With some of these things I feel like Jackie forgets that small children exist. As a kiddo I would've loved all those bows! Even as an adult I'd probably wear most of them

@@RileyPryor-mc6tj except even as a kid I would be disappointed in these, they are a scam at 40-50$ and all the stuff you can just make even better as DIY with better materials and make it more special as a custom gift. But in these, they just took random stuff, stuck them together and put it in a pretty box to scam you. I can't believe anyone would buy this trash for their kid but sadly a lot of older people fall for these scams and buy them for their grandkids. It's why I appreciate Jackie's vids showing us the truth.
I would think these advent calendars are more geared towards young children but the cost is way overpriced for me. More like $20 or $25. Love Jackie’s videos!
Right, when my daughter was like 5 she would have loved these and would have rocked everything... it is a bit expensive though
100% agree! These are for little girls! They will have no problem with all the rainbows, flowers, lollipops, hearts, etc. And while the prizes may not justify the price tag, keep in mind that you're paying for the fun anticipation, the beautiful presentation, and the hours of play value as well. As a little grain I would have had a GREAT deal of fun playing with the box of boxes, and keeping my treasures in them!
"hours of play value"? We were obviously very different smol grains. Even as a tiny person I would have thought most of the first kit cheap junk not worth spending pocket money on - even 30 years ago it's the kind of thing you could buy for a few pence. A few bits are nice and the ability to refill the boxes good, but nowhere near worth the price :D @@katelinnett9020
This is definitely something a unicorn obsessed young girl would love. I found and read the reviews and it’s aimed at 4-10 year olds hence the sizing. I know a few girls who would love this. It is so so overpriced though!!

The first one isn't terrible if they didn't advertise it as a unicorn theme. The second one seems to be pretty good. But jackie, you have got to understand these are intended for children. You held up that big purple bow and said you couldn't imagine who would wear that, have you seen children? These aren't made for adults. Adults can absolutely enjoy them, but they are targeted at a different audience than thin haired adults
Same with the bracelet "not size inclusive"??? Lmao I doubt any child aka their target customer has the same size wrist as a bigger sized adult. Absolutely no to her tho

You’re absolutely right! All children are exactly the same! And children understand things being completely unrelated to their animal special interest. In fact they prefer if a unicorn surprise turns out to be a princess theme. Especially in the build up to a holiday about the fulfillment of wishes.
@@elizabethh9935 I feel like it is very expected for not everything to be unicorn themed as in having a literal unicorn. I was a HUGE unicorn loving kid for YEARS and most unicorn stuff had princesses, bows, candy, clouds, bows, mermaids, fairies, ect with it.
I don't think it's surprising that the items are too small and not your cup of tea as you weren't their target audience. These were likely intended for elementary aged girls. They would probably love them.
I agree 100% - this was meant for young girls. 6 to 12 year range would love everything. Very cute advent calendar!

@@BassKittehz even as a kid I could tell this was a scam, you can make better stuff and make an actual nice Advent calendar. Not all kids fall for these random, cheap, badly glued together, dollar store rip-offs.
I thought these were trash as a kid. I hated the these cheap toys and if someone gave me stuff like that as a kid I would just give it to my mom to donate. And it was not because of privilege, we were not rich. I had barely any toys, but they were well taken care of. I would play with hand me down toys most of my life.
Well adults can have them too you know so it should be for everybody not just kids can have Advent calendars

The reorder for the boxes is for when you want to reuse the box with your own gifts in future years, or to fill with candy for kids etc etc
I bought one of these for my daughter... Totally worth the cash. The items may not be the best, but I didn't buy it for the items, I bought it for the experience. She loved and I was happy that she was happy.
This is why I am SO thankful for you putting these reviews out there. Not only do you show IF there is value, which these ones clearly do not. But you can use these calendars as inspiration to go to a dollar store and create your own. That way you can personalize it to who you're getting it for, but you can make it as cheap or expensive as you want. THANK YOU!! LOVE YOU!!
The price definitely went mainly into the packaging which I can only appreciate because it’s reusable. That is why they gave you box guide. The items definitely came from a dollar store, but I’m glad they show you before you buy (which is probably why they have high ratings)

Omg yes! I just hope it's affordable. I love the quality of Jackie's stuff and I know you get what you pay for, but I'm usually too broke for it. I just say that because if the "cheap" ones are $50? 😅 eek. Honestly tho I would pay a decent amount for one by NerdEcrafter

I think they gave you the layout of the boxes so that the calendar can be reused. That's a neat idea. Maybe you could make your sister an advent calendar.
My friends 4yo girl would love the first box, but I can't imagine that was actually worth over $50... that was dollar-store level plastic beads and hairbows... it was a childrens calendar for sure.
The box placement chart is so you can put the boxes back in their original location IF you decide to refill them with other toys and candies to use over and over. Which is what I would do 😃❤️ makes a great gift to them pass on to someone else🎁
I love that she cut the string designed to keep the first box opened and then was shocked when it wouldn't stay open. Lol Jackie that's what the string was for.
It wasn't staying open with it either...
The string isn't meant to keep the box open at all, it's meant to keep the lid at a certain angle. A string isn't solid enough to prop anything open, but it is strong enough to keep something from opening too far.
You overestimate the rigidness of a string.
The ribbon is designed to keep the lid from falling open from a right angle. It's not made to keep the lid open.

imo the pictures make it SUPER obvious that its a calendar for little girls, not for adults - and little kids don't get a credit card - they get coins. its actually fairly normal for grade school kids and younger to have a coin purse still - don't think that's oldschool at all lol they love little hair clips, bracelets,.. too. I don't understand how she keeps buying things for little kids and is unhappy with them lol like ofc the bracelet won't fit perfectly - it's .. for 7 year olds. With the arms of a 7 yo :D
@@BassKittehzthat’s my biggest issue with her reviews. She says her reviews are for people with purchasing power, ok. But the products are for children. Sure adults can enjoy them but they’re meant for kids.
Hey Jackie! Not sure if you'll ever read this but at 15:15, those are actually hair ties! They're a lot less painful to use to regular hair ties, even for the fine hair people. And Yes, it may be plastic but if you break one, you can just repair it with bit of fire and a lot of caution. I have some that I broke over the time and repaired it over time with bit of flame and careful handling.
These are a bit more expensive because of nylon center (I think it is) thank regular full plastic version but they're so nice to have and use. They can also go back into there shape and doesn't stretch out since you can just remold them with hot water and making it tight curl again as well.

They give the box sequence for you to reuse and put your own gifts in it to give to someone else after you’ve opened it!! These calendars are for children. Also even if I did buy a “unicorn” calendar I wouldn’t expect or want every single day to be a unicorn. Plus advent calendar’s are for Christmas time lol, so a calendar with Christmas theme and also unicorn is great for a little girl!! ❤

The tiny hair clips are perfect for my sewing kit. I use them to bundle open floss.
On the first calendar on 20th it was that sad looking christmas tree. On that second calendar on 20th there was that adorable looking coin purse. Thank you always to amazing Kitty Editor for editing and teaching us various little things ❤

As I always says: EVERYTHING is an art supply 😂 you could use those little clips for all sorts of things! You could sculpt tiny figures and attach them to the clips and then clip them to your cords, your plushies, or as pins on your clothes and hat. You could use them for accessories for plushies and sculptures. You could use them to hold up your pencils and brushes. You could use them to hold up string and then hold up your artwork. You can use them to hold up Xmas lights. You could glue them onto pictures as decorations to, for example, portraits (like break a clip in half and glue each side to make it look like a woman has it in her hair). You could get a tiny flower pot and either clip them around the edges or break them in half and glue them onto it. You could paint them and make them look like monsters or deep sea fish like the angler fish (since those types of clips are called teeth clips 😂). You could use a pencil or pipe cleaners and make a body with them. Or use polymer clay and make bodies andor heads and make them the mouth. 😂 I’ll stop now cause this is already wicked long, but yea. LOADS of ideas!

I would have LOVED all these 'unicorn'-colored baubles when I was little! I remember having so many of those elastic colorful bracelets. My hair was thin too, but I probably would have used the hair stuff on my dolls. Really cute sets. Thanks for sharing. 🦄🦄🦄
These items are clearly intended for children, so I find it strange when she complains about things not fitting her adult body, or is confused about "who would use this". Children. Small children for whom this product was created.
Obviously adults are welcome to use and enjoy children's toys, but it seems a bit silly to criticize something that wasn't made for you for not being your size.
It is unfortunate that the quality of things marketed to children is often dubious at best.

You can use the tiny hair claws for holding a plant stem (like an orchid) to a stick. Or you can put them in Pat's beard!!!!! 😆

Realistically, 24 items over $50 averages out to $2.08 per piece. You aren’t going to get super expensive pieces even though the overall box is expensive.
I agree that they should have stayed on theme more. They were more rainbow and colorful.
I love slap bands. I don't know when they were invented, but I strongly associate them with my childhood, so I always think of them as being very 90s. Edit: I'm on day 9, so I got a mirror in the 1st calendar, and a SLAP BAND YAY in the 2nd.

For the bracelet, you can buy the jewelry chain bits for very cheap and attach it to the chain on the bracelet. Very easy fix. These advent calendars are targeted at very young kids though so they'll put barely any effort into them nowadays. When I was a kid, the quality on everything was at least a bit better, now with amazon and all that it feels like people stop putting effort and just try to make money with cheap plastic
I have no real interest in Christmas stuff, but I love watching unboxing advent calendars by creators who make it entertaining. Especially you!
I use tiny hair clips like the ones at 25:32 as clips when crafting. I like to add felt to the back of my plastic canvas stitched projects and the clips help the glue on the felt to adhere to the back of the craft while still letting it have a little "air" and not bond super duper tightly. I can't explain it, but they work so much better for me than using something like binder clips or no clips at all. :)
The small flowery clips at 25:30 I would use to hold up flower stems at home, like orchids that tend to wibbly wobbly all over the place. And I would try to save the small boxes themselves to create an advent calendar of my own, expecially for my kids. c:
Those little hair clips from the second calander on day 19 are great for ancoring plant vines/thin stems to various things. I use it to keep my gooseberry plant upright

I would say sunnies are an OK item, as they obviously can be used in the southern hemisphere where it's summer for Xmas (and usually at least 40C here in Australia on the day lol), plus if you're in snow, sunnies can be helpful if the sun comes out as the UV rays would be bouncing around even though it's "cold"!

I would like for them to write it on their calendar if it is intended to be used in the southern hemisphere in this case. But It's not. It's just meant to be a cute little Thing. YET it isn't unicorn themed... Or Christmas themed. I See where you're coming from, but... No. Yes, sunnies are of use, but I really don't want or need them in an ADVENT CALENDAR 😂
Ty Jackie for making it fun for people like me that get shafted on advent dates my fav advent calendars have candy or chocolate I use those tiny flower hair clips in my 8 year old's hair I braid it then I put those flowers down the braid she looks like Rapunzel when were done she always looks so pretty

It might be my inner child showing, but I think these are both kinda really cute. The hair clips can be used as paper clips, or even worn on a shirt collar, especially if you have two of the same. You can quite easily extend most of the jewellery, or turn the necklaces to bracelets. You can gift the items you don't like for yourself to friends, and by adding a sticker on top of the numbers, you even have a gift box ready. And you can customize stuff, too. The coin purse looks big enough to even fit a credit card, and they are both really cute. The only thing I actively dislike is the sunglasses. They aren't winter or unicorn themed, and since they are kids size, they'd be useless to anyone older. Btw, the rainbow bracelet, which is like a strap, looks like it could be extended as is.
The items aren't necessarily worth $50, but if you're a fan of this style, and you only open a box a day, I think the overall experience might be worth the price. And if I'm being entirely honest, I might look these up to see if I can buy either of them in my part of the world.

I think the tiny flower clips is meant for 'decorating' your hair. You take a very thin strand and you clip it down that strand, like the beads thing that was popular before.
Think outside the box on day 19 on the second kit. You got a super useful item there. We just bought a set of those in green to clip up the flowering stalk of a mini orchard to a support stick. They are great for indoor house plants that could use a little lift.
Agreed...as long as they don't grip so tightly that they damage the plant!
For the mini plastic hair clips, my mom uses them to clip support sticks to plant stems that are top heavy.

The bow with the beads- the fabric that you don't like that you were rubbing your fingers on. I am addicted to that fabric. I have been rubbing that specific type of fabric through my fingers since I was a kid. (I also love the noise it makes) It's a weird habit I know. lol. We have Curtains in our hallway with that fabric and I stop every time I walk through the hall I stop just to rub it between my fingers. My kids call me the "Curtain fondler" lmao

I feel like you didn't fully read the first one you opened. The listing says advent calendar for girls and kids and just says unicorn bracelet so it wasn't a full unicorn themed calendar. Also compared to other advent calendars with similar items you don't get much for the price. There are others that say they have 100+ items for $17 US. So while it was decent it's definitely not the best one out there.

The clips in box 19 ! I use for my Hoya plants! They are a vine plant, so I use them to train and hold the vines in place!

You can reuse these kind of advent calendars. So it's actually a good thing, if they are just x-mas themed. That is also why you get the paper with the right order on it, so you know how to put it all back together. I kinda like those, you can customize them for someone you love and have less waste.
I feel really bad about being extremely annoyed with the constant pessimism but I think it's because I am easily pleased and I don't critique or criticize things and I just hate when people hate almost everything they get that's just me I think because I am autistic 😓

Box 16 In the first opening in I got the fluffy slap and those are really fun for me! 😎 Buuut in the second opening for me was the rainbow looking flower that weirdly looks like the flower from Undertale 😂

I feel like you are overestimating what is supposed to be in these - it'S a little thing for kids to shorten the wait until christmas, not a serious thing to be picked apart.
For the silicone bracelets, for any other grains that have aversions to silicone jewelry (or large wrists), I’ve started putting them on my water bottle!
