  • Getting more than 250mW on the 6cm microwave band was an onerous task up until recently. SG Laboratory has produced a 5.7 GHz 10w PA. This amplifier has been developed and produced for industrial use but is matched well for the 6cm amateur band. It is based on the latest GaN power transistor from Cree/Wolfspeed. There is no switching around the amp, so it's something you'll have to do should you go down this path. This video shows two applications of this amplifier in two different scenarios.
If you have plans for 6cm, this PA is worth consideration.
