Happy 100th Birthday Tyrone Power! Boy were you one handsome guy and a good actor! Happy Birthday Alice Faye. You and Ty look good in all you movies and you were one terrifc actress.Miss you both!
Beautiful voice. I have in my belongings a vinyl record of Alice Faye. I think that her most hit was You'll never Know. Good old times. Good old music, not old, for it is an evergreen song
just coz you're late to the party doesn't mean she was underrated ... she was the biggest drawing movie star in the country for several years - just how is that underrated?
This clip is awesome! Alice Faye is beautiful, the character is feisty, and that outfit is fantastic -- those shoes! The feathers! And what a great alto voice, perfect for the "brassy" character here and ragtime in general. Altos do not get enough love.
I loved Alice Faye the first time I saw her in the Shirley Temple movie, "Poor Little Rich Girl." I will always remember her singing "You Gotta Eat Your Spinach, Baby."
Would you believe me if I said that quite a number of years ago I photographed a latin dancer at the latin and ballroom championships in Bournemouth I think who looked EXACTLY like Alice faye?
The (few) existing clips and films of Alice Faye are among the strongest arguments for film preservation to be made. Personally I relate to this because... [edited]
I read the Berlin stole much of this song from Scott Joplin who present non copy righted material to Berlin's publishing business. Is the theft clear and pervasive?
*108 years old and this song is still delightful* !!
Lovely and talented Alice Faye. Always wonderful.

More like contralto, wasn't she?
The ideal voice.
@@doughelms558 Yes. 'Alto' is a vocal part in a choir and 'contralto is a type of voice.
@@JRobbySh Yes
Today I found that this great man didn't read or write music. He used a system that help him compose without knowing to read or write music Incredible

David Mehnert how are Alice Faye's movies lost? In recent years 20th Century Fox has released over 20 of her full-length films on DVD.
what the hell are you talking about? her movies are all available on CD
As far as I know, her work is still out there. Her studio just does a lousy job putting it out there.
Wait til the Sun shines, Nellie; My Wild Irish Rose; Little Liza, I love you; Five Foot Two = my favorite B S
