Quarterfinal, Team Alex-TT Elite vs Team Canada. 2011 North American Teams Championships, Baltimore MD. On the adjacent table to the left (after 6 minutes): Zhang Chao vs Chen Hongtao.
Pretty even with a slight edge to Fang Bo. Interesting though, 4 years later, Fang Bo in the finals at WTTC against Ma Long. Fang Bo has improved a lot since he has played here. At the WTTC in 2015, he was ranked 13th in the world. While Wang Zhen plays basically the same. He is still the number one player in North America.
I'd just like to point out that Wang Zhen's services are technically illegal. You can see his thumb covers up the ball from the start. Not that it actually makes a difference, but just another reason why umpires should not be able to call a service a fault when they clearly can't see whether a service is legal or not from their perspective.
@weapons33 It's not about Chinese vs. others - this perfunctory handshake is a generational thing, almost everyone does it in table tennis nowadays. I don't like it either.
@weapons33 got nothing to do with respect. Has it ever occurred to you that what you are accustomed to e.g. handshake, is not observed by them? You need to be more aware and perhaps more tolerant of other cultures and traditions.
Look at the guys playing at the background at 3:43 lmao
Fang Bo is joking, I think he can give Wang Zhen 3 free points each set

thanks for the videos!
Eugene Wang may look slow, but he is the best player in the Americas. It's all relative, my friend.

Even though he's no match for the top Chinese players, Wang's calm and cool style won him the 2013 US Open.
Finally Wang Zhen beat Fang Bo in 2015
Which match? Link?
Whip of sweat from their hands... A speck of sweat on their rubber can effect them greatly. Table tennis = Most sensative sport on earth!
how did they get Fang Bo???!!!
@ttkid100 i would like to see you do any better... :)
@weapons33 because chinese head coach is liu guoliang and he doesn't play shakehand
The spin- and speed- level of both players are staggeringly far apart.

And Fang Bo style is like Ma Long style :D
His forehand has similar style with ml
Looks like some of wangs throws aren't vertical nor 6 inches at times to me
+Danthespearton HQ well the pro usually throw very high from what I've seen anyway
zhang chao styles is like zhang jike style
@weapons33

@weapons33 umadbro?
Why do they touch the middle of the table every now and then?
aznwilly211 get rid of sweat on hand

Bon après gang bonjour est clairement au dessus. Vraiment réglé des deux côtés. Mais c'est un autre style. moins élégant je trouve
watch background 03:44, lol!
Wang Zhen had too many bubble teas and not enough sit-ups!
+Vale Ntin
Haters gonna Hate! Wang Zhen is the Top Player in North America. How you like that!
He can still beat you 11-0 for 3 sets left handed with his right hand holding his bubble tea.
@GTAfreak2468
I don't have any Sun, but check out bogeyhunter9
wang is so slow
