For anyone wondering about the show’s aesthetic:
It is shot on ARRI cinema cameras, which is rather unusual for a late night show. This creates those nice and warm colours. The light installations make the whole thing look even better!

It is Standart PAL with 25fps. We had to follow some Rules of the TV station

@@joshbutts1708 Goth did emerge in the 80s from punk and post punk music in the 70s. Ive always said so many bands emerged from the sex pistols. Joy division, siouxsie, billy idol, specimen, adam ant etc. They all went to see that first show of the Pistols back in the 70s and after that they all went the next day and started up bands. It was a very important and interesting time for music. You even had the whole new romantic scene going on back then too. I was fortunate enough to grow up in the mid 80s as a teen goth and witness alot of cool shit first hand. It was such a great time for music! Very creative and alive! Its nice to see a band like MGMT carry the torch and do it some justice! Many bands have failed, and cannot compete with that era of music. Shine 2009 is another good band from recent. They are more electronic, but have a very good late 80s sound. Check out there first album, pretty good stuff.

@@SirPeewee Yeah, the Corona Capital live has an overall better sound to it. The vocals in this NMR live sounds very dry.
Before fanboys stab me with their pitchforks: It sounds dry because it doesn't have the 50ms+ of delay added to the vocals that causes a natural chorus effect, this is the thing that gives the vocals the oomph in the track.
This performance looks too good for TV. Camera work Captures the feeling of the song perfectly.

I'm actually quite surprised Jan Böhmermann had MGMT. I knew they play good music on his late night show, but I didn't know they do it with international music aswell, also it's so special that I thought it might be too special for TV - but it's still neo magazin royale, so it makes sense.
