    Ciao Marc, this Massimo from Italy. Because an health problem I can't drive my motorbikes anymore and I have to buy an ATV like the CForce 800 or 1000. In 2011, when I was still sound, I've crossed USA coast to coast, from Delaware to Oregon, by motorbike, alone, 90% of the trip was in off road. Obviously I've bought a roadbook. I'm the first italian that did this trip. Now I'm thinking to do the same trip on an ATV. The roads you have filmed are the same I did the first time, what memories! Thank a lot Marc and sorry for my rusty english. Massimo.

    Excellent review Marc! I concur completely. I love mine here in Ontario. I agree that the turning radius is definitely like trying to turn a bus around. I do however have one well two (constructive) gripes and both are heat related. First is my seat gets so hot it becomes an excuse to stop and take a break. Second, is don't put anything plastic in the rear storage. I had my rain suit in there and it glued itself from the muffler heat so bad I had to throw it out. I wish the muffler was straight out the back (like the 600) not sideways and almost touching the rear storage. P.S. If you, and I am, still experimenting with the rear suspension while you are riding, better take a pair of oven mitts with you or do it with a cold exhaust. I have no more fingerprints from fine tuning the RR damping clicker. Having shared those comments with you though, I do love my Overland (and that's a comment from a guy who wears Polaris underwear, but now also wears a cfmoto hat too) !

    Thanks for the honest, balanced review! I bought an Overland last month. The 2023 Overland was going up $1000 Canadian over the 2022 Overland. Plus CFMOTO Canada had a $750 manufacturer rebate on 2022s and the dealer rounded that up to $1000 (thanks Kelowna Power Sports). So the 2022 cost me $2000 less than the 2023 would have!

    I have a 2022 Cforce 1000 (not the overland) and I really like your videos. You are right, the turning radius sucks and the machine does put off a lot of heat. But it's also, as you mentioned, extremely comfortable, stable and powerful. No it won't defeat a Canam 1000 in a race but that was never my goal, although I understand a ECU flash and a couple other minor upgrades can get you over 90 hp. Anyway thanks for the video, love your trails. Much smoother than our NS trails

  • @lawsonlandry3877
    @lawsonlandry3877 Před 2 lety

    looked hard at one, beautiful looking, but a Polaris now in price is not far off from it, and the lack of turning radius stopped me from buying one years ago, plus reliability issues i do a lot of tight hard wooded trails, i need to be able to maneuver.

  • @PragmaticTornado
    @PragmaticTornado Před 3 lety +4

    Is it powerful enough to do a wheelie? Not that it's super important, but wheelies are fun sometimes. I'm considering one of these, but it will be mostly for fun (but also for plowing snow in the winter). Unfortunately, the dealer doesn't have one of these for test drives, so I'd have to buy it untested.
    Moving to a farm at the end of a gravel road, and something like this would be super helpful during the winter (and very fun). Been more into bikes for many years, but they have grown stale for me, so I'm looking for something different, that can also be used for practical stuff.

    • @PowerSportsQuebec
      @PowerSportsQuebec Před 3 lety +1

      It can wheelie but youll need to tune the cvt. Its a porky 1000+ lbs wet so… act accordingly. It's a torque monster compared to polaris and Can-Am down low and that's a good part of the reason I like it so much in the tight stuff.
      When you're dow a little more than 10 hp you really notice ut up top where the can-am with the same engine layout will stomp all over it passed 70 kph and never look back.
      I like this machine a lot and it can do the work like plowing with ease

    • @danlux4954
      @danlux4954 Před 3 lety +1

      Long wheelbase always hard to wheelie.

    • @PragmaticTornado
      @PragmaticTornado Před 3 lety +4

      @@PowerSportsQuebec Never got a notification about your reply. Yeah I found out myself that it's no wheelie monster - went ahead and bought one. Ridden it for 6 hours now. It's still pretty powerful though, and loads of fun. Fairly quick even with a passenger. Only ever tried a Polaris Sportman 570 before, and that was extremely sluggish and boring on the road - but of course fun off-road.
      Was hesitant to buy a Chinese brand, but so far it seems to be working out. Doesn't feel like a cheap vehicle at all, and since my dealer voluntarily chose to start selling CFmoto, abandoning Polaris in the process (Polaris said they couldn't sell both, so my dealer chose CFmoto), I assume it is a solid brand.
      Bonus points for possibly being the nicest looking ATV in this segment. I wouldn't mind 15 extra hp, but it really doesn't need it.

    I am not a huge fan of anything made in China, mostly because their government is horrible to their own people and they are known for stealing intellectual property. The majority of the brand are cheap with the goal of being cheap on purpose. However, CFMoto feels different. I have been following them for a few years now and between partnering with KTM - which I do not think KTM would pick a garbage company to partner with and the race series they do in Europe, they are showing that a company from China can break the mold and make a unique original design that actually tries and is reliable. I would wager that outside of getting parts if needed for any reason (wreck), they are more reliable than Polaris and maybe even CanAm.
    I've seen a few with over 10k miles on the internet and CZcams. I believe there is a guy in Sweden that has one with 30k miles (not kilometers), but actual miles and climbing. Yeah, it would be fun to see someone buy a new CFMoto and a Polaris and run them through the same trails for a few years, at least 2k miles a year and see which one holds up better.
