You can perfectly snap the head parts together by trimming the center hole protrusion on part B16. That's how I fixed mine.

not the hand armor the RG is more square and the HG is more dynamic
To be fair, the rg Destiny's early real grade syndrome was nowhere near as bad as the rg strike freedom. The strike freedom was actually loose in many places, whereas the rg destiny was simply weighted down by its backpack and the beam boomerangs moved around too much for my liking. Overall it was a decent kit. (But I think that I will prefer the hg destiny when I get it.)
Update 2 Yeats later... the hg destiny is much better than the rg. If you want the rg for the looks, be prepared to do a lot of extra work or simply get the hg and make it looks better.
Thank god then, i own an rg strike freedom and it’s pretty nice but i though the destiny was worse and was scared of buying it.

The HGAC Leo is also part of the Gundam Evolution Project, so it's definitely not UC-only. AFAIK the Gunpla Evolution Project label is applied for Gunpla where they try to do something a bit new, like rearranging the parts on the runners to make the assembly more systematic.
I remember the pg exia to be a part of the project due to its awesome led units as well
One thing: The RG Destiny's connection with the waist and torso sections isn't loose. It's just very hard to get it in. Once you hear the click, it's a tight fit. Same with all of the other RG's with the Strike's frame.

Glad to hear the HGCE Destiny is as good as I thought it'd be looking through the preview images. It may not have some of the RG's bell's and whistles, but hearing that it's solid is quite nice, and having its own Wings of Light is a great bonus. Also, I prefer the HGCE's legs by far compared to the RG: the former's legs has this nice curve to them that gives the leg shape without losing proportionality, on the other hand the RG's lower leg has this narrowing straight triangle shape that I just can't get over.
Definitely getting this HGCE when I get the opportunity.
I don’t blame that Mecha missed this little bit of articulation, since it is pretty hard to find, but the destiny has a drop down hip mechanism, if you just slightly pull down on the sections connecting the legs to the hip.

@@Solbrave00 afaik Destiny doesnt have the same mobility/speed to strike freedom when it comes to space and on earth. destiny however can take strike freedom when it comes to close combat. however strike freedom has dragoons and insane aimbot/weapons. so id say sf is way more powerful than the destiny

Nope, the HG Leo was part of the project. I'm starting to think that it's a legitimate project based around experimentation and not just some marketing thing to slap on the box.
Also, you've gotta get yourself a Zaku 2.0. It's a VERY nice kit save for a glaring issue that you'll notice moreso during the build since it won't effect the end product.

@@憂苦と悲惨 seed was at best mediocre while seed destiny had way more troubling issues and is considered bad at least it causes some emotions even if they're mostly negative for as in when it comes to seed everything is just mostly boring and forgettable even the few characters you probably like are also handle in a boring way

Love your reviews. I built gundam fenice hg off your recommendation and it is EASILY my favorite model out of my 34 I've built so far.
I was looking forward to a Destiny revive after seeing the Force Impulse and Freedom having a revive launch, and thanks so much for your review, now I really want one. I have the old HG Destiny, and there's so many improvements, from colour separation (the old one had some awful stickers), to new and improved effects parts.
I don't have alot of MGs but I really like my MG Destiny, it has some issues but still works out alright for cool poses.
just got the heine westenfluss custom version of the HG, and its easily my favorite HG i have. the build reminded me so much of a master grade, the color separation is superb. such a fun kit
We really need a 2.0 for the MG Destiny, it's alarming that the Dragon Momoko was the best Destiny kit at 1/100. (Metal builds aren't classified as kits ofc)

The HG oddly has the Vulcans molded into the head whereas the RG doesn't, Just noticed that!

The HG was done quite good that there are a lot of other reviews that did comparisons with the high grade. Indeed a pretty enough for an argument model.
And some information assistance: the improved Gundam SEED series HGs are referred to as HG Cosmic Era (HGCE), alternate universe line of HGUC, in contrast to the old HG Gundam SEED (HGGS) back in the day.
I like the hg more when it comes to looks, anime accurate...

I got this, and after snapping on the wing effect parts, it needed to be the centerpiece on my shelf. its just beautiful!
It's odd that the Destiny came to Real Grade first, not the Impulse. Usually, the main character's first, in anime, mobile suit comes first. What might have been if Bandai had released the Impulse first... Oh well.
My guess is the impulse wasn't popular enough compared to the destiny. The destiny had an extreme burst mode.
honestly for the best, the rg impulse benefitted from moving away from ms joints (or so people say)

the rg comes with the little hinge at the bottom for the sword i nearly missed it myself but saw it was missing something. its a very hard piece to notice

I have the older HG, they do have 3-4 of the little yellow hand pieces. I think it's one short of the full set.
Yes the massive seam line at the head! But overall still an outstanding kit for the articulation and wing effects! Not to mention the cost is value for money and you do not have to source for the elusive wing effects unlike the RG.

destiny rg is quite old (2nd gen I think), more recent RG are very dynamic and detialed
see my channel reviewed both kits, the newer design with MG style frame are better those are exceptions. A majority of RG kit still suffers degradation of the inner frame over time.
What do you do with your kits then? I love the RG because of the color seperation/details, I just put it in one pose and on my shelf and then it doesn't need to be much more than a statue

I've always like the design of the destiny and been wanting an hg of it since it showed in build fighters tri. Im a fan of the rg line but this is another hg I need to add to my collection.
I like the articulation and the set of accessories in that kit, it makes me want to buy one some day

I was thinking about buying the RG version of this until I found out it didn't include the wing effect parts and then discovered the add-on wing effect kit costs twice as much as the Gundam itself! Now that I have found this one I am seriously considering it instead of the RG Freedom Gundam that I was going to buy instead (thanks for the quick side by side comparison of the two!). Thanks for this review, which has absolutely sold me this kit, because I finally understand the difference between HG and RG and tbh, for this particular HG kit I'd rather have the included wing effect for less cost than the extra detail of the RG! Btw, what was the action base that you used at the end?

Just built this one as my first Gunpla. It was a lot of fun! 😁I started late in the afternoon and slept at 3am, had work 2 hrs later lol. Suffice to say, found a new hobby.

You can attach the wings from this kit to the 00 sky, and any backpacks from other kit with 2 hole backs, with a backpack extension part that comes kit.
The fact that the wings spread out to the sides must really be helping the balance. If they were to spread out to the back, they would have a larger affect on the center of gravity.
I grew up watching this Anime, never had any of these. . . I'LL buy one after quarantine ( COVID)..

17:36 you can still use a "Waist-giggity giggity" joints... tilt the ankle forward a little and it can do a sharp thrust for an S-stand. ;)
Also the nature of human posability, it is impossible to bend your thigh beyond the hip backward through and through. I think the default position for the Hip part is move the skirt slightly upward as a normal skirt.
If HHs are gonna be looking this good after Moon, I really cant wait to see what else they'll pull....if they keep this up

If you have the Amazing Strike Freedom, you can switch the buttflap with it's extra (Also has beam saber hilts) Kaboom, easy Gundarium tier.

IMHO I don't think it fits because the mount may be different as the RG has its own P-Bandai wing effect (what a cheeky bastard). You can modify, though.

Great Review! Gonna grab this if I see it. To be honest I don’t mind the stiff buttflap simply because I’d rather have it stiff than have it move all over the place and get loose over time.
Okay so I asked this last video but what is the best solution for if you’re kit doesn’t come with beam effect parts besides painting. My kit came with an un-painted beam.
I have the master grade extreme blast mode and I think the kit is great. Far from perfect but I don’t think it trash.

HG nice scale for starters, has some interesting kits mostly the full armor (bigger kits) especially the Zaku Thunderbolt and Unicorn were decent for HG. RG also fun to build, think there is a cool choice for anyone but reccomend a Master Grade for following up the HG due to size / skill issues. The MG kits are well proportioned and great fun, for me the best scale for it's variety. Most likely once mastered these scales, one needs A: More storage space for housing those lovely creations (ran outta mine) B: More Cash 😁✌.
Whatever your scale or preference, It is a great hobby. People who see them for the first time will give you great reactions for your creations. And all the kits are great engineering masterpieces.

RG have a lot of details but did not comes with the effect parts, so I prefer HG one. Trust me , I have the RG. 15:40 RG can't do that !

@@akuma3158 Indeed, just like Mecha said at first, the frame looks great and all, but after fiddling with it for a while, it started to get loose all over the place. The first piece of mine that's gone is that red part of v-fin and it's so damn small too.

Tho they could've put more effort into it to make it less fragile.

For the RG Destiny (which I'm currently building) there is a small square part that goes at the wrist between the arm and the hand, does yours stay in place? Mine is not secured at all, so whenever I remove the hand that piece falls off.
