shane is a very interesting character in the game that you’ll want to befriend. he warms up to you over time and you get to know his VERY deep thoughts

hello, i bring in the tips ✨
- forage a lot, it really helps at the start of the game for money while waiting for crops to grow
- chop down trees to get wood and make chests! it's useful to know you can put them outside your farm
- chests are super useful since you can place them almost anywhere and put items when your inventory’s full i.e. when fishing
- once you earn enough money you can buy a bag at pierre's for 2000g to expand your inventory
- give gifts to townsfolk to increase your relationship and get heart events (cutscenes)
- you can craft small torches and place them everywhere cause this game is really dark at night
hopefully this helps amanda and any new players!
Also, Remember to harvest your crops as soon as they fully grow so you can make as much profit as possible!

From a person who did romance Sebastian, you might want to check the wiki because getting a hold of him and his schedule was a little tricky (at least for me)
Until I got to two hearts with him, I literally sat outside his door for hours some days just to talk to him and give him a gift.
IMPORTANT TIP:
DO NOT BE HURT when no one wants to dance with you at a certain party! Everyone struggles to get hearts before the dance the first year.

Oddly enough, if you give Shane pizza twice a week and one on his birthday (it falls before the festival) he’ll dance with you.
I danced with Shane and I don’t even intended to have a dance partner when I started first playing. 😂
I didn't even bother asking the first year, and skip it the second year (totally forgot about it not gonna lie)
The third year finally danced with someone with the copper pan on my head... was surprised I didn't magically changed in that dancing dress everyone seems to put on themselves like in a fraction of second.

Lmao you can look up everyone schedule on wiki so you can find the person you’re looking for - that took me a minute but it’s kind of a huge map and everyone’s pretty busy.

I played it last year on PC but I got it on the Switch recently, there's been so much new content added I'm really excited to check out! I bought it last week but I've been putting it off, watching Amanda play it now I think has finally given me the push I need. xD
They are about to drop a big update any day now! Version 1.5 is suppose to add a ton of new stuff so you may want to wait.
It's been well over a year for me since I played it last because I did get a Switch last Christmas and have been playing other games. With the new update, I ought to play it. I keep on thinking I'll go for a different guy, but in the end I end up with Elliott because I am into guys with long hair and he's a romantic lol.

Stardew Tips: Don't stay out past 1 am because you will pass out and either owe money, or get robbed, Sebastian is a programmer with a motorcycle, Granny loves fairy rose which you can buy in winter, invest a lot of money in seeds, If you accidentally till the soil you can use the pickaxe to undo it, always keep at least 3-5 of everything just in case, you can find a lot of the towns people's favorite dishes if you go to the saloon talk to Gus at the counter and scroll all the way down, you can watch the tv and see the queen of sauce to learn recipes to cook later, till the soil were you see worms, be nice to linus he's a sweetheart, also don't be afraid to look at the stardew wiki it helps, that's all I can think of rn have fun 😋

Okay, so you keep going by the farm but not actually go into it. You can visit the farm. You SHOULD visit the farm.
At the saloon, there is an entire side you haven't noticed on the right. Friday nights are bumpin'! Who knows who you might come across in there when the music is hot. ...music that you can change, by the way.
So, about fishing, that little green bar, you have to try to keep the fish that's in the meter inside the green bar. Press the button to make the green bar go up and stop pressing it to let it drop. Fishing is actually a great source of money.
Lastly, you forgot to go back to that building that you explored with Lewis. I won't give spoilers, so just go back and explore.
Last thing, keep some wood handy. You will need it soon, but the game doesn't tell you this. Trust me, keep a few bundles of wood for later.
OH! Last thing for real! You can actually see the friendship/love meter for every town member toward you. It is in the menu. I think it's the start button, but play around with it, it's definitely there. It's the list of every town member that you've met. ...even him...❤️

Shane bums me out. Character development is great as your friendship grows but when you get married his room is messy and scattered with beer cans and his drinking problem persists . He doesn’t relapse and struggle with sobriety...he never stops drinking 🥺
@@tionalkcore it’s actually soda cans. When you reach his 14 heart event you learn that he only goes to the saloon to play the arcade machine and drink soda.

Oh i love this game! I'm not so good at giving tips but if you want money fast there is a duplication glitch in this version of the game and you can make some serious bank with a single potato. Just put the potato in a wooden chest, fill your backpack up, go to the chest, grab the potato (or item of your choice in the chest) drag it to the organizer option and click away.

That Intro is the most relatable thing I've ever seen and it hurt to watch. I can't count how many games I've played where I've spent hours deciding over a haircut or a name.
Okay, time for some tips!
1. So, in each year, there is one month per season. There are birthdays and different events per season. You can check them out on the calander near Pierre's shop.
2. There are some crops that you can only plant in a certain season, and some that you can plant in mulitple seasons. Try to think and plant ahead to map out when to plant a crop in order to make profit.
3. As you can tell, there are many characters you can date: Sam, Alex, Haley, Elliot, Sebastian, Harvey, Penny, Maru, Shane, Emily, Haley and Leah. It doesn't matter what gender you are, the characters will love you either way. You can also give gifts to all the characters at most twice a week. The gift system has a ranking per character, so each character has hate, dislike, nuetral, like, and love items. To give a character an item, scroll over an item in your inventory, and talk to them to give them it.
4. You can check your relationship with characters, and each of them show a number of hearts that show how close you are with them. Each romancable character has an extra two hearts you're able to reach. Also, there are 'heart cutscenes' available per few hearts, and it depends on what character it is to determine how many hearts needed for a cutscene.
I can give you more tips later if you need more help, but I hope you continue playing the game; it's really fun and I love your commentary!

pro tip: sebastian hangs out with sam and abigail at the saloon every friday all year! the gifts he loves are hard to get early on, and he generally dislikes the things that are easy to get when ur just starting, but the clams and corals that you can find on the beach are some things hes neutral to that are easy to get early in the game ^w^!!!!
