- First flight after a long pause. Circuits on a beautiful summer evening. All goes well until the engine develops a shake and I need to land to see what's up. I suspect the propellor needs to be tightened.
Very nice. So envious..
Thanks for watching! I’m glad you liked it, even if it was just flying circuits.
@@me109av8r That is the ultralight I would love to have. I live near Edenvale where the Canadian distributer is. i was out to talk to him but have not been able to afford it. Now I am retired and living a dream life but what you do is top on the list of if only i could. My daughter has my flying bug but now lives in Mexico where he pilots license is not valid. Anyway fly when you can and enjoy!
Will be interested to know what you find. My Challenger II (503) prop is safety wired. Is your prope belt driven? Proper tension? Please let us know.
It's a beautiful example of the breed. Congratulations and many more happy hours.
Thanks. Sorry for the late reply. I believe the issue was the belt redrive tension. I adjusted and the problem seems to be gone.
So what did the high RPM roughness end up being? Nothing too sinister I hope.
I discovered the nut on the prop shaft needed a little tightening. There was a little play, which would cause a wobble and vibration. It’s been too windy here to do a test flight, but I am confident that was the cause. Thanks for asking. Cheers!
What was wrong with the engine ??? Skål 🍺 🍺🍺
You may have seen my recent videos. I believe it was the belt redrive tension. I adjusted and the problem seems to be gone. I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks for asking!
