- Illinois and Hawaii played on day 3 of the 2024 Little League World Series. This was the first game that Illinois played in Williamsport, while Hawaii entered with a 1-0 record.

One of my favorite accomplishments is revolutionizing the way sports channels create thumbnails. I've adopted two different styles, one with logos on the left and a game snapshot on the right, and the other with the logos in the middle and game snapshots representing both teams on either side.
I have a combined 4 years of experience as a Baseball & Basketball Play by Play announcer, which is where I learned my skills for commentary/breakdowns.

Solid game for Hawaii as expected ! This might be one of the most competitive LLWS in years …a lot of good teams 🔥
Hawaii is the underdog this year. But as good teams do, they make less mistakes than the other team. Walks and hbp are errors that can be avoided. Still proud of the boys from Maui.
Japan and Venezuela look mighty so far.
Venezuela and flordia and Texas and Nevada are in my opinion
I live in Illinois so was rooting for them but I know teams like Hawaii, Florida and Texas are just a level better

I’ve seen 90% of the LLWS games & all of the games that Wheels has posted. The home plate umpire was absolutely the worst of the entire playoffs & he definitely changed the outcome. Hawaii still might have won the game 1 to 0, but no way 5 to 0. I truly feel sorry for the Illinois lads.
The 3-2 pitch, that was a horrible call.
@@jwwj30 the PA game had a similar outcome as PA is down 1-0 and a kid leans into a pitch to allow Texas back to the top of their order with 2 outs in the inning

Nah you guys are taking away from Evan Tavares masterpiece. He dominated the Illinois batters so bad. Illinois was lucky it wasn’t 10-0 with all of the runners Hawaii left on base. Illinois escaped a blowout with excellent defense. 5-0 was a respectable effort from the outmatched Illinois squad.

Even Hawaii’s first 3 pitches was strikes. But that’s the down size to having volunteer umpires.
Umpire sort of screwed Illinois. Not saying they would've won but changed the game for sure

Great game, great sportsmanship from both sides, good umpires!
This is needless to say, but teams which hit grounders into gaps win games. Home runs are nice, but getting on base is prime. Taylor in the Juniors championship hit flies to fielders most the game as did Illinois in this game. I'm got that "money ball" mindset. Nice job Hawaii.
7:18- I think the radar gun bugged because that was not 83 mph

Illinois was out matched but the home plate ump was TERRIBLE. Not sure what his deal was and seemed Hawaii got more calls.

Maui resident here….Illinois got absolutely screwed by that umpire. it’s sad that little league preached tolerance so much, because that ump deserved so much more vocal abuse than what he actually endured. he straight up ruined the game for illinois and was able to walk off the field without a word from anyone
Illinois lost regardless. Umpire did not shut them out. But if you don’t like your island Maui should not be here in the first place. Modified double elimination

@@grimmeygreens3728 most of the bad calls were when Illinois was on defense, actually his poor strike zone made it so Tavares couldn’t throw a complete game. Put a decent umpire in the game the score is probably 2 or 3 to 0

Umpires in the LL World Series have always been inconsistent. Like Metallica sang, ‘Sad but True’…
The only way to get a team to back off the plate is to have your hardest thrower make a few purpose pitches…that is if the dip shart umpire doesn’t understand that the pitcher owns the plate and batters can’t hang over the plate and get a free 90 if they get hit. Pull your head outcha a$$ blue!!!

This year homeplate umpire is THE WORST I HAVE EVER SEEN
Just heard on another channel that there have been 14 no hitters thrown since homeplate umpire has been umpiring LLWS and he has been homeplate umpire for 11 of the 14. GO FIGURE. WHAT ARE THE ODDS OF THAT? DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They should have only given up 1 run in the 3rd but the ump fuxked them with that bad call on steike 3

They are volunteer so I cut them some slack but I get what you mean - there are calls they mess up that really change the trajectory of the game

Homeplate umpire was partial towards Hawaii. Hawaiian boys are taught to stand still and let the ball hit them. Anyones natural reaction is to get out of the way of the ball. They DONT and that is taught to them. Any coach that teaches that to these boys is pretty pathetic in my opinion. Rules need changed. You dont see this happen in semi or Pro baseball. Just goes to show that its not about sportsmanship. ITS ALL ABOUT WINNING. REALLY SAD.
Hate to break it to you. You don't have to get out of the way if the ball is thrown in the batters box, even in the MLB. The difference is it's different getting hit by 63mph ball, than it is 95mph.

The umpire behind the plate had 2 different strike zones. Not sure what the hell he was looking at but the Phelan kid got screwed hard by the Mr magoo behind the dish. What a shame for those kids.
