This is one of the two choices you make during the final Chapter: Black Sun. There are only minor alterations in this ending, and that depends on who lives and who dies in the game.
SPOILERS BELOW
Shimisani cannot be saved. Paul, Norah, and Cole can end up here in the Infraworld (I'm not certain if there is more). There are two trophies tied to this ending -- one of them is saving everyone you possibly can, and the other is to let them all die and join them in the Infraworld.

One of the best games i have played. Up there with Red Dead Redemption, Last of Us, Uncharted 2 and Heavy Rain. Simply amazing!

Same list for me, except for RDR. Replace that with 'horizon: zero dawn' and I'd agree even more. :) PS exclusives are just on another level imo.
I do not understand why so many people hate on red dead, it’s honestly great, I don’t find the horse rides annoying at all since the world is alive and full of stuff to do, and it’s obviously slow if you try to pass some shortcuts and end up jumping off a cliff or something, it’s not THAT bad, I don’t find any legitimate problem other than the controls who are acceptable
-You barely can rob anything if you aren’t on a mission/side-quest without getting a bounty, but still, you just have to interact with as much stuff as you can, everytime you see a white dot on the map go for it, greet people, idk do stuff other than shooting a town and expecting no repercussions ffs.
-there is not much choice that affect the story but it’s completely ok, this game is meant to be played that way, you want choices play detroit or some shit (detroit was amazing btw)
-as for the rOcKStAr fOrMUlA oLd, I fucking hate that, red dead was soo much different than gta and that’s why so many people hate on it, yet they make the argument that it’s the same missions, go somewhere, shootout, get away. but when rockstar make you do stuff like hunting or bounty hunting instead of murdering people, AARGGHHH rEd DeAd iS bOrInG, fuck that shit, plus, every game is repetitive in some way, god of war, fighting all the time, ac odyssey, every mission is literally complete a location aka free prisonners loot treasures kill, let red dead be red dead, and their world is a LOT LESS REPETITIVE than other open worlds.

Yeah, the way I would base my choice off is “how many died, and are in the Infraworld?” If practically everyone is there, I go there. If there’s very few, like Jodie’s mother and Shimasani, then I choose life.

Ok i had no idea I was here beforehand but ok. I feel as though this ending is really selfish on jodie's part? I mean shes going to end up in the beyond when she dies anyway right? She leaves zoe, ryan and jay behind just to die early? It just doesnt seem like the right choice but thats up to the player.

The part with Cole made me cry!
Cole betrayed Jodie in the Norah chapter, and he watched her being experimented on and imprisoned half her life. To me, Cole is the Lando Calrissian style bureaucrat of this game. His job was to be her special buddy like every youth counselor out there, but he is still a tool of the system.
I don't know. I like Cole but I'm mad at him for the reasons you said. I feel like Cole is definitely one o the better characters though.

Finally played the game for the first time today.
Honestly, I don't think "Beyond" is a bad ending at all. On the contrary, it is the one that, next to "Alone", suits Jodie's life best. Sure, it's sad and very moving. But at the same time it's beautiful.
The whole game is about Jodie never having a good or normal life because she was always used by others. She was always just a prisoner, an outsider and a freak. Later in the game becomes clear that deep in her heart, Jodie actually only wanted to die to finally be able to find some peace and be truly with Aiden.
Actually, both possible romances with Ryan or Jay feel forced if you ask me. As if the devs wanted you to pick this ending. A normal life with a normal partnership is nothing, that fits Jodie's life as it is described by the game. She was always different due to her connection to Aiden and the Infraworld. It's typical for most of todays story telling games that a romance just have to appear ingame sooner or later, but for Beyond Two Souls it just doesn't fit at all.
The explanation of what happens after death is simply fascinating because it is completely independent of a religious touch. Jodie is in the Infraworld, together with Aiden, who anyway never really belonged in the world of the living and was only bound to it through Jodie. But in the end her friends will die one day too, so in the end they will meet Jodie in the Afterworld. A world inhabited by ghostly beings, which is apparently also just a stopover towards "beyond".

Jodie's mom: My little girl! My little girl! *hugs Jodie* I missed you! I missed you so much!
Jodie: I missed you too!
Aiden: J-J-Jodie! It's me! It's me!
Jodie: Aiden! I love you Aiden! *hugs Aiden* Oh my gosh!
Jodie's mom: *hugs Jodie and Aiden* I saw you to! I saw you! I saw you to! You and Nathan! And Cole! At the DPA unit!
Jodie: I could would not be here without Aiden!
Jodie's mom: I love you!
Nathan: *Nathan and family approach* Jodie!! It's you!!! *hugs jodie*.
Jodie's narration: After that I found out who I truly was! I met my mother and figured out who Aiden truly was! *shows visions* I still see these visions the visions of the future. But I don't see myself. I see, I see Zoey! I hope she doesn't grow up, like I did, on a DPA unit. There is only one question. Who's here 2nd soul?

It was just so beautiful. It really hit me how beautiful the game is at that moment
This ending is so sad 😭 This is why I knew I had to choose life. I couldn't leave Ryan there like that to find Jodie dead, and to leave Cole with so many unanswered questions, along with all of the other people she met. Plus I think when her and Ryan were on the beach, and Aiden wrote in the sand, it was a perfect happy ending. 💖

You know a game is good when literally one of the choices is whether to die or to live and you can't decide which.
Hmm... This is a nice ending and all, but really, my opinion is that choosing the life option is much more fulfilling, more, satisfying then the beyond choice.
Why? In this ending she finally dies. She has stated several times that her life is messed up. She tried to kill herself earlier. Now that she's passed to the beyond she is finally free. Finally at peace. To me this is beautiful. In the other ending she loses Aidan, and her memories fade away. I think that is much sadder. I don't get why people think death is such a bad thing.

Christopher Kimson the other random girl is Tuesday's child, the homeless girl's child. If you watch the life - Zoey ending you can see that Zoey has powers similar to Jodie's powers.

Yo during my play through I started sobbing when I realized we had to pick between staying with Aiden in the beyond or LIVING. I literally was so attached to Aiden, but I was like "Jodie i'm so sorry. You gotta live, man."
My friend was playing with me (as Aiden) and he wanted me to choose Ryan (sigh), so I did. When I tell you---BRO I sobbed when Aiden wrote "Still Here" in the sand, but I was so depressed?? For like three days? I have no idea why.

i don't know how i feel about how that bit was portrayed about the 'beyond' what happens there and all.. also, at the end, she was talking about seeing auras around people, and astral traveling, and obviously, speaking with extra dimensional entities. people think this stuff is all 'made up' but, that only because the vast majority of no experience with it..

If it was me, I could never do it because I couldn't decide which side to choose. Be with your love ones that are deceased, or be with your love ones that are still among the living. But what I know is that it would be heartbreaking to leave your love ones that still alive. The souls of the deceased will always watch over you.
Overall, this ending is sad, yet, feels like a happy ending. Jodie doesn't have to suffer anymore. She can watch over her love ones that are still alive easily and help Zoey prepare for the days to come to save the world.

SPOILERS the beyond ending is Jodie becoming Zoey's entity, helping her to not make the same mistakes she did.
This game was nothing short than of amazing. The acting, gameplay, graphics, the thought put into the story line. Just incredible. Such a hard life she lived. I loved and felt for this character. One the easiest choices between life and death is life. Choosing to live. She truly deserved to feel happiness in life. So I’m glad she finally got peace.

if u would have watched all the eps (or u did but it didnt show u) when the japanese ppl created that portal to Infraworld, Ryan and Jodie went together to try to close it. The ppl caught them, and they chopped off ryans eye to make jodie talk, but she didnt and ryan now wears and eyepatch. :)
and what about Aiden? Jodie never sees him again?

In fact,If u do not want to live,he will not live.When u meet "Daddy Defoe" in the black sun,u can walk away and he will shout u in the leg or arm and ryan will come and save u but they will be both killed(Defoe and ryan).So if u choose reason in that stage,Ryan will leave

Aiden was already dead. He was twins with Jodie and his their souls were bound. Do not think of it like that, Aiden was set free to be with his loved ones in stead of being trapped in limbo. Now he just happily waits with his passed loved ones for Jodie, her children, and her husband to join.

what do you mean? Ryan never died. Jodie has a special connection to the infraworld,. so when she deactivates the condenser, she gets to choose whether she lives or goes to the infraworld. Ryan was waiting for Jodie to return after deactivating the condenser, he was not in danger of dying. If you choose to go Beyond, Jodie's soul will go to the infraworld, and all that's left is her dead body in the condenser room with Ryan.
SO in the end in beyond, Jodie becomes an entity to carry out her duty to Zoey. When in life and alone, shlives alone and rediscovers aiden. If she chooses Zoey, she knows that Zoey contains an entity and teaches her all she know to prevent the apocalypse. If she chooses Jay, they reunite and after having a somewhat rendevouz, Aiden tells Jodie hes back. And if she chooses Ryan,they go on a cruise together where Aiden says that he's still there.

there should be a beyond two souls 2 but with all the possible endings it would take a lot of effort to make the separate stories

this was the beyond ending..but In life he was dead because of the entity. Those were like the dead people in this ending basically. like Aiden and the grandmother, Cole and so on. but in life, there was Ryan and whoever survived this
That wasn't Jodie at the end. That was a teenage Zoey, Elisa's (Tuesday's) daughter. If you choose the Zoey ending after choosing to live, it's Zoey and Jodie standing together watching the apocalypse.
