I wonder if they have one of the old trading bugs that if you are trading with someone, and somebody comes between you, they interloper can sometimes get the trade item somehow. I've never been a part of one of those issues, but I remember a patch mentioning that it had been fixed. Hopefully they didn't take the code that far back, or if they did, they still put in the fix for it. Hey, vanilla had a lot of nasty and glitchy things that needed to get fix, and eventually did get fixed. It was never a wonderland of perfection that some people like to remember it as. (I myself had found around a half dozen places in the world you could get stuck on the geometry, and back then they didn't have a /stuck command. A GM had to teleport you out, even hearthing wouldn't work.)
Imagine being a streamer, wishing and crying for vanilla for years, saying how you miss when everything was harder and how you can't wait to grind your ass off for gold. And now classic comes out, and these streamers get showered with items and gold by their viewers and all they do is spam dungeons non-stop, almost as if they are on retail wow.

The Real Best way to farm classic gold: be Level 40+, preferrably maxed out, but works great for leveling with 55+ too.Look for grey-leveled Beast-mobs (if youre doing this to Level Green or yellow, depending on your ttk and Equipment), Kill and loot grey items. Some of These are worth 10+s each and Stack at least 5 times with a droprate of 50%. If the monster has 3 of these in its loottable every kill is worth 75s statistically. With a TTK of 20 seconds From kill to kill thats 120g+/h. And thats Not Even taking grey weapons etc into Account which are worth 1g+ at Level 58+ Enjoy your mount at 60.
As a level 60 hunter 12 years ago the raiding guild I was in wanted everyone to have the 100% speed mounts within a week or they would start removing people, I farmed SM for a few days and got the gold. ever since then (until I quit wow in WoD) I was a life long gold farmer and have three characters gold caped. It's all still on those alts, time well spent apparently.
Luck" was totally me.. I was playing as a resto Druid before dual spec, struggled to solo farm, so I was playing with my friend for the whole day in Winterspring farming rep for some bear faction.. 5min after he logged out, I got an Epic Sword drop from a common. Giving me 600g in Auction House The days of running Travel from 40% speed as lvl 60 was finally over ! So my first mount was the white Alterac Valley Wolf!
Dont forget the endless camping farm. Find one of the scarlet outposts in plaguelands, kill the same dozen spawns over and over and over and over and scream at anyone who dares to show up that you own this spot now, and over and over and over. Or in a handful of other spots that are high level but easy kills. And pray for that lucky epic drop.
I remember at least in vanilla, my way to farm gold was leveling alts. Maxed out nearly all classes and then paid for my mains stuff. Farmed a lot on my rogue and hunter. Rogue as it was a pvp server and could farm in the back away from everyone, and annoy a few others.
i enjoyed farming mobs for hours. but it was impossible in classic because everybody else were there too... u could never have a spot alone and just have fun.
I just skin until I'm 60 then get a new prof at 60 if I don't need skinning on that character. Also use the AH and don't vendor items until one or two rounds on the AH. You can also sell the skins on the AH as you level, if you don't need them.
