  • All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi condemned the Karnataka 'hijab' row. In an exclusive conversation with India Today, Owaisi raised questions including why are muslim women being stopped and why a sudden decision was made to ban hijab. He also slammed BJP government over hijab ban.
"Grave violations of the Constitution's Articles 15, 19 and 21 are being committed in Karnataka", he said.
Several protests have erupted in Karnataka after some students were allegedly denied entry to college wearing hijab (a headscarf worn by Muslim women) on February 4.
The students at the Government Girls PU college in Udupi district alleged that they had been barred from attending classes.

@@gayathrisubash4687 The question is why girls are allowed to wear the hijab in the majority of the counties including India in the past and what has changed. Does wearing the hijab interfere with their education, the answer is no. A study has found that girls perform better when they are segregated from boys which are needed before the banning of hijab. According to you "if they consider religion most important they should either go to madrasas or Islamic schools", which is fine for which the government has to provide such Islamic/Muslim schools. Do you mean to say the majority of the countries which allow the wearing of the hijab, the girls are being brainwashed? What a ridiculous suggestion? All the other students all over the world obey the rules which allow the wearing of the hijab. What is wrong with India?
In the past, China, Russia and the US tried to occupy Afghanistan and they failed. In the past, the British had occupied India and it is through the collective effort of both the Hindus and Muslims managed to get independence by reporting to the non-violence movement.
Why politicians are trying to brainwash and separate the Hindus and Muslims because of political gains? United we stand and divided we will fall. In elections, the Muslims do vote for Hindu parties and they do not have their own party. Muslims are facing constant bullying from majoritarian right-wing groups and the lukewarm attitude of Secular parties Only 27 Muslim MPs were elected to Parliament out of 543 members in Lok Sabha in 2019, none from the BJP. Why does my covering concern you at all?
I don't understand, what do you fear?
Is hijab too attractive to the human soul?

I am abiding to the command of Allah

This should not have been a national issue even. It could easily be resolved by asking the girls to cover their heads with a fabric from the school uniform, Sikh brothers do it all the time and so many Muslim girls around the country too.

If students are fighting for their right to wear saffron shawl, then why is it only to school? Why not wear it every time they step out of the house?
It's clearly not the same for women who wear hijab, they don't wear and remove as it pleases them. It's a religious obligation that most of the women follow, some don't and it's their choice/decision. But muslims certainly don't wear it to show that they're Muslim.
If equality is what it is, then they must wear a saffron shawl everytime they step outside, even if they visit other countries, because Muslims wear hijab everywhere and everytime they step out (even Sikhs wear turban too) in public, atleast that's what is commanded in the religion.
Uniforms should be inclusive of certain religious obligation, wearing a saffron shawl is not an obligation but not wearing a hijab may lead to guilty conscience as it is an obligation.

We wear hijab by choice not by compulsion....do tell me one thing if two girls are walking in a street one is wearing burkha and has covered her head another is wearing half clothes almost nude... Now tell me which one will be more attractive..... Obviously the almost the nude one..so that is why pardah of body is important and everyone should adopt this pardah system.... Girls are precious like pearls which is always hidden in a shell 🐚... Their body should not be publicly exposed.

There is lots of sense in What Shree Asaduddin Owaisi is Speaking.
He is an enlightened speaker and speaks of a Cosmopolitan and Democratic Society.
Basically it looks like certain sections of Non Muslim Community are Jealous of their Life Style and hence these issues such as 80% & 20% are occurring .
Further BJP'S Spokesperson Srimati Nupur Sharma's Remarks & Blasphemy of Prophet Mohammed has made things even more difficult for the Indian Muslim Community in India 🇮🇳 and Indian 🇮🇳 Citizens living abroad 😳.
