- The Alpini are the mountain troops of the Italian Army, as they were for the Royal Army.
The Alpini were born in 1872, and they are the oldest active Mountain Infantry Corps in the world, originally created to protect Italy's northern mountain borders.
The Italian mountain troops fought hard during the first and second world wars ,showing skills in hard territories and bravery; after the reorganization of the army around the 90's with the end of the cold war, some alpini brigades got disbanded; in modern times, Alpini troops are fighting in NATO's perhaps in pacekeeping operations.
the anthem (as for other songs and chants) is sang in the classic "a cappella" style,tipical of the Alpini troops-

I am Austrian Guard of Honour.. My ancestours have fought the Alpini. These are soldiers I really want to give my honour to. My ancestors were Styrian Soldierds, so I I guess you so saw the toughetst shit. Thank you that you were fighting my country. You are honourable soldiers. Austria has fought every nation in this world, and you were totally honourable! Alpini! Yes, that is an enenmy that we saw wnd we love.Don't forget we have fought the NaZI SS troups or the Red Army. We have seen a lot of shit. WW1 and seeing Italians, It was lovely.
Let us be lovely friends again. In Styria it has become very comon to speak Italian. Let us speak a common language and ignore the past of wars.
Through my family both my grandfather, my father and my grandgrandfather were Alpini, the latter unfortunately never returned from Russia but my grandfather told me that his father told him about "the Jagers" and he said that they were brave as lions.

The translation is a little off but great video anyways
Translating perfectly two languages isn't easy, because in Italian songs a lot of phrases make no sense in english, so you're forced to change something to give the same meaning, or trying to at last
