Today I'll show you how to make an MDF jig that turns your circular saw into a fully functioning Track Saw. You don't need any expensive tools.. in fact all you need is a circular saw... duh, a thread tap, and some spring clamps. Let me know what you think about cool shop / woodworking jigs and if you're interesting in more of these shop - based projects.

Nice video. Track saws are a great addition to an artisans arsenal of tools. This saves about $800. Thank you

Ide yang bagus dalam membantu pekerjaan
Thank you so much 😀
Great technique and patient attention to detail. Lots of little, but important lessons here about craftsmanship on any project. Thanks.
thank you very much
This was probably the first silent tutorial I've ever loved!
Your instructions were so detailed and love the graphics you added to show the cut lines!
Screw you to those weird troll commenters
Thank you, now i still make silent tutorial coz i not convidence with my voice but hope i can give voice over in next video, but i try make detail instruction😅
@@plywoodworking Keep up the good work and you'll be just fine!
Yes, i always make try give the best, make good video and clear information. Thank you for your support
Nice unit. I don't really see a need for the fence, though. The groove that your aluminum piece rides in should be all you need.
Alternative instead of screwing the aluminum rail to the saw you could get thicker aluminum and cut a kerf in it and slide it on the side of the saw just have to wing bolts lock it from above after.
thank you very much

So practical and easy to make & use.. Thank so much for sharing.
You are so welcome!

I could have milled that all out of one piece in the CNC.. Mine would be smaller around 30". Thanks I love watching your videos.

Good sae
Nice,..good work.. but me, I would go and buy a track saw..lol.
If can buy more good use aluminium rail but the prize expensive on my country almost $200 in here
Yes, ..over here is the same..around £180...but.. it's light weight, and easy to travel to the job site, but your idea is a great innovation.. and great for shop work..well done.
Good 3d animation dude.
Thank you
@@plywoodworking easy to understand.
Ten elements of the perfect DIY track saw:
1) Reduced track thickness for greater cut depth--especially with circular saws less than 7 1/4" as so many are today.
2) No fence. Rout two tracks to make the track non-handed.
3) HDPE runner, extended forward for saw alignment ahead of material engagement.
4) Non-slip tape = no clamps
5) Rout T-slot or dovetail groove in underside of track for those situations where clamping is desirable.
6) Shorter interlocking tracks.
7) Embedded tape measure on track edge.
8) Spring for true plunge. (Would reduce runner length.)
9) Butt parts to spaer blocks. Don't rely on measurements for precise alignment.
10) Zero clearance base plate insert for zero tear out.
Thumbs up if you'd like a video tutorial. It's do two. One CNC. One standard power tools. Both would include comparisons to so-called universal track saws, including costs.
thank you very much

Bascically a nice idea. No vacuum for all that mdf powder, though he does seem to be wearing a dust mask. Blows it off all over his nice motorbike ....

hello sir, what's the size and thickness of that steel bar....thaks
I use 3-4 layer, 1 layer 2mm total 6-8mm but you can buy with thickness 2 inchi or 5mm. That enough for guide
Great job! Thanks for sharing...!
your welcome hope can give you inspired
Good idea thank for share
Thank you
Cool animation 😀👍
Thank you👍
fantastic 👌
Thank you👍
So...why not just use the straight-edge and clamps from the first cut. The clamps will be required for the track also.
thank you for suggestion
Animasinya keren Bg
Makasih banyak mas
Great work. Just wondered why you used clamps before and after in the last cut as you were going? Couldn't you have used donuts under the piece you were cutting and not have to worry about clamps?
Great point!
Hello friend, I am your fan. You build very interesting woodworking tools. Could you throw a plan for this project.
Thank you, i dont have plan for this video buat i upgrade my track saw, i have plan for new track saw
czcams.com/video/Qq80qS4m1EY/video.html
Cakep, bikin ah, cm modif dikit, kasih space sebelah fence, buat tempat ngeclamp.trus bawahnya ksh fence lg kira2 setengah spt speed square.
Wah mantap tambahan ideya gan, bnr versi ini krng lebar buat area clampya jdi agk ngeganggu emg. Nanti cm sy update br lbh mantap hasilya
what software is used for the animamation, example the saw flipping over, etc.
I use 3d max for make animation

Video is great, especially the computer animation. Design of the track doesn’t seem that useful though, you had to move the clamps 3 times to make that cut at the end of the video. Maybe the “fence” that you used for clamping could have been made wider so the saw’s motor could clear the clamps without all that readjusting? Ain’t nobody got time fo’ dat!
Yes you right, more good if more wider.
My new plan make new design more smooth and wider
I think so
hi! sir, what adhesive that you apply to the metal bar....thanks
also the size of the metal
epoxy glue
Interesting video. Thanks for sharing.
It would help if there was no music track. The music is distracting and doesn't add any benefit to the video.
your welcome, thank you fo suggestion, i change new music on new video!
Working on MDF - no mask, no dust extraction. Oh dear!
Thank you
Зачем он на шине кроме паза сделал еще бортик? Разве паза не достаточно?
i give extra fence on edge coz sometime if cutting long plywood i lost my grip and this fence for hold circular saw, i know only track can work, fence only for safety
Mojon maaf tanya om..
Itu klo di beli mahar brapa ya ?
Ini udh lama bgt mas, udh dibeli am tmn yg model ini, biasaya klo aq jual tp bkn mdf material tp hmr jauh diatas itu anti air kisaran 200-300rban

1:32 That moment when you realize you forgot to set the saws blade depth....
100% right i forgot set up blade height
I think so
Kurang lebar dikit biar luas utk tmpt klamp nya😊
nah bnr bgt mas setuju bgt am masukan, ini bakalan diupdate lbh lebar jdi br clampya gk ganggu
Since you installed a runner, why do you need the rail on the left side of the saw??
My friend ask like your question, sometime if cut long plywood, my hand slip and the rail use for secure if i slip for runner
Hi, what kind of glue are you using in the video you can't see well it's blurry thanks
i use local brand glue on this video, on new video i use titebone 2
@@plywoodworking
ok, thanks but I meant the transparent bottle, the one you put on the aluminum is not glue? What kind of glue is it? Thanks
long fingernails is a big no no to a tradesman.
How else will he sniff his coke, either that or he's a pimp lol.
Cutting MDF with no dust mask while wearing sandals, I'm thinking long nails are the least of his worries lol.
thank you very much
Essa música é muito legal man
thank you
No se me hace cómodo tener que estar moviendo las prensas mientras haces el corte. Ya haría la base mas hancha para poder colocar las prensas y que no pegue el motor. De cualquier forma es una buena idea tu guia. Gracias por compartir!
thank youi
Dude the amount of expensive tool you use in this "DIY" video is ridiculous. The purpose of DIY is to save money in general. Otherwise we can just buy the expensive Bosh saw rail. It is totally possible to build this with easy cheap tools. That's what we want to see.
Thank you
Nice what router brand are you using?
that product from Makita
Tumben malem om upload nya, btw knp pake MDF om?
Iya sibuk pas banyak kerjaan mkya bru bs kekejar mlmya hehe.
Pilih mdf soalya pasti rata permukaanya am klo buat diy gini plng enak pke mdf butuh presisi am lbh berat mdf drpd plywood
Um, you built this to make straight cuts on top of a table saw. You own a TABLE SAW!!!!
Yes i use this if not in my workshop, some need cut long in project location that why i make this and have some request from my follower make this video
A track saw is good for breaking down large stock that you do not want to run through your table saw, if you dont have a huge outfeed table etc.
Yes maybe you have problem with ypur fence this can little subtitution, or maybe you will build DIY table saw need fence can use this
Very good guide, but it still takes the circular saw baseplate above the guide, so that the saw loses maximum depth capacity... How about making a parallel aluminum guide that screws to the side of the saw base, so that the saw base glides directly on the material to be cut, and thus allows the original cutting depth to be conserved???
thank you for suggestion
I will try to send you a photo of my old Bosch rail system, where the jigsaw is bolted to a sliding aluminum plate, that mounts on the rail raised ridge, and places the sole or baseplate of the saw directly on the material to be cut, so that the entire depth of cut remains available!... But give me some time to find it!!!

Whatever happened to nail clippers...?
Too busy so many project coz that why i forget cut my nail, thank you foryour reminder
Those coke nails are so distracting. -_-
couldnt agree more. dude needs to cut them nails for sure. once i seen them i couldnt focus on nothing else.
thank you very much
So weird for man have longer nails
To get accurate cuts with a right-bladed saw, you had to set up your initial fence a lot further out, and then cut left-handed so the saw is supported by the piece being cut, NOT by the off-cut side! This is a very common mistake when using a circular saw and it results in the saw tilting left at the end of the cut - which lowers the quality of the cut dramatically.
thank you for suggestion, this project my first time make track saw, i know use this not 100% accurate but this project give much experience
I experienced that problem your suggestion is GOLD. Thanks very mucho.
Hey I read your comment several times but still having trouble understanding what you really mean. Can you elaborate more or if you have a video about it, it would be nice. Thanx.
@@antonwahyudi1096 he means that you need to make sure that when you cut the edge off you need to make sure that the saw is supported by the guide not the off cut.
Should have shown a micrometer reading on the cutoff to show how accurate it was.
yes you right i forgot add that on video

Почему просто не взять алюминиевые профили?
i try make more save money coz that why i not use that
I think this is bad because then you've got those two bars on the bottom of your saw all the time, unless you want to remove and replace them over and over. I'd call this a big fail.
Thank you very much!
use a short piece of pre-drilled t-track OR at least drill pilots through the aluminum and THEN through the saw base -- too many commeciais
thank you very much
