This happened as a server glitch on 1.7.X when you push the chair (stairs if chairs plugin activated) with the piston. That will end up making you a floating limbless player.

Do you use cycles or blender internal? if you use cycle then how long does it take to make an animation? if you use blender internal, then try cycles :)
I used Blender internal for this, it only took less than half an hour to render.
