But this song is one of my favourites, which I first saw in a film starring Penelope Cruz, "La Niña de tus Ojos".
Pero esta cancion es una de mis favoritas, que yo descubri en la pelicula 'La Niña de tus Ojos'.
Muchos años mas tarde, y amanece de econtrar la misma cancion, en una version de las 50. Restoracion hecho por mi mismo como experimento en restauracion.

Many years later, I found this version from the 1950's. (There is also a version from the 1930's......)
Here is the 50''s version of that song, from a film called Carmen of the Ronda, (released in the USA, dubbed, under the title "Girl Against Napoleon"), starring Sara Montiel. I have upscaled to HD, and corrected the colour and lip-sync from the DVD, to help me learn how to use some nice video editing software at home.

Actually, "Los piconeros" was first done by Imperio Argentina in "Carmen, la de Triana" filmed at UFA Berlin in 1938. The story in "La niña de tus ojos" was based on Imperio´s sojourn in Germany with her husband Florián Rey and the Spanish filming crew. Of course they took lots of liberties on the script of "La niña". All that said, I LOVE Sara Montiel´s version and her film "Carmen, la de Ronda" (1959) Thanks a lot for posting Paul!
