  • In January of 2021, @ArloParks was preparing to release her debut album - we rewind 12 months and take a look at a very special interview recorded in the lead-up to the release of 'Collapsed In Sunbeams' on @Transgressive.
Since 'Collapsed In Sunbeams' arrived on January 29th last year, Arlo Parks and her music has resonated with fans and critics the world over - she was crowned the winner of 2021’s Mercury Prize, won a BRIT Award, GQ Award, two AIM awards with so many more accolades in between, and most recently received two nominations for the 64th GRAMMY Awards. She has toured the US, Europe, and the UK and in her home city of London, she experienced a beautiful full-circle moment playing two sold-out shows at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire - the venue in which a young Arlo Parks enjoyed her first ever live concert. Most recently, 'Collapsed In Sunbeams' crossed the line to become BPI-certified Silver, having clocked 60,000 scanned albums in the UK.
This interview presents the beloved poet/artist/singer-songwriter/musician during those early days - before she had any idea of how much an impact her music and songwriting would have on the world. She discusses the story behind the album’s title, its artwork, her writing process, fashion, and that feeling you get when @florencemachine and @BillieEilish are among just some of your fans.
