This is up there for one of the best walk-on stories I have ever heard.
Such an incredible story. This was a day dream of mine growing up. I played hockey and soccer. Had a big leg growing up. Could always kick it furthest on my soccer teams so I used to practice kicking a football in the back yard. Put a volleyball pole up between 2 trees on the far side of my yard. Had to choose playing hockey and soccer in high school though so didn't get a chance to try kicking in football.

its competition and its right what Coach Leach does. May the best kicker win. I feel bad for Ruiz but you cant miss so many FG in critical moments if this is the only job you do.
I was at the game and watched Leach send an assistant up the tunnel. Matt is being kind about the field goal situation at that time. He was one of the most consistent kickers that ever played for Tech.. Typical Leach behavior, especially the straight to the weight room part. Matt really helped the team. I hope Coach Leach still has lots of open practices where fans can stand on the sidelines and enjoy practices. Leach is a logical guy who goes from A to B, but not linear. Unless your idea of linear is a scatter diagram with the linear regression line through the forest of data points.

No I don’t think so he was a technical kicker and usually the ones who make the league are the ones with thunder legs that can kick a mile lmao but he was a helluva kicker in college he’s was one of techs most accurate I’m pretty sure
