Thank you for covering "Brandy"! My Uncle is Elliott Lurie, the singer and writer of the song!
Your uncle wrote a classic.
Great song!
One of the best!
Your uncle's voice, and song, were a huge part of my youth. Without going into detail, I listened, sang, and played that Looking Glass jam from when it came out in high school until I left my radio career in the late 90's. Thank him for me.
Wow, your uncle helped create the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 soundtrack. You should be proud! 🤣
absolutely amazing! what a sound!
This is a really fine group of musicians; they're perfect without appearing to make an effort. And Josh on the bongos looks so very happy. What a pleasure.
Though I always love to hear him on guitar!!!
@@petertrout8140 Right! Incredible talent right here.
Have you ever seen a smaller drum kit used in a performance? And that fellow has everything he needs. Bravo.
Given the handheld single camera - shooting a whole band and not just Josh or a sitting duo - Kelly does a fine job here.
Kelly, you’re a fine girl.😇
And not tripping up those stairs while trying to film! 👍👍
It's impossible to watch Marc on bass without just smiling your ass off -- he's loving it, every beat, every bar, the whole thing. Go Marc!
Go watch their 2019 cover of Buffalo Springfield’s, For What It’s Worth.
I wish everyone enjoyed their self that much.
Yeah Marc is just killin' it on the bass ❤
The Bus Band is always a treat to hear!!
The “other” Other Favorite
Yeah I love these guys
If you've never recorded a song with a group of musicians, you may not realize how absolutely astonishing this is. One continuous take, a handful of mics, recording outside, and you sound THAT good? It's just incredible. Well done!
Bass player really steals the show in this one. Completely drives the song and amazing groove timing bang on
He's really tight!
WOW! I suddenly find myself poolside in the 1970s sipping an ice cold coke, hanging with dear friends, grooving to this song. Thank you so much for transporting me to a happy memory so eloquently🙏
Such a fantastically controlled performance from the drummer, playing a groove that solid at a volume that low is not an easy thing.
I think it’s amazing that these young people appreciate 60’s and 70’s music. Made long before they were born. Fantastic performance.
Josh never misses. Everyone he collaborates with is of gigantic talent. Wow what a cover. Great camerawork from Kelly too.
this is one the best series on youtube at the moment.... the music is perfect, the vibe is right on point and the cinematography is amazing.
That was so much fun!
Awesome players like these folks adding tasty licks, the vocals were so sweet (I swear you can hear the smiling)...the whole is more than the sum of the parts.
Made my day so much better.
Thank you!
Hey you borrowed a line from Tim purcell of foxes and fossils fame! Lol. Awesome job Josh and the bus band!
Magical. Everyone looks like they’re radiating joy
This song takes me back to the summer of 72, cleaning horse tack in a barn on a rainy Saturday morning. Funny how music can take us back into time. Great cover! You guys sound great together. Thanks Josh
I was in jump school at Fort Benning.
@@markolson9333 I was finishing boot camp at San Diego and getting ready to go to Infantry Training School.
One of my favorite songs for 40+ years! I love the way Josh sings, "...gifts..." @ 1:58!!
Josh & friends are adding joy to the world one song at a time makes my heart smile.
OMG...I haven't heard Brandy in years...decades.
Great cover, sent shivers down my back, so very close to the original.
Thank you so much.
Can’t wait to the next episode with Reina and Toni👍
Excellent performance. I’m old enough to remember when this was a top hit. Always enjoy performances as close to the original.
Josh Turner... what a talent. As are all the other musicians that play with him, including the amazing Carson McKee. Thanks everyone for sharing your talent. It is music to us, your audience's ears!.
I just realized that 3/4 of my "good vibes" playlist are songs from Josh's channel. This gem's joining the team. Great job guys!
lmao i had the same thing. Its now the best of josh reina toni and carson playlist
nice pfp
@@direwolf7080 exactly!
I've sat in the Pavilion so many times watching bands. I wish I had been there to see you guys in person. I hope you enjoyed your day there.
I can't explain it. I have watched so many of Josh Turner's covers of songs that always seemed so old and tired to me, and he just brings them to life. It is just a delight to hear them, and to watch his band play.
Josh smiling throughout the song just like Elliot! Priceless!
SO awesome seeing a new generation of great musicians keeping great music alive! well done!!
Around 1996, one of the band members of Looking Glass was a member of The Little River Band. LRB played a concert at a tiny beach-bar on the northern shore of Clear Lake ( near the tiny community of Del Lago - Texas, USA... near Houston ). My girlfriend and I were one of about 10 people in the audience of the outdoor performance. We danced to this song. I always thought there was something special about that song. This rendition is at least as good as the original.
Great to see Marc still has that contagious smile the entire time he's playing
Haha love the way Josh says "gifts" at 1:57. So sassy!
my favorite bassist! he makes me smile
Wow kelly's videography realy brings a lot to the story of among friends.
You and your friends never fail to amaze me. The authenticity of you sound is always spot on! I don't know if you'll ever get rich, doing what you do but you will always be loved by your fans. If you ever do a cover of Please Come To Boston, You'll make a 65 year old man cry.
The smile on Josh's face during the filming suits him. So glad you are able to be back on the road making music with your friends.
Wow, this is great! One of my long time favorite songs, too! I know you don't take requests, but I would love to see what you and the BotBB could do with Sugerloaf's "Green Eyed Lady"!
You can always tell a good take by Josh's grin!
You guys are the most talented young people I’ve ever heard. Josh you remind me of Buddy Holly, so much talent.God Bless all of you, keep on rocking… music will last forever!
I remember when Josh was a kid, he was an amazing guitar player and now he's still a great guitar player and a great singer.
1972 was a great year for music! Thanks!
Rally amazing, I also do music with not this much Subscribers, if you have some free time ,check it out
One of the first 45's I bought with my $1/week allowance. Your Uncle's voice is a special part of my childhood memories. The skater's couldn't complain about that performance.
Love this! And love the band, Marc always looks so happy when he is playing, he's like a golden retriever of a human! (and a killer bass player too)!
From 1972, it was the happiest year of my youth. Named my first child, born in 1981 after this song. Always knew that I would.
The perfect welcome to summer
A beautiful cover of one of my favorite songs. Put a smile on my face!
Can we just take a minute to appreciate how much Bob gets it!
Hey Josh and the gang thanks for keeping us old people's music alive you're really do it justice keep up the good work
my mind boggles - i listen to so much music and no matter where how deep I go in Roon with all my favourite bands I always end up listening to something by you Josh and god damn I don't understand how you and your buds perform at such a high level and record at an even higher relative level to EVERYONE - this version of Brandy was insane - bravo bravo
So glad you guys have met up again after so long. You are all such superb musicians!
One of the greatest one hit wonders of the ‘70s, along with “Green-Eyed Lady,” mentioned by another poster. Beautifully executed.
Always feel like you're having fun and that's what music should BE!! :)
1:39 this shot is just pure vibes
Bravo, Sir! I seriously stood up and clapped. In my den, by myself. I couldn't help it.
Josh Turner is my #vocalgoals.
Nice rendition of this classic. The song was huge when it was out and seemed like it played on the radio every 15 minutes.
Stellar! So laid back performance, fantastic song, fantastic musicianship, fantastic band, fantastic singing!!!
This serie is so so so lovely! That's such a great idea, I'm loving it! Thank you Josh!
Great job guys. That bass man was working it!
Excellent, laid back people making it looking easy doing real fine art while having fun.
Another favourite for me
This song was so in your wheel house
Love it that you and the boys were able to get together again. Sloop John buy is still one of my favourites
Don’t forget about baby driver!!
I'm from LA and on Spring break, but staying up at school and seeing you guys drive through where I grew up is pretty comforting. Thanks for covering such a great song. Lots of love
You found that classic sound! Good job boys!
Currently compiling a list Joss best covers.. at this
moment this is number one
Although I am going through horn section withdrawal I have to say this is a fantastic cover of one of my all-time favorites.
I was a child when this song came on the radio. My friends mom had a van with crushed velvet and glass beads and got a mile to the gallon. We would sing this song with its catchy tune.
Thank you for performing this song, sans digital music. I love this song for years, graduated high school with this song on Kasey Kasem’s show. Those were the days. Immense appreciation.
YOOOO, MY FAVORITE 70s SONG!!😆🙌🙌🙌
I love the music, but I think I love the human moments even more. I'm here for all of it. Please do more of it.
Love this song, and lots of great memories at Balboa Park, hanging out at this exact same spot. Bravo
This song was a great one-hit wonder - as Looking Glass had the number one record for just one week! Great rendition and choice, guys!
Yes! I’m so glad you guys are able to get out and work again! So much fun.
Insane work ! Great production and amazing story, gives a good retro vibe, keep it up.
Wow, this is absolutely awesome!! Brandy is one of my all-time favorite songs and I’ve heard countless versions but you guys really nailed it and especially as a musician and so many of my “past lives…I appreciate all the intense artistry and musicality and amazing vocal quality and everything you do… And so great to see you with Reina and Tony, maybe my favorite trio of everything you are involved with but that could change day today every time I see a new video and a new conglomeration of all you’re talented people… And as someone who used to make his own home recordings on two of the old-school Panasonic tape recorders and did multi track vocals and instrumentation and then graduated to doing all that in studios, I can appreciate how you sing and play every part like a modern day Paul McCartney making his debut solo album 🎼🎤🎸🎹🎸🥁🎸
This song is like a movie.
Awesome job guys. Josh, you just rock.
Such talent! And they seem to be living the life. So fun to be along for the ride. I’m 76 but when I watch these videos I feel 30 again! Thank you!
Always a good time with Josh.
I was 9 years old in 1972. We were singing this and whistling it all day long.
What a neat adventure to witness! Great cover of Brandy....The one shot "Scorsese" look works well!
You bring so much joy to my heart Josh
You sound so good,YOU always do such justice to all your music!☘💯☘🇺🇸💯❤👏👏
This song is fantastic. This is a really good musician combo! In future years when you have a "Greatest Hits" album, this recording belongs on it!
Finally. I've been obsessed with this song ever since the intro on the first episode
It's wonderful to see - and hear - you guys together again!
one of the greatest songs ever .....
so do you get like some CZcams Award for like always having the best quality video, the greatest audio recording quality, and putting on great performances of a wide arrange of music styling with a random bunch of friends all at such an amazing pace. once again y'all nailed it. Beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
wow josh and team are soo good
Amazing rendition! Sounds so good I thought the instrumental was ripped from the original track BUT IT AIN'T! Love it. Can't wait for the follow up vids of the trip.
Josh you have turned the dial up on every song of this series. I can’t even say you took a backseat on this one as just the lead singer, it turned out so good. Good stuff as always
I’m OBSESSED with this
Every now and then I revisit this series and hope so bad you go on another road trip. Incredible range of talent and joy on display.
I knew before the music started this was going to be a great rendition.
Thank you for making me smile, I always liked this song but I LOVE your rendition!
Love from Holland
Hollywood Forever cemetery, and so many other ones in the L.A. area, is fantastic. A lot of famous show business people buried there.
This is such a great musical adventure with you all. And all the music is phenomenal. Wow
This young man named Joshua Turner is as polished a musician, singer and song writer that I have seen. He's a professional in every sense of the word.
Delightful. Not my usual style but a great song that I"ve known all my life (it seems). Done just right. What a presentation!
so in love with this series--may be the best thing you've ever done
So much joy coming from these guys, living their best life and sharing it! Thank you!
Bongos, bongos, bongos! I went to California first time when I was 18 in 1978. Left Canadian winter behind for a week. Been back every so often to visit friends. Got property in Joshua Tree. California gets under your skin. Loved the cover of Brandy and the beach clip. Keep it up, it’s great.
Everyone is just phenomenal. Again and again.
These are simply lovely video vignettes
