- The plaintiff says the defendant was a nightmare landlord. She claims she even lost her job because of him, so she’s suing him for $5,000. The defendant says the plaintiff got into tussles with the other neighbors, and he had to have her arrested for stealing when she stopped paying rent. He’s countersuing for unpaid rent and lawyers’ fees.

You know this isn’t an actual court or an actual suit, right? This is a reality television show. The litigants literally agree to appear on the show in agreement that they dismiss all claims. They don’t even owe the money awarded. It’s basically not anything more than a tv drama. It couldn’t be less fictional if they tried.
@@walygisnep You’re not correct. Yes, they agree to dismiss all claims in court because they’re agreeing to participate in binding arbitration with Judge Milian as the arbitrator. If she issues a judgment against them, it is legally binding and they still owe the money. Their appearance fees can pay for some or all of the judgement.

My daughter's siblings and ex husband did this to her. It got to the point that cops got involved and I am assuming they warned the parties involved to stop or they will be the ones dealing with law enforcement. All the calls stopped after that.

I had a neighbour like this, use shut off my water so I couldn't shower after Chemo and my heat in the winter in Northern Ontario Canada. She was an absolute screw ball, I moved and they had to get her out through eviction.

I have edema that affects my legs and feet. I still worked when I was undiagnosed for years with it. But you cannot sue for a pre-existing condition that he did not cause. She needs to lower her salt intake and walk.

I’ve watched a good 50 hours worth of this show and this has gotta be the most outrageous plaintiff ever! She calls every single agency on him & on the other tenant *including CPS!*. She then threats to take him to the Supreme Court and sues him for everything under the sun in this court all the while she’s not paying rent & she’s forcing him to pay the marshals, the lawyers and the tenants court to get her out of a house that she busted up, stole a door from the communal area & caused $100 worth of goods to go off while she unplugged the other tenants shit.
Fuck off with that ‘oh I’m a weak innocent pregnant lady, I can’t survive without assistance’ Bullshit. I can only imagine the kind of person her filthy child is going to turn into!

I would hope that potential landlords ask for references (aka prior landlords) ...... the primary question to ask them would be "would you rent to this person again?" If the answer is no, you know what to do .... or should I say don't do.
It's pretty standard on the application to get current and previous landlord's information but not common for landlords to call for the references. Most landlord's haven't yet learned that they have to verify the owner of the rental and look up the real landlords phone number and call the legit one not the fake one that bad tenants provides. Tenants know this because they've gotten away with this scheme for years. I do and have been verifying the real owner/landlord and his/her phone number and calling them for real references. Saved me plenty of time from renting to tenants like the tenant in this video.
