I’m a Native American language revitalist. I am teaching a language that no longer has any speakers. I always thought it would be neat to use endangered languages for movies and shows and give them new life.
I'm a nobody and know nothing about languages, but I love that idea.
That makes a lot more sense that nonsense from nerds like this guest.
*What was the original, historical name of your language?*
I'm surprised there are aren't more nerds nerding out on lost and/or endangered languages. I mean, Klingon is semi-impressive but that same dedication towards actual languages would be super cool. And you're right, it would make for a great movie(s).
This is a beautiful idea!!!
Tosh on the Godfather: “I don’t have 3 hours to watch this movie”
Proceeds to watch multiple Hallmark Christmas movies 😂
Give him a break, he’s from Florida😂
Wild. I just watched 1 and 2 yesterday for the first time. They’re great, didn’t even seem like they were that long
@@chiefballs My last memory of them was on television with added commercials. That seemed to stretch the length of them in my memories.
He tries to portray himself as being too cool for these classics, but in reality, it's just that his taste is trash.
@@se7enine Yea there’s no way I’d be able to sit through it if it was on TV but I streamed them on paramount and it was a breeze honestly
Danial's interests: Surfing and asking if you believe in ghosts.
Danial's disinterests: Everything else.
Who's Danial?
@@marcuss777 lol oops
Who tf liked this? It makes no sense
Legit props to Daniel. He keeps inviting the most kind of eclectic people to interview and they're All equally entertaining
I firmly disagree. The others have been much better. Aside from the lady that could “talk” to animals.
Every episode has been pretty great. This guy was a dud though. That's okay, they can't all be zingers
@@Alej_915what are your standards, I’ve listened to like every one of these at work and I didnt go “this one was a dud” for this or any episode
This guy sucked azz , it was beyond boring
@@Joeypompello I'm glad you like them all, that's great for you bud. I don't have a checklist for my "standards." It's not that deep bro. Sometimes a guest can be boring to me, and this was one of those times. Just my opinion
personally this was one of my favorite episodes so far. I almost feel like watching Daniel struggle to play nice and listen to a story for more than just a minute or 2 about topics he isn't well versed in is a masterclass on restraint.
*For eight seconds I thought this guy was the _Dog Whisperer 2.0, then I realized he was brilliant.*
*"You're going to edit this terribly for me, aren't you?"*
"FYI, we've already cut 2 minutes of this..." lost it haha
That scene has been eating at David since childhood.
this guy is so cool, love him.
One day he’s going to have an episode titled “My annoying fan in the comments” and i will be ready to step up
Except for you're not that interesting, so he would probably choose me
Only to be disappointed, and realize I was the correct choice all along.

@asnojleykl4319 my guess is "kids next door" but I could be wrong 😂
That shit took me out 💀💀💀

He looks exactly what I would expect a “fictional language creator” to look like
His posture annoys me. This has never happened to me before now...
dont be a dick
Nice tatas
@@korbindallas4552 Agreed, but I think maybe the fact that he is leaning towards the mic makes it worse. On the positive side it made me be more aware of my own shitty posture to avoid annoying people😂
@@korbindallas4552That’s an improper use of ellipses.
For whatever reason, I took a college course in golf and sports turf management, and the professor (older man) was obsessed with Pootie Tang, would constantly reference it in the course materials, and actually had us watch it in class one week. Thanks for rekindling that memory
Great movie seems like a great course lol
Daniel’s face when he thought this man was saluting. 💀😂
21:57 - I had to go back and check haha
@@zvance5433you're saving minutes off people's lives my friend thank you
I heard the podcast and had to watch this part. 🫡
Are you a big reader ..yes as in I like the words really big on a page.. off the cuff this is why he’s the goat
He asks if this guy really went to Berkely and then the way the dude leads the conversation after is more than enough proof for me 😂
Educated men would seem inconspicuous to a man of your stature, wouldn’t they
It's funny to think he's a con man, but they literally showed his Berkeley (that's how it's spelled) graduation photo immediately after that. They were both goofing on Hollywood not giving a shit about pedigree for certain jobs.
@@MrMitchbowDon't you mean 'conspicuous'? Like "a man with such an education would seem to stand out to the likes of you".
The condescension was amusing to me, especially since it seemed like a failed attempt.
NAH NAH NAH you can just _"tell by the way he leads the conversation"_ that he's all BEREKLEY-FIED 🙄@@jebediahkrimsoncraftleding3012
No way this guy went to Berkeley
That was one of the best shows so far. So funny and each one is getting better, so refreshing to not see comedians interviewing comedians every podcast lol
Sometimes Theo von interviews professionals
I agree getting old seeing same comedians over n over, TOSH is a genius
You definitely don’t listen to comedy podcasts you’re an algorithm goober who eats the Theo cons and Tom segura groolcasts up
@@tvtvtfan3767 those are my favorite eps too
How much longer can people like Sam Morrel talk about the “road” and “the state of comedy”
Daniel's exasperated sigh @10:36 brought me unbelievable joy.
I was waiting for him to ask if he pronounces it caramel or caramel lol.
"unbelievable joy"
Best part of the interview
Low key one of the best episodes just because this dude has a great personality.
I have a friend who speaks almost exactly like David Peterson. You can ask a very simple question that warrants a simple answer and get a 10 minute story that starts with, "Well, that's an interesting question because..." and it's like, "It was a yes or no question, Jeff."

Vocab word of the day: pedantic
God damn it Jeff !
Tosh’s face when this guy lifted his arm while talking about High German had me dying with laughter.
The longer this interviewer went on, the more this guy seems like a very articulate BSer who is getting over big on Hollywood. Hats off to him.
I think more likely it’s a guy who got a non fatal wound from autism and used it perfectly to make a career for himself.
Nothing like the lady that spoke to dogs right?
I cut this off for the new MSSP with dan Soder so fast. The second Daniel said DEFOGGER TABLET I was done.
No wonder the numbers are dropping so much. Boo.

Nah rhetoric shapes reality
YES! I 100% do not believe in ghosts... until I'm in a very dark part of a building. Then the math seems to change.
"Ghosts are the collective malice of humanity that implores people to do violent things in dark places."
Pretentious shit I just made up.
🤣
I feel this. I'm so fucking logical, no ghosts, no demons, even convinced aliens probably can't get to us due to the difficulty of space travel, but yeah...
Late at night, home alone, dark.... I'm scared there's a monster in my closet. I'll kick the door open with a knife in hand to try to get it first.
Super cool to see David on Tosh of all places. Was beyond gracious when visiting his old high school (much love to Mr. Harrell) so I’m glad he’s still found so much success after GoT.

"Do you also say pokemon?"
"No i don't ever say that because I'm a fucking adult!"
Best response ever!!!
We all knew Daniel was about to flame him for that 😂
Tosh killing it again!! "Do you speak Jive?" Nice pull from Airplane.
Watching Tosh's frustration talking to this guy is magnificent.
Hi Tosh! Big fan from Houston. Been going through some great times these last few years and your comedy and podcasts really help bring me back down and bring me plenty of discomfort. Love the show!
Hey wait a minute
OMG Tosh talking about the absurdness with Karate Kid had me laughing.
Daniel reviewing the 2012 best picture nominees was some of the funniest shit ever… idk if anyone remembers that
ooof, growing up listening to Focus on the Family sermons is wild, especially with how Tosh was able to leave all that heavy conservatism behind. Cause that's just not regular conservatism, that's conservatism on crack.
I still remember Advetures in Odyssey
Eh, so so. Scientology is superior though.
The old tosh.0 movie spoilers were my favorite!!! Tiptoes was the best
It would be amazing if you interviewed Tyler Cassidy, aka Krispy Kreme aka Froggy Fresh aka your best friend for life, about his current music. He is writing some of the best stuff he's done yet. A reunion between you two would be pretty awesome.
Really enjoying the pod so far. Always funny and sometimes I learn things too 😅. Keep it up Tosh! Glad you are back doing a show regularly!
OK, this interview was way more interesting than I expected. Also, does anyone else get a young James Spader vibe from David?
Wierdly spot on.
It felt weird thinking it. @@jackcinelli1740
I legitimately have never seen thumb fingers before. Every time this dude showed his hands I couldn't look away trying to figure out wtf was going on there.
He’s like an AI generated person.
@@humanmerelybeing1966 yeah, personality wise too. Still a good show but his hands were distracting lol.
This dudes double jointed thumbs had me distracted the whole time. Never seen anything like it. Very cool tosh
The fact that tosh can bring any random person no one knows an make a quality podcast an make it interesting say a lot
Tolkien was the best fake language maker, dig him up and do a podcast with his rotting corpse. All the best! Love the the pod
This is literally the best podcast out
This person has never seen two bears one cave with conedys two most famous and best of friends Tom and Bert..
Story time at the end is funny. Daniel’s kid seems to already be showing signs of comedic timing.

He has fingers for thumbs on both hands. Can’t believe Daniel didn’t bring it up
Daniel’s reaction to the “high German” explanation when the arm starts going up is incredible.
Daniels face when he started to raise his arm lmfao
@21:53 and he looked genuinely shocked. Not a bit he was doing which makes it so much funnier.
I feel like Daniel bit his tongue, holding back jokes, this whole episode. 😅🤣

The son's "The End", after the park story, was expert timing.
The best podcast on CZcams.
Don't tell Joe Rogan 😂

@brettsmith8145 This is way better than that right-wing propaganda podcast. Might as well call it the official fox News podcast. Rogan really sold out.

Idk if id go that far lol but he's entertaining
I love that Tosh loves Elemental just because he took his kid to the movie. Parenting is weird.
What I really enjoy about this show is how relatable all the guests are…
My fave part was the end, how his son was like excited about this big ass park, and he was like, "that's scary" so then his son was like, "fuggit, the end".
The bedtime stories are the highlight of the cast.😂
My boyfriend Ian and I love Tosh!! We recently moved to Tampa FL, originally from small town OKC (highschool sweethearts). We both watched Tosh since we were kids and always will 🫶🏻 …the Tosh show border is great. 👍
Alright it has to be said that story at the end was fantastic 🤣🤣
The speaking in tongues devaluation made my day
Your son already knows one of the most valuable secrets in life: Never let the truth get in the way of a good story.
Everytime I see the end clips with Carl, I think it's a person in a suit like The Shaggy Dog.
I still have pootie tang on dvd! Lol “Sa da tay” 😂
First off: Absolutely loved this guest!
Second: He is DEFINITELY pretty active on Reddit, I'd guess 😂❤
LMAO
I love the bedtime stories. Just listening to a child try to maintain 30 seconds of a single thread is hilarious. I'm in the bleachers like "he's not gonna make it, he's not gonna make it"
Still waiting for the podcast with your body disposal guy.
Someone else had to listen to Focus on the Family with their Dad? Tosh made my day! 😂
Was not expecting my two worlds to collide like this. One of my favorite comedians interviewing someone that created a language for one of my favorite movies.. it's a fun world sometimes lol
So glad Tosh came out with a podcast! Got into his comedy years ago and I love the fact that he's finally caught up with the rest of the comedians!
Tosh show fo sho!
Highly recommend ‘Poor Things’ film. Looking past Emma Stone getting plowed for 40min of the movie it’s actually a very visually trippy movie with a very interesting storyline.
This was my favorite episode so far. David is a gem.
When his kid said "I don't know, tornados hit it, maybe?" I LOST IT😅😅😅😅
David could never lose a thumb war
Daniel is so… perceptive. The way he matched David’s way of thinking for towards the end was perfect. 😂
that story at the end gets me every time 😂
ROFL, love to be a fly on the wall for his first viewing of Pootie Tang. Dude's going to drop a ball.
I love this guy he’s a dork in the best way possible
The O is silent in opossum. Possum is just people that don’t know how to spell it, and it’s been used so frequently that it’s become an acceptable variation.
The "O" in opossum is like a grace note w/ staccato
Watching Tosh fight the urge to just roast this guy every 6 seconds deserves an olympic medal
Daniel's story about going to see Elemental with his son is so sweet! Behind all of the dick jokes and gay jokes is a loving father! ❤️
I could feel you really liked this interview. Lol When he said my name is Daniel in 2 languages, it sounded the exact same. Thanks for the episode.
It's so funny for Daniel to have to deal with a nerd for 45 minutes you can tell he hates his life choices
Daniel's face at the "high salute" moment was absolutely hilarious !!!! I hope you say hello to me Daniel, I am Jane from Scotland but now live in the south of France - I kid you not when I lie down to try and sleep I always have on one or two or three of your stand up shows to bearce me to sleep!! 21:58 Daniel literally sat back like wtf is this guy doing on my podcast. The genuine flabbergasted reaction and instantaneous riffing off the cuff to tone it down is why we all love Daniel. 🤣
As someone into languages/linguistics, especially etymology, this was a fun episode.
Fucking nerd....Agreed, I enjoyed the hell out of this episode. So I also am a fucking nerd which is why I'm allowed to call you a fucking nerd. Nerd
You know, every single episode that comes out, I often think
"oh, i don't know, this guest doesn't seem THAT interesting, but I'll check it out",
and I'm wrong every time! That's what I love most about this podcast.
Every single guest so far has been so damn unique, interesting, and full of hilarious stories.

Hey Daniel! I was just flossing and my nose itched. It's gotta be because of the way we scrunch our noses upwards when we lift our cheeks to floss. Gotta be. It works if we're Not flossing LOL. Saw you in Reading, PA about 8 years ago or so...hysterical my man!
Daniel’s face at 21:58 when he thought he was about to heil 😂

Your kids story’s are very funny. His logic about tornados making the parks bigger literally makes more sense than adult logic and reasoning you hear today.
Tied for favorite episode so far with my favorite French friend.
Thanks for making my google home fire off Daniel. Not alarming at all when i suddenly hear a loud lady trying to translate something into swedish in the other room.
This dudes a legend! Didn't realize he was responsible for high valerian and Dothraki 👌👌👌
I heard they did Dothraki by having Martin come in one day with a cold and start trying to do Valerian.
I’m a linguist and a conlanger and I laughed so hard when it cut to Daniel looking at David explaining the minutiae of making a language like “this man is crazy.”
33:01 He keeps saying archeologists when he means paleontologist. (Archeologists specifically study human history/prehistory, paleontologist study the history of life through the fossil record).
It's a common mistake though. As a paleontologist, I can't tell you how many people I've seen confuse the two fields.

I can totally relate with Daniel on the movie watching. I just don't have the time or the desire.
Of course you have the time. You think you are the only person who watches films who has a fucking job, or something? You got the second part right. You just don’t have the desire. And that’s just fine.
Weak excuse. More like poor taste.
Doesn't have time to watch The Godfather or Oppenheimer but provides a recap and highly recommended Pootie Tang, classic Tosh
This interview is what I'm showing anyone who wants to get a degree in language arts.
Not the same thing, but still funny.
That Freman language in Dune 2 was so fucking impressive
Has anyone noticed how insanely long the guest's thumbs are, or is it just me???
Cannot unsee that now. It's unsettling.
I couldn't get past how he thinks that haircut is the one to go with.
his thumbs are an abomination 👎
