My mom passed away some years ago but when I was 5 years old, we used to really enjoy listening to Eddie Rabbitt songs and it really bring back some great memories with my mom❤
I miss him. I saw him in Branson on my 24th birthday, about 30 yrs ago. He was tall, so handsome, and his music fantastic. He left us much too young. If he were still alive, I have no doubt he would have been performing in Branson on a regular basis.
My kids r 23 and 20 years old. And I'm 48 years old. And this is music I grew up too so my kids listen to this music as it's today's music! 70's and 80's music was like no other u will hear today! I miss this beautiful times in country and rock n roll!
I just met a woman and asked her to listen to it. Lol. They don’t appreciate good music anymore. She responded with I like hip hop music. I’ll just keep looking I guess.
"Long ago and far away in my old common labor shoes I turned the world all which a way just because you asked me to", comes to mind listening to this one. Mr. Rabbitt iz a good un but I'm just a g d baboon. What do i know.
Love Eddie since I was 12. Didn’t really like this song back then. Just came on on auto play. I listened to it five times in a row. What a beautiful song. Rest easy Ed.
This song encapsulates my time growing up in the '70s....It touches my soul with a ghostly haunt whenever I hear it....What an Era....'70s and Rabbitt BEST!!!
My first concert was Dolly Parton at the Universal Amphitheatre in '78. Eddie Rabbitt opened for her. He was AMAZING! When he finished his set the audience was cheering for him to come back out. He did and played Every Which Way But Loose.(which was the same year the movie came out) I was 11 but to this day it's vividly memorable. Eddie Rabbitt was an awesome entertainer and human being.
I grew up listening to this song and it made me a man , better yet a gentleman . If you wanna live a good beautiful married life , follow these steps and you'll live a good life.
My husband and I were married for 38 yrs because of these lyrics. I fell in love with my husband when this played on radio, because he practiced all three steps.
I followed his instructions 41 years ago. I was successful getting the girl I wanted. She was my high school sweetheart. We’re still married. Eddie Rabbitt was always my favorite. He belongs in the hall of fame. What a talented man.
Happy for you. You were very fortunate to have been raised in an era when women actually appreciated decent men who made a genuine effort to court them. Nowadays, a female won't even look at a guy or give him the time of day unless he is at least six feet tall, handsome, rich, successful, well-connected, and has a full head of hair and a chiseled physique. Fortunately, more and more men everyday are discovering the goldmine of lovely women who are still waiting to be had overseas. Still, I feel particularly sorry for young men growing up in the West today.
Eddie Rabbit ruled the country and pop charts in the early 80s 👍 Great song . You don't get lyrics like this any more - " First step, ask her out and treat her like a lady " and " she looks too beautiful to touch " That's respect !
Loved his music, saw him do a live performance on TV one time blew a guitar string during rainy nights fixed it right on the spot never skipped a beat now thats cool. Miss you Eddie R.I.P
I used to play this often and find myself close to tears when I had to go overseas and be away from my gf for a year. It was agony but I survived and we wed a few years later. RIP, angel, it's agony once more but I pray we'll be reunited again one day. ❤🩹
Eddie Rabbit used to DJ on Los Angeles rock radio way back when. That's how multi talented he was. I grew up in LA and we got him all over the airwaves besides country music. My college English teacher here played his music in class.
I love this 1981 Eddie Rabbitt hit, which peaked @ #5 on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart!!! Bravo, Edward Thomas Rabbitt!!! R.I.P., Eddie...you were a class act all the way!!!
This song summed it up for me when I first met my future wife. Was sitting in the cafeteria and said I needed to ask her out and take a chance. Never looked back. Step by Step.
That's awesome that the song successfully inspired you to meet your wife! Granted, you grew up in a *very* different time period. I honestly could not imagine any young person today achieving success by heeding the song's lyrics, unless of course he's over six feet tall with the physique of a Greek god, is super successful with a high six figure income, and well-connected socioeconomically.
@@pe2point0 Very true that this is a different time but the fundamentals are still there that if you treat a woman the way she deserves to be treated she will look beyond all the material things in this world and accept you for who you are.
My dad looked just like him in the 70's...i miss him. He passed away from 4th stage lung cancer in 2007, 3 weeks after his one and only grandchild was born....
When he sings, "She looks too beautiful to touch...", if you look at women that way and feel the feeling it evokes, and keep thinking and feeling this way, I guarantee you, you will have women, and most likely woman who are ultra attractive. When you think of women as precious and priceless, you will inevitably be with one. If you haven't had fortune with woman as you would like, this drop's for you.
Haha, if only that were true in today's screwed up society! Nowadays, any guy following this song's advice who is not at least six feet tall, with a chiseled jaw line, six pack abs, and making six figures a year will promptly get me-too'ed and canceled! 😂

Yeah, it's just a pity that women never go for these type of men until after the women reach menopause and have several divorces and kids under their belt! 😂
I am so overcome with emotion when I hear this song, because I remember where I was. Walking through the dining room towards the living room, Mom was in the kitchen, Dad lounging on the veranda. They are no longer here. When I use to hear songs like these, I use to get a feeling of mixed emotions, like it was telling me one day I am going to hear these songs again, but its gonna be filled with sadness and nostalgia.
Man this one takes me back! What a great tune! Memories comes rushing back from my teenage years!👌😎👍 Damn we had great music back then! What da hell happened! Rip🙏Eddie Rabbit! You left us great music!
Beautiful music from the 50's to the mid-80's, then it pretty much went downhill from the mid-90's and onward. Then, a new generation came along who were angry, jaded, and held very little hope for the future. One young man in his twenties told me "I hate my generation's music". I replied "Your generation is the first of its kind to feel that way".
Even the BADBOY has to have that one secret weapon song that defines his heart he only reveals to that special lady in his life! No shame in that only honor!
