his "no frills airline" ideas from "Flight Of The Phoenix" (1965).
A great airline
