    You explained this so much better then everyone else I’ve watched. Thank you for the info. I’m still learning and some ppl on CZcams go way too fast. And don’t show everything or explain it well. You did such a great job explaining and showing how to. So I love how slow you went and I was able to follow you so much better then the other channels. You have a new fan! Thanks!

    Hi Marilyn ,
    Thanks for s great tutorial !
    I’ll be a first time grandma in October.
    I am new to this .
    I don’t have a mini press cricut but do have a cricut easy press 2 . Do you think that I can use that ?

    • @MakingwithMarilyn
      @MakingwithMarilyn  Před 2 lety

      Congratulations on your upcoming grandchild! I bet you will have all kinds of fun making things for him/her. I think the Easy Press 2 will be fine. You may need to let the bulk of the elephant hang off the side of your table/countertop/whatever you are pressing on while you press the ears, but I think it will work just fine. Thanks so much for watching!!!

    Hi there! Thanks so much for this video. All was going well until I got to the command key. Pcs don't have a command key. So I'm lost with how to select the white or the pink only items so they print the way they are organized on the mat. Any help is appreciated. I'll be doing a lot of cutting and attempts to place them straight myself.

      I did a quick search and what I read says that the control button on a PC is often the key to use in place of the command button on a PC. Do you want to try this out and let me know if it works. If it doesn't, I will dig deeper? Thanks for watching!!!

      Thank yo so much!!! The colors you use on your phone or tablet won't matter and you can choose any color to represent your design. The important part is using the correct color of vinyl when you cut the various parts.

    How well do these stick long term? Can they be put in the washing machine? Slightly concerned about the vinyl coming loose around babies incase it become their favourite toy, more rather than a display piece.
    What is anyone's long term experience?

    • @MakingwithMarilyn
      @MakingwithMarilyn  Před 2 lety

      The lady I made this for put it up as decoration in the baby's room. I don't know how it would fare in the washing machine but my htv shirts do fine in the washing machine. I would be a bit concerned that if the baby plays with it as they get older and chews on it that the vinyl could be a choking hazard. If you make these, I would sell/give them as decor and not a baby toy. Thank you so much for your question. It brings up an excellent point.

    • @MakingwithMarilyn
      @MakingwithMarilyn  Před 3 lety

      Almost any heat transfer vinyl or iron on vinyl would be okay, but I have included links for what I used. The pink is called "Everyday Iron On" and here is a link to it (it comes in a 3 pack with a variety of colors and the rolls aren't very wide). www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07N3FCRH1/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B07N3FCRH1&linkCode=as2&tag=makingwith022-20&linkId=24108872f6302dc4a49c8be339e32415
      The white was a scrap from a larger roll. Various lengths of rolls are sold and mine is pretty big, but I will link you to a smaller roll in case you want to try it out first for a lot less money. The link to it is www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07R8S7TK6/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B07R8S7TK6&linkCode=as2&tag=makingwith022-20&linkId=de931604bc233f86eac2333ea9b97604

    Hi why is the white vinyl a cold peel??

    • @MakingwithMarilyn
      @MakingwithMarilyn  Před 3 lety

      Some vinyls are hot peel and some are cold peel. This is designated by the maker of the vinyl. If you pull the backing off of a cold peel before it cools down, it has the potential to stretch and get ruined. I prefer to be able to peel the backing right off:) But it is worth the wait.

    • @MakingwithMarilyn
      @MakingwithMarilyn  Před 3 lety

      Thank you very much! I had never seen or heard of a 6 x 12 mat so I did a little research. Looks like they may have discontinued the 6 x 12 mats. I read some reviews on them and apparently people found that they weren't real stable for cuts, but worked okay for using with a cricut pen. If you can get the mat to work well with cuts, it would be fine since the pieces of htv are small. Have you used the half mats for cutting projects before? If you decide to buy mats, you can get 3 on Amazon for a decent price.
